For any level of game, from 1 person Indie to AA, 1 million copy's sold at 100$ a pop would be lauded as an insane commercial success but for AAA, they needed 6 million just to recoup costs. And I don't understand how Ubisoft is STILL alive since, since 2021, they lost money on Far Cry 6, Riders Republic, Roller Champions, Oddballers, Valiant Hearts: Coming Home, The Settlers: New Allies, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, XDefiant(dying), Star Wars Outlaws, I didn't include hand held and phone games as I don't know much of that market. Sure, the smaller titles didn't bleed into the hundreds of millions but with them currently only producing/distributing two titles that are actually profitable which are trying to transfuse faster than they're bleeding: "Tom Clancy's" titled games and Just Dance; and with the next 2 AC titles heading towards a barely profitable to actually losing money... I just don't get their absolute refusal to correct their market exposure and adopt a more middle of the road tone and approach.

The only good Star Wars games to come out since the 2000's, was Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor. I would say Battlefront, but that took how ever many years to get better and then as soon as it was getting better they pulled all support from it.

On Nexus, the download count for Star Wars Outlaws is 17k, with about 17 total mods since release. So, it's probably around 15k. I'd have to imagine sales for the game did not top 20k on PC.

Given how badly received the IGN previews were, the hilarious bug compilations, the backhanded reviews (like complimenting the world and graphics, but saying the gameplay was bad) from big outlets, and the general disdain for Disney Star Wars, I would not be surprised if that number is accurate. Add to that that it had the “largest marketing push of any Ubisoft game” behind it, for it to fail that hard is beyond embarrassing. Ubisoft is in serious danger of being shut down, and its only hope is to clean house and reevaluate what needs to be done to make amazing games. Because as long as the activists and current execs are in charge, it is heading straight towards bankruptcy.
