I'm working for twenty years as a mechanical engineer and designer and have created lots of sheet metal parts. Seeing your Dad forming this single, huge Sheet was really amazing! Such complex Forms need a lot of knowledge to bend them. Your fellow colleagues _Evan & Katelyn_ have created a transparent LCD Screen in one of their recent videos. That thing would look soo awesome in your Mobile Comm Unit!

It’s so cool to watch your dad think things though it reminds me of how my dad and I build cars together and watching your dad make something out of a flat piece of metal took me back when I watched my dad create a fender for a 68 Impala. It totally blew me away. The biggest thing he taught me was how to envision the end product and never give up. Both of you are totally incredible and have awesome vision. 👍❤️ loving this channel.

I thought MY dad had some great tools. Your dad’s shop is fantastic. I only got to use a metal brake once and that was in Metal Shop in jr. high school (and that was quite awhile ago). I made a star-shaped aluminum Jell-o mold out of its use. If I had it today, I guess I could use it to form some greeblies. Helmets off to the Junkyard Jedi!!

I had done a lot of welding and fabrication in my time. I wonder if the bend allowance was in mind with the bends. The thickness of the metal makes a difference when making bends, especially if you bend both directions.

Hmmm, an old monitor from a thrift store and a raspberry pi 4 you could make it actually work. LCD's are clear when you remove them from the frame and remove the back lighting unit. Cool project with lots of ideas for expansion. ;)

As soon as I heard him say "Vacu-form" I thought to myself, "Holy crow. All this work so far has just been for the buck." Super effort so far and if you guys can come up with a way to mass produce the metal "rings", I could see basic kits being sold in the future.
