You're so brave painting the eyes last. I usually end up redoing the miniature's right eye (left one as held in the hand) a couple times to get it right, so I always do my eyes first, then paint the rest of the face around them.

Thanks a lot Curtis! That's good advice - I'll have to remember that for the next tiny-eyed figure I paint :)

You certainly have mastered the skill of color mixing to get the proper shades. Finding the right colors to use for highlighting is one of the biggest challenges for beginners I think. Thank you for another gorgeous video!

Great work! I have reached a milestone of my own this evening. I have finished painting my 100th IA miniature. I have just the echo base troopers, 4 of the rebel heroes and Lando left in my collection left to paint. Your tutorials are always a great source of inspiration. Keep up the good work.

Huge thanks for showing how to do different skin tones! I've been struggling to figure out how to do that for a few months. It's funny, I've done some cursory oil painting lessons but I had never thought to translate those techniques (like mixing in a complementary colour to darken a tone or creating a glaze) to model painting. Your videos are incredibly instructive. Thanks again!

This is literally my favorite channel on KZbin (Next to VBW Wrestling of course 😉 ) The quality of your work is astounding, and you present your techniques in such a simplified way that anyone could pick up the hobby. I play Descent, so I'm always looking forward to more of those vids! Really wish I could afford to donate, but in the meantime just know that the effort you put into these is EXTREMELY appreciated, at least as far as I'm concerned! Keep up the fantastic top notch work Sorastro, you got a big fan from Vancouver BC, Canada! 🖒🤘

When painting the troopers, how long should I wait for the prime to dry? As well as when I do each section? I’m new to painting so I honestly don’t know how long.

I love the imperial assault miniature range and really enjoy painting them (with huge thanks to you and your vids 👏🙌) these minis however appear to have a bit of a lean which is putting me off picking them up 🤔 what are they like in reality? Also do you play the game at all ? 👍

How do you actually store your miniatures for boardgames? I'm a little loathe to just keep them in that box even if they get a coat of varnish.

+cthulhuRAT All of my recent work is in a large display cabinet, but I do have a growing number of figures that are in need of proper storage; it's a problem I've yet to find a solution for I'm afraid!

Just wanted to get some advice. Currently I'm deployed to Qatar and just got these figures sent to me along with my paints. My brushes are about to be sent to me and with some primer, until I found out that aerosol items can not be sent overseas. Are there any brush on primers that you recommend?

Hi Joshua! Although I've not tried it myself yet, I believe Vallejo's brush-on white primer is fine :)

@Sorastro8 жыл бұрын
I've been so busy this last year or two (basically doing two jobs) that I've played very little, but now I'm down to "just" the one job (creating these videos) I'm hoping to get some more regular games in - especially when the co-op app comes out :)

While the skirmish is popular at Cons and weekend warriors who game in their spare time, I really do enjoy the Campaign Arc and story line aspect of the game. There is some bias of course, this is coming from a guy who work on West End Games' Star Wars role playing. If you're even 1/100 as meticulous of a strategist as you are a painter, you must CRUSH at the gaming table.
