The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Could Be Better
Subscribe: bit.ly/Subscribe-to-CBR
Star Wars fans can be pretty picky about what part additions to the canon that they don’t like. After waiting for sixteen years for a new entry the anticipation had grown out of control. There was no way for the new movies to live up to our expectations and as a result we’ve become extra critical of the prequels. While we may have become too precious with our fandom of Star Wars, there are still some things that just didn’t land when it came to the prequels. But they’re not beyond repair. We don’t have to tell an entirely different story to ‘fix’ the prequels, we just have to adjust a few decisions here or there. Whether it’s an attempt to explain the Force as an infection of midi-chlorians or taking a moment to reconsider the romantic weight of not liking sand, it would just take a tweak here or there might have taken the prequels from a disappointment for some to a set of movies that could have woven in and given weight to the existing trilogy and a place for subsequent movies to go. This mostly revolves around what might be the most important astromech in the galaxy far, far away. R2-D2 was the unsung hero of the original trilogy and a slight adjustment to who built what could have made all the difference in the world. Let’s take a look at what changes could have fixed the prequels for past and future fans of the Star Wars franchise.

"Forget the past... Kill it if you have to". LOL Disney has begun to realize that Kathleen Kennedy's "vision" for the franchise was utter sh1t. All of their current projects involve characters or the time period around the prequels and/or original trilogy. Out of the TEN new shows announced, not ONE of them are based on the sequel trilogy and its garbage characters.

I always had the impression that both Anikan and Luke both must of been tinkering on R2 because it was for each of them a special confidant because very few people even bother to learn functional astromech basics. Yet they were both very fluent in it. Even Kenobi mentioned about Anikan this once in the Clone Wars.

First, that Jar Jar isn't a Sith lord really bummed me out. Now, if I may, maybe we could get the sequel trilogy (7, 8, & 9) knocked out of canon by turning them into a fevered Force dream of Luke's, informing him of what NOT to do? Then - integrating aspects of the new, various Disney+ series' storylines - they could be rewritten and remade to be the truly epic tale that they should have been, and that all of us fan boys and girls truly deserve? This is the way.

I would have liked to have seen a conversation between Yoda and Qui-Gon's Force ghost near the end of Episode III in which Qui-Gon asked why Yoda didn't offer to help Obi-Wan train Anikan, why didn't the Jedi look into the Trade Federation's implied connection with the Sith, and Yoda replied that he always feared that the Jedi were just as much the cause of the imbalance in the Force as the Sith, and the Chosen One's mission was to destroy both orders. This would connect with what Yoda meant in Episode V when he said there was another hope: he knew the prophecy was unfolding as it was meant to.

I'd like to note, the Midichlorians did not produce the Force, but were intermediates, allowing a connection between the Force and the users in return for safety inside the user's body. Basically, the Midichlorians directly had something, like how certain things can affect magnetic pulls for example, that would connect them to the Force, and connected it to the user, like an electric charge that is perfect for creating a field in the Force. George planned to explain this more and go deeper into the Force in his Sequels, and did some in the Mortis and Yoda's Journey arcs of The Clone Wars. But, y'know how it all went down.

On Mustifar, Padame suffered severe neurological damage due to Anikin/Vader try to use the darkside to force persuade her to forgive him. "Ani your tearing me apart!" Was Padame literally feeling the darkside trying to rewrite/erase memories. This could result in a fatal depletion of the nuerochemicals the force manipulates to control individuals. Her brain stem was damaged beyond repair. A simple line of dialog from the medical droid saying the brain damage is like nothing in his databanks. Like a black energy consuming her mind would suffice.

What’s up CBR! I can get past Jar Jar, but there is a “tweak” that I would have LOVED to see explained/changed....and that is Shmi Skywalker. More accurately, what took Anakin so long to return to Shmi Skywalker🤔 In Episode 1, Anakin promised his mother that he would become a Jedi and free her one day. He was EXTREMELY passionate about that. By the time Anakin felt that Shmi was hurt and in trouble, he was already an extremely powerful Force-user. At any point (and I mean ANY point) during his training with Obi-Wan, he could have returned to Tatooine, grabbed Shmi (and maybe even some of his former friends), freed them and left. It was never explained or hinted to why Anakin forgot his promise. Had they simply left that part out and had Shmi say something like: “You’re free now Anakin. You have a chance for a much better life. You can see to it that freedom reigns throughout ALL the galaxy. Train hard Anakin. Train hard to become the best Jedi there ever was”, then Anakin’s passion to be so powerful would be understood. He’d have a REASON for seeking to be more powerful all the time....his mother told him to. Only then can he see true justice in the galaxy. What a twist that would have been! In her quest to help her son, she would have inadvertently planted seeds in him that sent him down a path of power...and destruction. THAT is my tweak. Episode 1 has Anakin’s passion being to save his mother, which he never even tried to do. Anakin’s passion should have been to bring justice to the galaxy. No slavery. No crime. Only justice. And the way to it given to him by his own mother...to be more powerful. This is the way. I have spoken....
@MrZackavelli
@MrZackavelli 3 жыл бұрын
I greatly disagree with that. For one, it definitely goes against Shmi's character. Shmi telling Anakin to become the most powerful Jedi ever makes her sound like one of those beauty pageant moms. The reason for Anakin wanting power is blatantly spelled out in the films. He wants to become the most powerful Jedi ever after his mom died. His quest for power is to keep the ones he loves from dying. It's not a position of greed, it's a position of compassion. Shmi's death is a much better motivating factor for Anakin to become more powerful than Shmi just telling him to do so; and it's a much better buildup to show Anakin dealing with his mother's death and his resulting rage as a prelude to his eventual fall. Padawans aren't allowed autonomy. Once they pass the trials, then they get to be autonomous. Anakin capitalizes on the first assignment where he's not under strict surveillance by Obi-Wan to go see his mother. He wasn't allowed to do so before that.

Ngl I actually liked the sequel trilogy. My favorite movie actually is, I know that its crazy, Attack of the Clones. It has a decent story, loooovvveee, and jedi? Frickin Jedi. Not 1 parading around the galaxy with a group of friends. But jedi with crazy fights and actual cool lightsabers. No hate on the og trilogy tho, nothing will ever beat that.

1) Midichlorians: No, this is not something that can be removed because, at the end, Star Wars NEEDED a reason into WHY certain force users were exceptionally more powerful than others beyond just age and experience. Without midichlorians, there would be no way to explain how Vader was able to help nearly wipe out the Jedi without so many jedi at the temple were much older than he was, and without midichlorians to explain his power, means that they'd literally have to pull something much more assanign out of their ass to do so (the same with Palpatine where, due to age alone, Yoda would have been able to one shot Palps if medichlorians weren't a thing and they went off age). 2) Nothing wrong with R2, he didn't take anything away from the films, didn't hurt any scenes, and added lore to the character. 3) Who cares if Yoda knew Chewbacca or not? Chewbacca in RotS is over 300 years old and Yoda was hitting 900. The romance between Anakin and Padme are fine, only issue being some dialogue issues, but Lucas has always been known for sub par dialogue (and if you're willing to give ANH a pass, than you cannot complain about the prequels dialogue which did have better dialogue and acting overall). Anakin's turn isn't meant to just be viewed at from RotS, we're talking a relationship between Anakin and Palpatine where Palpatine, Anakin's literal father figure, has been manipulating Anakin for 15 years, implanting ideals into Anakin, making Anakin question the Jedi. Hell, people seem to ignore that Anakin and Palpatine had been spending time together since TPM, which takes place 10 years prior to AotC, and AotC takes place 5 years before RotS, 5 more years for Palpatine to push Anakin towards the Dark Side. So no, these are not really problems with the film like this video suggests.

Interesting point to bring up. Why would shmee need C-3PO? Well he’s a kid lol idk if it has to make sense. So you’re saying he should have built R2 and not 3PO? I guess that makes sense. Not a plot hole necessarily but a way to make it mean more and I agree

I have no problem with Padme dying after giving birth; the children were conceived with Anakin who had a great force sensitivity, perhaps they took her life force for greater strength. It's like if Superman impregnated Lois Lane.

Dear reader, if you are holding in your hands the book "Legends of the Phoenix" by A.V.Trehlebov,then in just a moment a magnificent journey awaits you filled with fascinating knowledge about the hidden history of our world and some of the most fascinating societal processes to ever occur. If you have already read a few dozen books on the subject but are still asking yourself the questions "Who am i?" "What is my purpose here?" or "Why do we die?" then this book will become a treasure within your library. If you are still searching for the answers to the age old questions of the origins of life on earth, the origins and evolution of our modern civilization, the origins of different races, the true history of the people on earth, our spiritual growth as humans, or the universal laws of the universe, then this book has come to you at the right time. Through years of scientific study, this non-fiction tractate is written in a simple yet fascinating manner and is suitable for all readers. The phoenix, as in the title of the book, is an ancient Russian symbol symbolizing the rebirth of Russia and the Slavic people. From folk tales it is written that these birds rise from their ashes, are then reborn in a magical flame and appear in a purer form. Since history has always been written by, and for the benefit of the current rulers, disregarding any previous facts or knowledge, we use the experience and heritage of our ancestors which have been laid out in the "Legends of the Phoenix." "Legends of the Phoenix" is devoted to the revival of the ancient, million year old culture and heritage of the Slavic people. The information in this book has deep roots from the Slavic Vedas dating back hundreds of thousands of years with knowledge not yet fully discovered by our modern civilization. Consisting of two parts, the first part "Origin of the Slavic-Aryans" discusses the root origins of the Slavic people, the ancient texts and archaeological monuments, the eon old Slavic ancestry, our beliefs, morals, commandments, and the answers to the mysterious wise tales of the Slavs. The second part called "The Path to Light" discusses the connection and meaning of the Slavic and Hindu Vedas, the stages of the ancient Slavic spiritual belief "Rodoveriye", the meaning of spiritual development, the paths and goals of our ancient societies, the wisdom behind each stage of life and how to get ready for and create virtuous offspring, the nature of divine and demonic entities and their purpose, the importance of understanding your inner self and past lives, the structure of all our energy bodies, the origins of the Vedas, what it means to have a non-dualistic view of the universe, and the secrets of the Golden Path.

Nope. That would've made the separation from his mom less impactful. 14 year-olds are in the phase of their life when they want to spread their wings and become independent. 10 year-olds are much more reliant on their parents.
