I'd love to see a ship do it again, because it seems like a very practical way to resolve situations where diplomacy has failed and there are lots of hostiles at each other's throats. Knock them out and sort stuff out later. Then again, I'm also assuming because of the area of effect, the way different species react to stun blasts, atmospheric interference and the small and crucial space between stun and kill may make it unnecessarily risky to use.

Always thought this would be a great episode to revisit as a Trek movie. The planet's inhabitants have become hostile to their neighbors and have developed advanced tech due to McCoy's communicator left behind. They assume the Feds are out there and waiting to be paid, only to realize they were duped by Kirk.

This original phaser seen is better than the enhanced remastered version. Reason being that Kirk ordered a blanket stun around his location. But in the remastered scene the phasers directly hit the two gangster cars. It doesn't fit.

Note if you will, the actor being transported to Oxsmiths office, was John Harmon who was also in the first season episode, City On The Edge Of Forever who was sitting next to Kirk and saying You expect to eat for free? You gotta listen to goodie two shoes. He also was the one who picked up the milk and began drinking it when McCoy appered and said, Assins, murderers!, You, what planet is this? Also, he was on Bonanza on many occasions one in particular, as a barber in The Last Haircut which had actor Perry Lopez whom you know as Lt. Rodriguez in the first season episode of Star Trek, Shore Leave.
