I agree that you don’t need any Star Wars background knowledge to enjoy Andor. It’s twice the length of Obi-Wan so this release is actually fantastic value. And because Andor is so complex and intricately made it can (and should) be rewatched many times.

I've got a preorder down for Andor as its not only my favourite Star Wars show, but one of my top 3 shows of all time, beaten only by breaking bad and better call saul. And its absolutely insane how much better it looks over the D+ stream... like I knew itd be better but man its a night and day difference. I cannot wait to get my hands on it. When it released the first thing I said was. If they ever release it on 4k bluray I will buy it no matter what. And uhh yeah I spent $128AUD on it but thats absolutely worth it to me considering how incredible it looks. And while I didn't like Obi-Wan anywhere near as much as Andor, I still quite enjoyed it. I might pick up the series on 4K when it drops in price because from the screenshots in the video, a fair chunk of my issues with the presentation have been improved with the 4k bluray. Chung Chung-hoon was cinematographer on the series and he's great but I won't lie I was disappointed with how much handheld extra shaky cam was used and with the combination of dark settings and highly compressed images it makes it look even worse. But I'm very excited to hear the sound improvements because streaming still just cannot do sound justice like physical media can.

Both shows are so great. Yes Obi-Wan has a couple of story questions but I love the two brothers so much, I have cardboard standings of both in my living room. The Fight is AMAZING. Was sooo dark on Dis +. I love Vader and Obi-wan so much worth every inch just for them. But the rest of the show is freaking awesome too. ANDOR is incredible. One of the best written shows I have ever watched. It is truly like a book. Once you get there the pay off is off the charts great. For me it was after episode 3 you realize everything was for a reason. EVERYTHING!! Seriously great show if your a starwars fan, he wasn't kidding these are must own. So hard too see on + sometimes. I cannot wait. Can only afford Obi first but I hope Andor makes it another check. Thank you, I was hesitating...nope......"As you wish" ( Vader voice )

😘Thanks! 💥If you don’t mind me sharing a brief suggestion with you: just go into watching these Star Wars TV series without preconceived ideas & notions about what you think should happen with the original characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vader & you will end up enjoy them immensely as a fun & entertaining Sci-Fi TV series that adds to their deep lore & legacy!! 🥹Sadly, I really feel like a LOT of Star Wars fans were overly critical of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series because they had preconceived ideas that they really wanted certain things to happen with the storyline & when they didn’t happen exactly the way they thought & wanted, they then became very overly critical of a an actually very enjoyable & entertaining epic sci-fi Star Wars series that brings back some of my favorite characters (with the original actors) in the Star Wars universe!! ❓Are you a big fan of the Darth Vader & Obi Wan Kenobi characters??❓ 😍I’m glad to hear that my video helped you decide to buy these OUTSTANDING Star Wars TV series 4K UltraHD💿 sets!! 👍I appreciate all your great comments & continuing support‼️🥰

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I went to see A New Hope in theatres when I was almost 5. I really liked Alec Guinness as Obi Wan in that movie. I am keeping an open mind going into this. Interested to see how they flesh out the story with these two. I ignored the criticisms of the Last Jedi and the Rise of Skywalker. I enjoyed them for what there are. I am a big fan but not an obsessive one. As a kid, my dad worked for a toy distributor here in Canada who brought in all the Kenner Star Wars toys to be sold in Sears, etc. I had all the toys but sadly, I just have a few random action figures that pop up from time to time when I am going through things.

I thought Obi-Wan story was meh, but after hearing how they knocked the 4k disc out of the park, I had to pre-order; it was pretty incredible to get Hayden back, and the visuals (especially the light sabers) looked really dope. Looking forward to seeing them in higher fidelity on disc. Andor of course was always genius, I pre-ordered Season 1 as soon as they announced it

I definitely liked Andor better than Obi Wan Kenobi, but I will have to buy both. I already pre-ordered Andor, but not Obi Wan yet. I own every live action Star Wars movie: S.W. episodes 1,2,3, Solo, Rouge One, S.W. episodes 4,5,6, the Mandalorian season 1 & 2 and Star Wars episodes 7,8,9. So I guess I'll have to order Obi-Wan. I can't wait to get the Mandalorian episode 3 and Oshaka season 1

WTF is up with Amazon? I received Kenobi in about 3 weeks which I knew was going to take a while to get because it was sought after. Andor, on the other hand, It went from arriving June 12 to arriving June 25 and then it said it would be at my house last Saturday. Now on Monday it said June 25 again. Wondering if I will ever get it now.

What are the comparison images taken from? The 4K disc images are clearly superior but where are these captured? Do TV settings play any part in it?

😕So if you’ve watched my full in-depth analysis & review video I’ve already explained (😜100’s of times over the years) in these videos that they are ALWAYS the native images pulled directly from the 4K 💿 disc itself!👌 💥Also FYI: native 4K images pulled directly from the discs themselves always have nothing to do with any TV or settings in any shape or form because it’s NOT🚫 a picture from a TV or screen! Native 4K images means it’s always the actual “NATIVE” data present & pulled from on the 4K 💿 disc itself!! But if you watch the full in-depth videos I already clearly cover all this info inside these exclusive videos I work hard to create!! 😉Hopefully this helps you understand all of this tech a bit better!!👍

I’ve never needed to produce native images so didn’t know how it worked (what software you need, is it captured via a tv or something else) or how you’d comparatively get them for a streaming service. What do you think Wave 3 will be? My predictions: Wave 3: Book of Boba Fett and Mandalorian Season 3 - later this year. Wave 4: Ahsoka and The Acolyte - early next year. Wave 5 (down the road): Skeleton Crew and Andor season 2.

To be honest I found most of Andor to be kinda dull. Took me a while to get through it but I thought it ended pretty well. I’m intrigued by what will happen in the next season. Obi Wan Kenobi however I loved. Honestly don’t understand the flack it gets. But different strokes for different folks as they say. Having said all that, I have preordered both these sets and can’t wait to put them in and see how they look for myself.

Andor was fantastic. I have my steelbook on pre order. But I did not enjoy Obi Wan. The action was cheesy. The dialogue was clunky. The story was forgettable and dumb. The acting was disappointing. Overall, I had really high hopes for Obi Wan but was completely disappointed.

Yeah, I haven't watched any of the Star Wars series yet. I've heard from numerous friends, family members, etc, that Obi Wan was disappointing. The only two they recommend are Andor and Ahsoka. Some have mixed feelings on Mandalorian and Book of Bobba Fett. I like to make my own mind up, though, and I'll still watch them all. I'm going to watch everything in chronological order, though. It's about time I have a Star Wars fest!

Agree about both Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Andor was truly excellent. There are many issues with Obi-Wan Kenobi as you pointed out (directing, script, Reva and the Inquisitors in general, etc.). But my biggest issue with it is the timeline. Ten years after Revenge of the Sith, ten years before A New Hope. It just doesn’t make any sense. If the show was set 3-5 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, in my mind it fixes many of the story issues that conflict with A New Hope. I have no idea why they did it that way.

@STTPMASFTNE Thank you for explaining that. That's obviously why a lot of fans are put off by it. I'll still watch it, though, eventually. If I don't like it, then I won't watch it again and lose it from my collection. For me personally it starts with the movies. If the shows are poor then I'm not overly fussed. I really need to start watching everything in chronological order though as I've only watched the movies (Many times). I just never got around to watching the shows. I have more time on my hands now though. Thank you 👍

@@papa_sloth_gaming547 I can't recommend Ahsoka either unfortunately for many of the same reasons as obi wan. The characters and acting were stiff and boring. The action scenes were slow and awkward.

Meh bit harsh dude, it had its flaws but was definitely not disappointing, Reva surviving a lightsaber stab did trigger me though, and as for Andor it's outstanding, enjoy watching 👍

Could not care less for Obi... first Star Wars physical media I will skip. Hopefully these 4k will allow better editors like Pentex to improve their superior versions. Andor on the other hand... I will be getting that one straight of the bat.

Disney finally gave the fans what they wanted: a physical media release of Andor with excellent bonus features! Too bad they put more effort into the Obi-Wan Kenobi release than the Andor release, given that Andor is the superior show. 😢

Been waiting for Andor on disc. It's one of the best pieces of Star Wars content ever made, and it's so much better than Rogue One. Obi Wan however was complete garbage. The filmmaking was just awful everywhere. Horribly cheap looking, hokey writing that doesn't feel authentic to Star Wars, inconsistent characterization of Darth Vader/Anakin. The chase scene with Leia for example is one of the dumbest looking things I've ever seen on a production of this size. A bunch of guys in costumes running into trees while trying to catch a toddler. My goodness.

Obi Wan looks better than Episodes 1-3 because 1-3 were filmed on a digital camera at 1080p and can’t ever be truly upgraded to 4K, so they’re upscaled.

Not ordering either of them. Andor is the better, but I won't. Star Wars has lost its magic.
