We are truly sorry for how much of the reaction portion are muted & blurred! The reason is because so many scenes are layered with iconic music that kept triggering YT's copyright detection, so we had to keep going back to re-edit and muted and blur more and more scenes until we got a version that didn't result in a copy right complaint :(

"I'm curious what happened between Anakin and Obi-Wan, that he would trust the Chancellor more than him." Don't forget that Obi-Wan has essentially raised him since he was a kid taken from his mother. That's a very paternal relationship, and Anakin is rebelling. It's likely that he blames Obi-Wan, at least in part, for many of the frustrations and disappointments he has had in his life. The Chancellor, on the other hand, is reinforcing his rebellion, telling him things he wants to hear.
@Saber2793
@Saber2793 3 жыл бұрын
Thing is, after being taken away from his mom, a paternal relationship is what Anakin wanted, but he did not get that with Obi-Wan. Kenobi acted as Anakin's older brother: he obviously cared for his Padawan, but sometimes acted condescendingly, with Anakin feeling he was being weighed down. The rest of the Jedi Masters' attitude was strict and demanding, also mistrustful in Windu's case. In contrast, Palpatine played the role of a loving and understanding father, slowly eroding Anakin's trust in the Jedi and essentially grooming him for apprenticeship for 13 years.

The book of Revenge of the Sith explains so much more of this story and I recommend all to read it. Palpatine's speech about Darth Plagueis should include that his holocron (data/info store) was confiscated by the Jedi, held in the Temple Archives and is only accessible to a Jedi Master. When Palpatine appoints Anakin to the Council - which should convey Master rank (opening the way for him to save Padme), the Jedi Council refuses to make him a Master (blocking the path to save Padme). From a certain point of view, Palpatine is helping Anakin and the Jedi keep holding him back. The 'seduction' scene in the book is magnificent too, with Palpatine pushing Anakin with the question "What do you want?". When Anakin tells Palpatine he should kill him for being Sith, Palpatine responds with "I'm offering you anything you want. Did you think that excluded my life? If you need to kill me, I won't resist you." Anakin is shocked - you won't fight back!? Palpatine looks horrified: You're my friend - I would never fight you!

Part of the reason Jango Fett was used as the prototype for the clones, is that he was a notorious Jedi killer. As an "OT" fan, I didn't harbor the same level of dislike for this trilogy as many of my peers. I actually enjoyed the PT, especially THIS episode. 9:46 - Obi-Wan treated Anakin like a "brother"... whereas Palpatine treated him like a SON. A "father figure" is what Anakin has been searching for all his life. 10:30 - The Dark Side of The Force is a pathway to MANY abilities, some consider to be.... unnatural..... (sorry, couldn't help myself) 12:02 - Palpatine knew, because he had "spies" all over Naboo(his own home planet). Even though there was only the "minister" who performed the ceremony, the two participants, and the droids....... he KNEW that Anakin and Padme' had gotten married(in secret). Either the minister gave up the info, or Palpatine saw it through The Force. 12:21 - That's a Sith ability. The scream Palpatine let out as he leapt forward causes feat/doubt in his target. In the Clone Wars series, Anakin uses this same power, at some point. 13:28 - If I hadn't already given the Like.... I would have done it for the Eddie Izzard reference! NICELY DONE!!! 16:02 - Good call! You noticed that Obi-Wan cut off both legs AND his left arm in one swoop. 17:30 - Okay.... to answer THAT question.... there is only speculation, really. It's possible that Palpatine used some sort of Sith alchemy to drain Padme' of her life force to preserve Anakin. Though, this has NOT been confirmed. It does, remain a very logical choice.

What you said about 9:46 is also the reason the music playing during Darth Maul fight in EP 1 is called "Duel of Fates", since if Qui-Gon had survived, he would be the one to train Anakin and he would be more like a father to him, rather than a brother

Yeah Cinema Therapy does a great episode on Anakin and how he has BPD and we are shown on screen that Palps is always that loving and helpful father (as an act) and always giving unconditional support where as the Jedi, especially Kenobi really do treat Anakin like absolute shit. Like there is perhaps only 1 or 2 examples in the whole of cannon of Kenobi actually praising Anakin in a sincere way (when they split up for the last time) but dozens of him being sarcastic or giving backhanded complements. He also gets super attached to the first woman who gives him any care and attention who isn't his mother. As to the last one. It's shown in cannon that Palps can use the force to choke people to death via holocom. So probably.

@@AlexanderNash No need to fight you. I think it's definitely in the top 4, which, in my opinion, are all pretty much tied for the top spot. Star Wars (A New Hope to you younger fans), Empire Strikes Back, and Rogue One are the other three that are right up there with it. ANH because it WAS the one that started this whole thing, and revolutionized the way movies were made. Empire because of it's "shocking twist" that no one saw coming in 1980, RotS because, well, it's fully bad-ass, and Rogue One because of how it details just how the Rebels stole the plans for the Death Star in the firs place. Also, that Vader hallway scene. If you want to make it "top 5", then Jedi comes in that spot. But the top 4 are pretty much tied for that "top spot".

The jedi council basically assuming anakin was dangerous or a threat to the jedi and treating him as such, was actually part of the reason he turned to the dark side in the first place. Maybe if the council didn't treat him with such suspicion he would have been loyal to them instead of palpatine. I think this is part of what Yoda is talking about when he says "Failed, I have".

Couple things: 1. Yes. Darth Plageus and Palpatine were responsible for the creation of Anakin. His plan was to create the ultimate being, the Chosen One, by throwing the force out of balance. Yes. Palpatine was the apprentice who kills him. So, when Anakin and Palpatine are sitting at the opera, in that one scene, he’s basically telling him “I’m your father”. Interestingly, if you were to go back and watch attack of the clones, the representative for the Banking Clan, allying themselves with Dooku and the separatists, is the same species as Plageus. 2. Despite Anakin losing his limbs, getting burned alive, and getting put in a bulk, painful, mostly robotic iron lung suit, this is not what makes him “weaker”. These are things Vader slowly overcomes. It’s when Palpatinelies to his apprentice about the death of his wife, in the hopes that losing the last of his ties would make him the ultimate Sith apprentice. While we do see for a short amount of time the raw strength of Vader’s rage, this is what ultimately breaks him. It fills him with hate, but instead of using this against everyone and anything around him, he turns against himself. He becomes depressed. Since Sidious is the last connection Vader has, this is why he never goes through taking his place. Thus, Sidious seems Vader a failure and schemes to have him replaced one day. It’s not until Vader learns that the rebel who destroyed the Death Star was his lost child, does he regain some personal motivation and purpose. 3. I always say the conversation Obi-Wan and Anakin have on the river of lava come across as: “You should have told me the Council was plotting to overthrow the Chancellor after Grivous was killed.” Obi-Wan does not deny this. In fact: he justifies this by telling him: “Yo man, he’s evil.” Which is kinda a stupid reason, practically. From the outsider’s perspective: Palpatine helped build an army, win a war, and give the Republic a new sense of purpose. Who cares if he’s evil or a Sith. What even is that?” Obi-Wan knew this is what the council was plotting to do this, or had an idea of this, and kept this from Anakin. Which is the final straw for the man.

Grievous actually has a very tragic story Basically, before he was a cyborg, he was a Kaleesh warrior (reptilian species). An alien species called the Huk were trying to enslave the Kaleesh people. At the time, Grievous had a girlfriend, who was also a warrior. The Huk killed his girlfriend, and Grievous couldn't even find the body, as it was now in Davy Jones locker. This is when Grievous changed his name to "Grievous" his name before was "Q'yaeunn" or something like that. Enraged, Grievous made a counter attack to the Huks home planet. Grievous and his warriors were just about to win the war, until the Huk contacted the Jedi. The Jedi's --without looking into the details and the fact that the Huk were the enslavers-- started fighting the Kaleesh. Eventually, the Kaleesh people had to retreat, and got fined by the Republic for the war. Now, the home planet of Kalee had starving Kaleesh people everywhere. They went into extreme poverty. By now Grievous had an extreme hatred for the Jedi. This is when Count Dooku and Sidious contacted Grievous. The offer was that the CIS would keep the Kaleesh people from dying, and would pay their bills, as long as Grievous was a council member. They saw this as an opportunity to get a great warrior. Hesitantly, Grievous agreed. Grievous was a council member for a little while, and the Kaleesh people were doing well. After a while, Grievous wanted to quit, as his home planet was doing fine. But Dooku and Sidious couldn't let that happen. They rigged the shuttle that Grievous was gonna use, and rigged it to explode. Grievous almost died in the explosion, so Dooku gave him cybernetic parts in order to survive. Dooku also told him that the Jedi were the ones who shot down the ship, only fueling Grievous's hatred. Dooku had also added cybernetics to Grievous's brain, making him more loyal to Dooku. Dooku then taught him how to use lightsabers. Now Grievous was a Jedi killer. He hunted Jedi and took their lightsabers as trophies. He was also a General and commanded the Droid army. Grievous truly had a tragic life.

Also, I'll add in some clarity. This isn't like Expanded Universe, it comes from the novelization... So Anakin is having the death dreams. He researches that there may be the info he needs to save Padme in the Jedi Archives in these storage devices called holocrons. They even have a few Sith holocrons. However, to get to the deep arcane holocrons and Sith ones, you have to be a Master. So when Palpatine put him on the Council, Anakin thinks he has soled his issue. But when Mace tells him he's on the Council but not a Master, that's why he's mad and frustrated. It's not cause he wants power or to just be a Master. It creates another wedge in that the Jedi just keep roadblocking him. Palpatine keeps offering him solutions, the Jedi blocking. Oh and think of Grevious as a Vader prototype. He was an alien and is now a cyborg, so sort of Beta test Vader. He is coughing to show he's organic and not a battle droid, but in the Clone Wars animated, Mace and him fight and Mace crushes his lungs and damages him, hence the cough.

Yeah, it’s speculated (maybe even outright stated in books that might not be canon anymore) that Plaguis and Sidious were messing with the force in ways that actually made the Force react, thus creating Anakin. He’s like the universe creating an antibody to rectify a huge imbalance of power.

Lucas himself confirmed there was only really one alternate course of events that could have saved Anakin. That is if Qui Gon had lived. He doesn’t elaborate passed that, except to say, that that’s why the song is called Duel of the Fates when they fight Darth Maul, because Anakin’s fate was literally in the balance. My interpretation of it is thar Anakin, as an older child with connections to his mother and the need for relationships, was different than the other students who are taken as infants and raised in the temple. For him to properly develop, he needed a deeper connection in his life and he needed someone who would not ALWAYS follow the rules. Qui Gon was a little bit of a rebel Jedi. He didn’t always follow the code, because he knew that out in the real world, you had to react to the Force in the moment. He would have been capable of reading Anakin, catering his learning to his needs, perhaps even rescuing his mother and even helping him balance his love and relationship with Padme with his place as a Jedi. So no, Padme was never gonna bring Anakin back to the light, whether Obi Wan was with him or not.
@Dacre1000
@Dacre1000 3 жыл бұрын
I agree. In a way, Qui Gon would have been a good father figure. Unfortunately, he got the bad father figure in Sidious. Both trilogies are about father son relationship really. In one the son saves the father, and in the other the father dooms the son. Obi Wan, bless him, tried, but he was an elder brother, not a father. A fatherly one, but still... I always loved in fact how Lucas mirrors the transformation. In Jedi the son is laying on the floor begging his father to save him, and Anakin does, saving his own soul in the process. While here, Sidious is the one lying on the floor begging to be saved, and Anakin dooms himself by doing so.

Lucas likes his “rhyming” thematic elements. Lol. The moments do echo each other, but I always like to point out that Anakin’s doesn’t fall because of his attachments. He falls because he gets obsessive and possessive. By contrast, Luke is grounded by his attachments, but he’s so selfless that he puts everyone above himself and so makes better decisions ultimately. It is, in fact, Anakin’s attachments that eventually save him. Without them, he’s unlikely to make the decision to help Luke in ROTJ.
@josephlamicela1996
@josephlamicela1996 2 жыл бұрын
@@Dacre1000 ultimately I tend to interpret the two trilogies as “this is how attachment can destroy you” and “this is how attachment can save you”. I always kind of hated the whole “Jedi are sexless monks who can’t have families thing. It bothered me that Star Wars characterizes deep emotional connection as a gateway drug to the dark side, and it reminds me of the people I’ve known who have maintained healthy relationships vs the ones who become codependent and obsessive. I’m a big fan of the old novels that came out prior to the prequels and the concept of the celibate Jedi. I watched Luke get married and have a kid and even when tragedy struck, he maintained his goodness despite wanting to succumb to rage and anger because he used good psychological coping mechanisms. To me the image of Anakin embraced by the light can only be read as an example of positive attachment and the selflessness of real love (father/son) vs the twisted and possessive version he engaged in with Padme.

“I’m curious what happened between Anakin and Obi-Wan, for Anakin to trust the Chancellor like that.” Here’s what I’ll say to that-Anakin and Obi-Wan’s relationship was complicated, and there were some things Anakin couldn’t trust Obi-Wan with, which he highly likely told Palpatine. Palpatine knew Anakin just as long as Obi-Wan did, and he played the father figure role to perfection. Tbh, the only Jedi who would’ve been equipped to train Anakin in the way he needed …was Qui-Gon. Jedi were pretty much raised at a very young age-younger than Anakin was when he met Qui-Gon. That’s because younglings haven’t fully developed emotional attachments to their families and loved ones, so it’s easier for them to not hold onto those they’re taken away from. Qui-Gon understood that emotions - both negative and positive - were natural and healthy-a sentiment most Jedi did not agree with. This was a major reason why Qui-Gon never made it to the High Council. There’s moments in The Phantom Menace where Obi-Wan didn’t agree with Qui-Gon’s stances, as Obi-Wan had mostly adhered to the Jedi’s way of life. That’s why Qui-Gon’s death was so impactful. Only Qui-Gon would’ve helped Anakin navigate his emotions and transition into Jedi way of life. Up until the Duel with Maul, Obi-Wan didn’t trust Anakin and honestly agreed with the High Council as to why Anakin shouldn’t have been trained. So in some ways, Anakin wasn’t lying in Episode II when he said Obi-Wan was holding him back… because you can argued he definitely did. Obi-Wan only took on that responsibility out of respect to Qui-Gon’s memory. Anakin’s future as Vader was sealed the moment Maul plunged that lightsaber in Qui-Gon’s stomach, hence “Duel of the Fates”.

For all the hatred Anakin feels, it's mostly directed at himself. He betrayed his fellow Jedi, the man who he considered brother and father all for the woman he loved and in the end. . .it was all for nothing. That's what he sees and that is why it is so easy for Palpatine to control him now, because Vader believes there's nothing left for him in the galaxy.

When Palpatine killed Plagueis, he was aware of Anakin's existence and actively groomed him to become his future apprentice. Poor kid was literally born to be a tool of the Sith. In regards to your, "what if?' scenario, the real question is what would have happened had Anakin's apprentice not been expelled from the Jedi Order. In between episodes 2 and 3 he had an apprentice that fought with him during the Clone Wars and functioned as sort of a voice of reason and conscience. The Darth Plagues thing is just a Deus Ex Machina. George needed a way to entice Anakin to the Dark side so Sidious just happens to know the techniques of Plagues to tempt Anakin, cause Anakins biggest fear is LOSING those he loves, his Mother and now possibly Padme. Also if you listen to the part where Sidious says Plagues is killed by his apprentice and it was ironic cause of Plagues powers thats becuase Sidious was Plagues apprentice, hence how he knows about the power to save others. Also the Opera Scene is considered the BEST scene of the Prequels. @@wolfpredator1000 TCW may be a bigger time investment than 2003 CW but it is a lot more than just filler. It develops the friendship between Anakin and Obi-Wan much more than the movies. It makes Anakin's fall to the dark side a lot more believable as the jedi council screws over both him and his padawan. It gives the clones and the jedi a lot more personality and gives the clones a reason for executing order 66 without question, which makes it even more tragic. It gives more screen time to Dooku and Grievous and shows the power gap between Dooku and Anakin slowly closing. It shows the political manipulations by Palpatine to gain more power and slowly turn the republic into the empire. It introduces a new protagonist (Ahsoka) and new antagonists like Darth Maul who have great story arcs of their own. It first introduces the Mandalorians and thus laid the groundwork for The Mandalorian. I have nothing against 2003 CW. It is great in its own right. But TCW did so much world building and character development that it really enhances the prequels and Star Wars in general. I'd argue that TCW is some of the best Star Wars content out there.

@@maltemartin4580 The clones are clones, not your friends, you think an endless war for three years gives people "personality"? That adds no tragedy, that's just for emotional fragile fans who can't take cold blood betrayal. The Obi-Wan/Anakin friendship happens nowhere in the show, they barely are together in every season. Anakin felt to the dark side to save Padme. not because of the order, in fact that takes away the drastic decision that Anakin made on his own. Grievous fails at everything he does. It never shows how Palpatine gains power because of one scene where Padme turns the senate to HER side, so save the lies. Ahsoka has nothing going on on her own besides getting her feelings hurt by the order not trusting her, and Maul's arc serves no purpose to the overall story, that's just random filler that will make no difference if it was deleted. It doesn't introduce the mandalorians first, you amateur. TCW only makes the galactic republic seem like a few random villages per planet instead of massive cities to make it actually look believable.

General Grievous was not a droid, rather he was a cyborg, part machine, part alien. In the Clone Wars cartoon there is an episode where the General meets Mace Windu. Mace forces him to flee, but before he can get away, Mace uses the Force to partialy crush his chest, damaging his lungs, hence the cough. Edit: Mace Windu did not die at the end of the fight with Sidius. He jumped from the window. Edit 2: in Padmes death scene, listen closely to the background noises...there is a heartbeat sound...the same is true of the Vader reconstruction scene...but the beats are out of sync...at first. Sidious used Padmes life force to try and save Vader, who's damage was so great that even with all that was done to save him, he was still dieing. Padmes life force was still not enough (and she dies, so Sidious wasn'treally lieing, Anikin did kill her, in a way), so Sidious ends up tying Vaders life force to his own. That was why Sidious' death in Jedi sealed his fate, and he tells Luke 'it's too late for me now.'

I believe the Sith names went like this: - Originally George creates a story with lots of background details to give it a rich palette from which he can draw to create at least one, hopefully three, movies - Those background details are in a constant state of flux as the story grows and he, being the ultimate decision-maker about that universe, decides what makes it better or worse - an example being that Luke was originally called Luke Starkiller, not Skywalker. - when he named the main villain from the original Star Wars movie, he decided on Darth Vader as a quasi-Dark Father inference. This served the original purpose well enough. I believe that in Dutch the wording is pretty close. - Later, when he decided to create the Prequels, there were many things he had to give meaning to. At that point we know that he decides to imply that ‘Darth’ is a Sith title, like Padawan of Master is for Jedi. So then, when naming Palpatine’s Sith persona, he plays with dropping the ‘In’ from Invader and Insidious - why else would the word Sidious be used. I’m aware that Maul, Tyranus, and Plagueis don’t fit this, nor does Revan or some others from the EU, but Invader vs Insidious is just too obvious to be a coincidence. It might not have been George’s original intention in the mid-70s, but it definitely had to have formed his decision for the Prequels.

Pre-disney canon... there were about a dozen chances in this movie where Anakin wouldn't have fallen or turned back good. Making him a master instead of being petty, Anakin wouldn't fall. the Jedi finding out Anakin is having dreams about Padme's death and that's why he's desperate, Anakin wouldn't fall. Obi-Wan being on Coruscant when Anakin told the Council Sidious was Palpatine, Anakin wouldn't have fallen. Obi-Wan would either have kept him at the Temple or been with Windu, Palpatine wouldn't have lasted against them. And if he did, Obi-Wan could've kept Anakin in check while Palpatine was killed. Lot of chances. Sidious turned him because he made himself Anakin's only option.

I don't think much would have changed if Obi-Wan hadn't shown up there. Honestly, I already think it would be very difficult for Anakin to change his mind at that end because he was already very paranoid and fallen to the dark side, I think it would be much more likely that he would try to force Padme to join his new empire. But even assuming Padme managed this, if Obi-Wan hadn't shown up, the whole republic would still have gone to hell and over 90% of the Jedi exterminated at that point. The existence of the Empire and the return of Sith oppression was already a reality at that point, the only thing that would change is that Anakin would run away from his crimes and hide in some corner of the galaxy (Of course, in this scenario the Empire would lose a strong ally, which would be Darth Vader, but I don't think this improves the situation that much tbh. And I think Palpatine would have moved his ass to find a new apprentice somewhere, probably not as strong as Vader, but someone who would still fill that empty space he would leave in the Empire).

And yes, Sidious was responsible for Anakin's dreams of Padme dying. Vader pulled a similar (more crude version) trick on Luke in episode 5 to lure him tro cloud city. Sith names tend to have some meaning to what they are. Sidious was insidious, Vader (Dutch for father) was Luke's father, Traya was treacherous, Tyranus functioned as a dictator to the trade alliance, Maul was a blunt instrtument etc... There is also the bit that the force itself has a will and can change the way someone thinks. Once a character dives too far to the dark side they become unable to see that they are being manipulated and doing evil deeds. At that point they desire to do that evil. They don't need some trauma or mental illenss to go full psychopath, the dark side at that point takes over. While it's not impossible for someone to return to the light side no matter how far they fall, it becomes ever more difficult as they are deeper in the dark side. It tends to take something drastic for someone so wrapped in the dark side to pull out. Luke being in direct mortal danger is what eventually did that for Anakin. Sidious underestimated that pesky parental instinct. But that is also why a part of sith training is that they have to kill someone they truely care about (usually a parent) to fully cross the morale event horizon. I think that for Anakin, Sidious meant the younglings to be that with Padme being out of his reach at that point though Padme's death eventually fully turned Anakin into Vader. Plagueis was still alive during the time of episode 1 too which means Sidious broke the rule of two when he trained Maul. Disney made the story where Sidious was responsible for creating Anakin canon though considering Plagueis never got around to teaching Sidious the details of how to create life before getting killed, that version just makes less sense then the novel that describes Plagueis trying to create life and the midochlorians/the force reacting by creating Anakin instead. Another possibility is that Plagueis succeeded in using the dark side to create Anakin and so triggered the light side to create Grogu (baby Yoda) to balance this out as both are a similar age. Unfortionaly Lucas wasn't the most sensibel writer and Disney chose to throw away the entire expanded universe because they wanted to have creative freedom (resulting in the abominations they called episodes 8 and 9).

if anyone else has told you these things....apologies. (hate repeating) Hayden Christiansen asked (if not begged) to be in the Darth Vader suit. so that's him at the end in the suit. Obi Wan has three "call back moments" - when he's in the elevator he says, about Anikin jumping out, "always on the move". call back to him on Tatooeen helping Luke up about the Sand people coming back...he says "quickly. they're on the move". when he jumps down to face Grevous he says "hello there". on Tatooeen when her finds Luke on the ground and is checking on him, he hears R2, looks over and says, "hello there". and after he shoots Grevous with the blaster, he looks at it and says "so uncivilized". calling back to when he gives Luke the light saber...he says "not as clumsy or random as a blaster. an elegant weapon....for a more civilized age". Originally, in Return of the Jedi, Lucas wanted the forrest moon to be full of Wookies. and they were supposed to be the "primitives". but he realized that, with Chewie being as intelligent as he was, the idea of other Wookies being less intelligent wouldn't work. so, since he couldn't have them in battle in that one....he put them in this one.

Palpatine and Mace Windu both saying “he’s too dangerous to be kept alive” is what convinces Anakin that the Jedi were not as good as they claim to be. George Lucas said about movies “they are like poetry, they have to rhyme” You’ll notice a lot of symmetry in his movies. I feel that if Qui Gon had survived in episode 1, he would have been able to guide Anakin through his emotion. Obi-Wan wasn’t ready to be a master (certainly not the master to the Chosen One) and he tried to be strict like he thought a master should be. Sadly, because of that, Anakin couldn’t open up to him about his feelings for Padme. There’s a line in episode 1 that shows Qui-Gon is used to toe the line of the Jedi code.

Considering Anakin was slaughtering women and children before he even became a jedi,...he wasn't so "good" either.

There is a book called Darth plagueis. It is about Darth plagueis the sith lord. He manipulates the republic to put a Sith in charge. Palpatine was his student. Siths always try to kill their masters when they are able to. Darth plagueis was really into banking, investments and politics with his alternate persona. Palpatine kills plagueis right before he becomes chancellor.

I know _someone_ probably said it already, but Clone Troopers aren’t Stormtroopers. The production of Clone troopers was discontinued after the war, and the Stormtroopers we see in the OT are completely average citizens that have been recruited from all corners of the galaxy. This is why they can barely hit anything - they aren’t copies of the best assassin in the Galaxy, they’re normal people like you and me.

Darth Plagueis is the posthumous overarching antagonist of the Star Wars franchise. Born under the name of Hego Damask II, and remembered as Darth Plagueis the Wise, is a Muun Dark Lord of the Sith, heir to the lineage of Darth Bane and a master of midi-chlorian manipulation. He lived during the century leading up to the Invasion of Naboo. Obsessed with eternal life, Plagueis experimented with ways to cheat death and create new life from the midi-chlorians. His great contribution to the history of the galaxy was training Emperor Palpatine in the ways of the Sith and the dark side of the Force, whom he incited to take control of the galaxy and bring about an age of the Sith. Sidious, convinced that his master had outlived his usefulness, eventually killed him in his sleep. Years later, Sidious (in his civilian guise of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine) recounted Plagueis' story as The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise, an old "Sith legend", to sway Anakin Skywalker to the dark side.

A few things : 1. Palpatine used the force to steal Padme's life energy to give to Vader so he would live. 2. Palpatine planted the vision of Padme dying into Anakin's head. 3. When Anakin is crying in the Jedi temple ( before he goes to Mace and Palpatine ) it is because he is crying for the things he is going to do. And when he is crying on mustafar ( which stands for Chosen One ) he is crying because of the things he has done including but not limited to killing the younglings. 4. When Anakin kills the younglings , the youngling who said " master Skywalker there are too many of them what are we going to do " was made to resemble a young Anakin Skywalker ( by request of George Lucas ) to show Vader destroying Anakin until Luke helped Anakin destroy Vader at the end of Ep. 6. Also when the youngling stepped back in fear , this is because Hayden Christensen ( Anakin/Vader ) adlibbed the line " boo " to scare him for authenticity. 5. Vader didnt go looking for Luke or Leia because he presumed that the baby/babies died along with Padme. 6. Darth Plagueis is Anakin's father. 7. The original sequence of them ( Anakin + Obi-Wan ) going to rescue the Emperor was initially 1 hour long.

Grevious' cough was an Easter egg from the original Clone Wars cartoon (2003) . This episode backs up almost exactly to Revenge of the Sith. General Grevious and the Separatists have blitzed Coruscant and captured Chancellor Palpatine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2HKn6qvjrd7q5o

Actually, the origin of Stormtroopers can be seen in the animated series The Bad Batch. But you should watch The Clone Wars series first.

Darth Tyrannis (Dooku) provided blood from the frozen body of Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas as a means of keeping Grievous's body alive during his transit to Geonosis, where Poggle the Lesser and his Geonosian scientists implanted his brain and eyes into a duranium alloy body reminiscent of a Krath war droid, complete with LX-44 robotic legs.
