Someone said the yellow ledge paint epidemic is because players wouldn't look up and Oboe refusing to look up for the gate switch despite the tut video showing it immediately beforehand makes me believe that.

Back in the day, gamers were pretty much all nerds. At the very least they were people who were good at computers to begin with. Console games were much simpler, more accessible. 99 percent of people playing any given game had the IQ required to actually be trusted to do things correctly. Making gaming more accessible to everyone, allows for people who play like Oboe (he's fine, I know he's mostly doing it to try and be funny for videos/streams). But there are people out there who 100 percent of the time, completely unintentionally, are just like "Lol the tutorial is for nerds, skip everything, why can't I just press button and thing happens? I Want to pay for a game and then Purposely skip 70 percent of the content because my brain has holes in it." Those people are the reason for all the handholding and dummy bait that exists in nearly everything now.
