Very much enjoyed the episode. I also loved where Data seeks advice from his crewmates, and commend him for trying his best. I do wish he hadn't given up on romance so quickly after one attempt though, since with most people, if they seek a relationship, they will keep going till they find the right person. I wish his friends could have advised him to NOT give up. I would have liked to have seen the dynamic of Data actually being in a long-term relationship and how that affected not only his understanding of humanity, but in his own personal growth as a person.

Data has shown that he's capable of caring for others, often even more than himself. So he's definitely capable of love. Even without his emotion chip, he did try his best to please Jenna but she was obviously more attracted to Data's good looks than him as a person. That being said, I think it would be tragic if Data fell in love with a human woman since he would have been forced to watch her age and die while he stayed young and handsome since he's practically an ageless robot that could live for centuries. The only woman Data could have a successful relationship with would probably be another android or a hologram. That's the only way I can really see it working out for him.

@Elly3981 There is ONE rather extreme way. If the woman consented to being put in a "golem" or android body, as Juliana (without consent or knowledge) or later, Admiral Picard was. Of course, that would take pretty advanced knowledge, but maybe Data could get a hold of Dr. Soong's notes on Juliana. If Alton (from ST: Picard) was around, they'd be able to work on it together.

@@GoddessPallasAthena I never saw Picard so that's the first time I'm hearing of such a thing. I do recall that the Juliana that Data met was not the real one but an android with her memories that Dr. Soong programmed because he couldn't bear to lose her. He did confess that to Data and told him never to tell Juliana the truth.
