I will take the ability to durably influence and persuade everyone around me, aka love, anytime over Chronomancy. Pound for pound, you can achieve a lot more with fewer side effects with "Love" than with Chronomancy just because I can influence everyone on earth and combine their expertise and resources whereas Chronomancy is limited by the fact that you are literally casting from lifespan everytime you do-over or go back in time. That's assuming that you're talking about Chronomancy. If you're going to tag-on ludicrous effects such as teleportation, the ability to revert your body back from death while keeping the knowledge that you should have logically lost, the ability to stop time and yet still be able to interact with objects without having to fight against momentum, or the ability to still see and hear when you times stop when neither light nor sound can bounce to your eyes and hear...then there's no contest because either you're using more than 1 power or Chronomancy is so poorly defined that you can basically make it do anything

Um actually, in Twilight the vampires don't necessarily have to be dismembered. Fire alone would suffice, they only dismember them to make the process easier. In the movie they show a vampirised toddler and they don't rip them apart, they just throw a toddler into a bonfire to kill them :) Also Werewolves aren't the only thing that can dismember a vampire. Other vampires do it and since Jacob's tribe is just shape shifters and not real werewolves, it is never 100% confirmed that werewolves can kill vampires. Although it is strongly implied when the Volturi (oldest and most powerful vampire clan) call real werewolves their mortal enemies.

While travelling in the forests of Albania Voldemort essentially forced him to become a host for what was left of his soul. The reason you can use plain bleach to sterilize water is that, when exposed to the air and sunlight, the chlorine in the bleach water solution becomes quite volatile and evaporates. Just appending onto this: Sinclair’s actor, Michael O’Hare, was struggling with severe mental health difficulties during the filming of Season 1 (we’re talking paranoid delusions and hallucinations). They offered to suspend filming Season 2 for him to seek treatment, but O’Hare did not want to jeopardise the series nor the jobs of the many people involved in the show. It was agreed between O’Hare and Straczynski that Sinclair would depart Babylon 5 between S1 and S2. The cast and crew were not informed of the full details but were told the parting was “mutual and amicable”. It was also agreed that O’Hare’s condition would be kept private until he passed away, at which point Straczynski would reveal the full circumstances. O’Hare would film some additional scenes as minor cameos in S2. A two-part episode in S3 closed Sinclair’s story arc.

Um, actually, the method for marking "Order Up" questions is flawed as it can lead to issues like Alex had here (where one item is out of place and causes most of the rest to be marked incorrect, even though he correctly assigned them relative to each other). Instead, you should mark "Order Up" questions by working out which player would need to exclude the fewest number of items in order to get a valid ordered string - in this case, Alex would have only needed to exclude one, and therefore would have won the point. Alternatively, you could include the size ranges (as seen in the "answers") and just have players match the size range to the item, which would allow you to retain the current methodology for marking.
@justincoleman38053 жыл бұрын
Let me guess. You got them all wrong and you’re mad.
@KW-hs7ss Жыл бұрын
You’re sorta right. In order theory, an order is a transitive, reflexive and antisymmetric relation on a set (that is, amongst the members of that set). Alex has 4 of the 18 relationships wrong. Zak has 1 of the 18 relationships wrong, since he has everything right except that he has switched space amoeba and Cromulon. Both Alex and Zak can achieve a fully correct order by eliminating one alien from the order. Haley did worst, getting 5 of the 18 relationships wrong. Giving her second place for this game (though it has no score for second place) is wrong.

I have two favourites when it comes to killing vampires that are about as stupid as Twilight in general. One is from Terry Pratchett, where you have to put lemon or orange slices in mouth and/or ears of a vampire, then cut their head off. The method varies slightly depending on where the vampire is from (as in, which location they're from). The other is from the anime Chibi Vampire (a.k.a Karin). When Karin discusses with her dad about how to kill vampires (because they have a rather useless vampire hunter pretty boy after them) she mentions that vampires should be afraid of stakes through their hearts. Her dad replies with "That's barbaric! That would kill anyone!". Later in the series, the vampire hunter actaully gets to Karins family and puts stakes through their hearts. However, Karins family does NOT die because "Vampires are built more sturdily than humans", as her father puts it. Basically, a wooden stake through the heart kills anyone EXCEPT for vampires.

23:17 Um, actually: DS9 hat Cmdr. Sisko, later promoted to Cpt who was a widower. Babylon 5 had at first Cmdr. Sinclair who is not a widower and later Captain Sheridan who is not a Cmdr. and also spoiler(?) is not a widower until end of season 3.

Um, actually, if Cromulon is specified as "planet-size" and a space amoeba is 1000s of kilometers, the information can't conclude an answer. They're both in the "more than 1000 kilometers" range.
@novaiscool13 жыл бұрын
More accurately we can extrapolate a size for Cromulon given that it fits in Earth's atmosphere. This means it's not planet sized, and if I recall based off of the shots from the show would be smaller than the Enterprise which is dwarfed by the amoeba.

Someone should write A Million Years of Dawn. No idea what it would be about, but perpetual dawn sounds like an interesting premise
@bramvanduijn80863 жыл бұрын
About a planet that becomes tidally locked for a million years, so there's a ring on the planet where the sun is always on the horizon. The story starts with a short description of how it happened, and how the then-owners of the planet sent a space probe with an AI to fix it, but the probe's propulsion breaks so the AI has spent a million minus thirteen years going insane while the probe accumulated all sorts of damage to its systems. At the end of the first book the AI has slowly learned how to be somewhat sane again because of a strange young voice on the radio. During the second book it becomes clearer and clearer to the reader (but not the AI) that the young voice is from a child alive on that tidally locked planet, in the thin livable strip of continuous dawn. At the end of the book the AI thanks the voice for healing its mind and the probe procedes to complete it's mission only 10 years after arriving in the system. This starts an irrevocable process which three years later will result in the complete destruction of the biosphere, including the helpful kid. The book ends with the AI realizing what will happen to her only friend. The third book is the AI frantically trying and failing to stop it, in the end only managing to upload an imperfect copy of the kid's mind into the probe which requires the destruction of the AI's personality to make space. The third book ends with the kid/AI continuing on to it's next mission, a million years of travel away.

re: The first letter in the corrections: Um, Actually, he should've asked for it to be 100 percent larger, and also to have 100 percent as much usable living area. Just doubling the volume of space wouldn't do a whole lot without the extra/larger livable planets to go with it.

This episode is a rerun OF a rerun.
@TuberTugger3 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's how reruns work. Either it is a rerun or an original showing. You'd have to somehow prove that each is iterated off the previous for that to make sense.
@mykel7233 жыл бұрын
@Derek Gooding Um actually, he doesn't have to prove that for it to make sense, i.e. you explained how it could make sense without proving the claim. You are correct that for it to be a rerun of a rerun it would need to have those qualities, but those qualities aren't necessary for the statement to be logical.

So the captained by recently widowed captain is technically not correct. The Original Commander of Babylon 5 was Jeffery Sinclair who divorced. It wasn't until Season 2 when Sinclair's actor had to leave the show did the introduce John Sheridan who was widowed.
@SportyMabamba11 ай бұрын
Just appending onto this comment: Sinclair’s actor, Michael O’Hare, was struggling with severe mental health difficulties during the filming of Season 1 (we’re talking paranoid delusions and hallucinations).

Um, actually, there aren't any werewolves present in the Twilight series. In Breaking Dawn it's revealed that Jacob and the other wolves are technically just shapeshifters and that the real werewolves have been hunted to near extinction by the Volturi. So, we actually have no idea if a werewolf could kill a vampire like that. Shapeshifter can, werewolves maybe

Um actually, in the original The Little Mermaid, the sea witch does appear again, or at least she's a plot piece later on. The little mermaid's sisters go back to the sea witch to make a deal for her to get a chance to return to the sea as a mermaid. Also, she doesn't really "trade for her voice", the sea witch cuts out her tongue, which sort of works with the phrasing, but we're here to be pedantic-

Um actually, I don’t believe Professor Quirrell can be considered a dark wizard, as he was not a convert to Voldemort. In hunting for Voldemort, Quirrell was no match for Voldemort’s power (even in its weakened state) and Voldemort took control of Quirrell. While Quirrell did attempt to resist he was no match for the Dark Lord.
@ZipplyZane3 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell, there still are points where Quirrell operates on his own--albeit under threat from Voldemort. So, while he didn't join willingly, he does seem to actually be working for Voldemort.

I know I know it’s been said already and will be in the corrections for the next episode but Um Actually neither of the two commanders of the Babylon 5 space station were recently widowed: commander Sinclair was never married and commander Sheridan may believe his wife is dead, but for most of the show she is actually alive and working for the Shadows as either a bioship pilot or an emissary.

I have Iodine solution in my survival kit since you can use it both to sterilize wounds and for emergency cleaning of water. Bleach is kinda a one trick pony and it goes bad far faster as well. As I see it, when the zombie invasion comes I want to limit the weight of my survival kit so anything that is multi purpose is great and who knows, Iodine put in quickly might just stop that zombie bite from turning me.
