What's actually really interesting is that, my friends who first watched this trilogy questioned why the love triangle between Luke, Leia, and Han was so forced. Technically it wasn't. When Harrison Ford says, "You could USE a good kiss," he admitted that it was such a cringey line and in terms of just this movie, it wasn't a plausible reason for him to sound so angry and childlike. That's why there was more stories depicted in comic books, novels and events that took place leading up to the next movie. But the additional facts about this movie are this: Empire takes place a couple years after A New Hope. So the relationship between the three of them did grow in the comics that were created and the books that originally built the gap between the movies. In that time, the rebellion abandoned the base at Yavin 4 and moved to the snowy ice planet of Hoth. What I like about starwars is that they had time in between the movies for a lot of buildup which allowed the characters to age and whatnot. It's still to this day, one of my favorite series.
@autumncolors70156 жыл бұрын
I think the consensus among most SW fans (not all, most) is that Empire is the BEST of all of the SW movies. My personal favorite, though (for sentimental reasons), is Return of the Jedi. This is so much fun seeing your reaction to these.

20:11 The "music following the characters around" thing is called a _leitmotif,_ a technique that was extensively used by Richard Wagner in his operas. John Williams was drawing from a well established and noble tradition when he used this technique in _Star Wars._ He used motives not only associated with people, but also with concepts. There are a number of languages spoken in Star Wars. Galactic Basic is the language of the "humans" and the main language of the Star Wars galaxy. (English in the U.S.A. release of the movies, but foreign release would be the local language such as Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, etc.) Chewbacca and the Wookies speak Shyriiwook, the language of the Wookie home-world Kashyyyk. Han Solo also speaks Shyriiwook and Chewie understands Basic but cannot speak it. R2D2 and other non-Basic speaking droids speak Droidspeak. Luke understands Droidspeak and C3PO is a protocol droid who speaks millions of languages including Droidspeak. Jabba the Hutt and his cohorts speak Huttese. C3PO also speaks Huttese as a translator. Han Solo understands Huttese, but we never see him speak it. On Endor's moon, the Ewoks speak Ewokese, but a very rare dialect. C3PO is able to translate for the group, but is unsure about his accuracy since it is an antiquated dialect. Jawas and Tuskans are also hear speaking. Tuskans may also use sign language to communicate. Din Djarin, the Mandalorian, is able to speak with the Tuskans both verbally and through sign language. However, when speaking to the Jawas, Kwiil must translate the Jawa language since the Mandalorian does not seem to understand them.

Whenever I watch these movies and see Darth Vader killing someone that failed him and just promoting the next guy it reminds me of a Star Wars video game. I believe it was The Force Unleashed 2 where something you could find or unlock in the game was a letter or journal of a soldier in the Empire. He explains in the letter that he has received yet another promotion, but he didn't get it because he was doing such an exceptional job. He was getting promoted because the people above him kept failing Vader and Vader was killing them. He also mentions that he is scared to death about being promoted again, because every time he was his rank would bring him closer to coming into contact with Vader and he would probably end up dying by Vader's hand than dying in battle.

The first jumpscare is famously the unmasking scene at the end of the Phantom of the Opera in 1925. It was horrifying. Nosferatu had many jumpscares for being a silent film from germany in 1922. its literally ALL they could do to invoke fear along with the music track of the orchestra causing the plucking sounds and shrieks of violas and cellos for suspense. Even the Universal monster movies from the 40's & 50's like the Mummy, Dr Jekyl & Mr Hyde, The Werewolf. Dracula. all had jumpscares. Even later films in the 50's like Hitchcocks famous camera pull was a jumpscare of suspense. pulling the camera away fast, while zooming in at the same time so that the face stays in focus, while the background warps. it was an analog special effect thats become cinema history. im sorry but you are soooo wrong, you're not even right Sammy :/

It may be an interesting fun fact, but Vader didn't kill the officer at the end (when Luke escapes) because he only kills someone when they fail him (usually more than once). Like the officer(s) he killed earlier in the film. However in this case, the officer did do his job... disabled the hyperdrive. It's just... R2 fixed it. So Vader didn't kill the guy because it wasn't actually his fault.

In-universe there's a three year gap between episode 4 and this one (just a funfact) so the characters are supposed to spend lot of time together this sort of explain growing Han and Leia connection, but there was already spark of attraction between them in A New Hope :). I assume you're going to watch prequels after Return of the Jedi? By the way, you should really really watch Willow, this is a nice little fantasy movie that often gets forgotten! :) And coincidentally it's also George Lucas work hehe.

Star Wars is my childhood, grew up with the original trilogy & had all of the toys. Nice to see people watch them for the first time. Unfortunately, most of the story has been spoiled for non fans and famous quotes have made their way thru the public without much context to them.

Was just thinking you guys should do Dunkirk it's the story of thousands of French and British troops surrounded on the beachs of Dunkirk Belgium in WW2 while they try over and over again to get troops on ships to get them to the UK only for Germany to sink them over and over with torpedos and the luftwaffe, it eventually take civilian ships to get them home. Christopher Nolan directed it same guy who directed the Christan bale Batman movies.

You want them to see a movie you actually spoiled completely?
@Darth_Bark6 жыл бұрын
@@thebatanne7841 oh wow I spoiled something that actually happened in history and is common knowledge, when this came out it basically said all this in the trailer so I really dont see how I spoiled it

9:36 You should tell your sister that Lucas originally had written the script for Han to say "I love you too" but Harrison Ford felt it was too out of character for him and said that instead. Best fucking ad-lib in history.

Hope you all are planning to react to Bad Lip Reading's "Hostiles on the Hill" video soon Fun Facts: There are some cameos of actors you know from other shows/films: - The actor playing General Veers is Julian Glover, who later played Grandmaester Pycelle on "Game of Thrones" - The one rebel soldier who follows Leia's briefing with "All right. Everyone to your stations. Let's go!" is played by John Ratzenberger; who was later famous for playing mailman Cliff Claven on "Cheers", and has done at least one voice on almost every Disney Pixar movie.
