Loved this episode! I agree with you regarding Bashir's voice. At first I didn't think it was Siddig El Fadil. Why couldn't they put the Dax symbiont into any human host? That's how Adira, a human, became a host on Discovery.

If I recall correctly, before Adira even the Trill thought that to be impossible. Temporarily hosting one nearly killed Riker in TNG.
