Weaponized Assassin The Bendu is known for disappearing at will, so I don't see how this is any different. We know that he didn't die from the Blaster anyway, You can see it sizzling in the ground. Plus There are so many ways the Bendu can be used in the Future, Like Luke could end up finding him in TLJ and become a Bendu because he found fault in the Jedi Order.

you can still have arcs while focusing on the crew. Much better than the weekly rescue missions where they pair up, save someone from capture, get captured themselves, narrowly escape

They just really need things for the main characters that don't get immediately resolved. Ezra's initial dark side struggle (still feel like they could have gotten more mileage out if it), Callus's change of heart, and Sabine's Mandalorian fight are good examples. IMO Rex, Hera, Zeb, and to some extent Kanan felt a bit neglected.

The team definitely needs better writers, More specifically ones who develop a story and then proceed to make that character god. I've seen so many times where the ghost crew got out of stuff that legitimately nobody else could have, Hell I'm pretty sure in the first season they were surrounded by 30 stormtroopers who were against them all in a circle aiming at them and they still SOMEHOW won without a single wound.

I feel like Thrawn is more of a rival to Hera than to Kallus. They're both genius tacticians forming strategies to win the war. Plus Hera is pretty much the brains behind building the Rebel Forces and fleet, while Thrawn is trying to destroy everything she has built.

Darn it Tarkin and Konstantine! Thrawn outright told Tarkin that he couldn't guarantee prisoners in a buttle such as this, and Konstantine clearly had it with taking orders from a non-human, and just taking orders in general that he broke formation and pretty much set the stage turning overwhelming total victory into a Pyrrhic one. Yes, the leaders got away, the main cast live, but Thrawn has spent this shole season studying them and learning their movements, strategies and history. Heck, in episode nine, Inside Man, when looking at the Phoenix symbol on the wall the holograms in the back show off every member of the Ghost Crew. He knows who they are, their backgrounds, their motives. Imperial arrogance kept him from winning. I don't have access to watch Season 4 at present so I haven't even started, but I predict that Thrawn will take what he learned pretty much all of season 3 and start kicking butt in season 4.

It was a good episode, honestly wasn't expecting Bendu to go all "Ge' off my planet!" to both sides, but he did say he wanted no part in the fighting, yeah, Kannan definitely pissed him off. And I don't think he's dead, he vanished in what seemed like seconds, far faster than what yoda and Obi-wan did i think, plus you can clearly hear him laughing after the fact, and the fact there's a tiny scorch mark where Thrawn tried to shoot him, makes me think that conversation was all in thrawn's head, or he transformed so fast the blaster bolt didn't have time to reach him. I hope we see him again in some way, I liked him. As for Thrawn, i'm glad he survived, and if he survives season 4, then he'll probably bet sent into the unknown regions. Kallus was awesome too, he's definitely come a long way. I liked the banter between Rex and Zeb too, those two were funny, though I have always wondered what happened to Wolf and Gregger, haven't seen them since "Relics of the Old Republic"

I guess I would have liked the deaths to be a bit more personal. Some more cockpit shots of the Correlian Corvettes maybe. My thoughts: - I'm glad Kallus lived, although I would have rather seen at least one core member of the Ghost crew dead, for the narrative to develop. Attacks like that should not be escaped so easily (by the characters the audience most cares about) - I called Bendu becoming a threat from the episode in which we were introduced to his character. I asked if he could become an enemy of the Rebels and this was dismissed by most of the people who replied to my comment. Glad to see I was proven somewhat right - A damn good episode overall, but I agree with your point about Konstantine not having been used properly over the season to really develop a hatred for Thrawn.

Not really. Most of the deaths in Clone Wars were just side characters, but there were a lot more of them, since it was a huge war with hundreds of Jedi and thousands of clones. The rebellion is small, especially these smaller cells. With that said, they could have built up some pilots and minor commanders during this season, so they might die in this episode.

Yeah, but they were kind of an exception. Most characters didn't stay that long. Remember, they waited for many season to kill the characters from "Rookies". Rebels needs to build up more minor characters, and for longer, so killing them actually matters.

Ezra indirectly gave Kallus away in Through Imperial Eyes, because he had gotten too noticeable, at least to Thrawn, to go on disguise missions. If Thrawn didn't know Kallus was Fulcrum, and then tracked his transmission, he couldn't have found the base in time to prevent the assault on the Tie Defender factory.

That Bendu's example of Force storm was quite epic to see in show, I have only saw or heard of it on books/games which looks different. Only characters who are capable to such massive force storm I know are Palpatine, Vitiate and Dread Master Styrak. You don't get to say that Thrawn is less impressive in Rebels than in Outbound Flight. Rebels actually happened in the SW universe, OF did not. The Thrawn in Legends is not the same one in canon.

So I never delved into legends and by the time I learned of its existence, it was all deemed noncanon. So when Thrawn was announced for Rebels, I had only heard of him. All the legends fans were excited, and as a result, so was I. Thanks to season 3, and this episode, mostly, now I understand why people love Thrawn so much. Now I love Thrawn too.

I think they should have had the "Thrawn Works Out Where The Rebel Base Is" scene call back various things Thrawn observed over the series. For example, noting the response time of the rebels in Iron Squadron, cross-referencing with the 94 planets from Warhead to make a sort of Venn diagram. Then drawing Kallus's transmission through the middle of that zone, then noticing that there's no match, call in Kallus's Imperial training, pointing out the Empire favours austerity and symmetry, and using the decoy planet's placement to infer the actual location of the rebel base.

Aswell this seems like a filler episode, The empire lost a character with alot more personality then sato, Aswell every single rebel escaped unarmed with not even a wound. None of the rebels aside were sato were in any way cared for, they were generic and they only had 30% of there face so seeing them die is like seeing the average generic stormtrooper get shot, which infact feels worse as they've had more personality development and insight look then the rebel soldiers.

Very happy with the finale even though i really want to know more about the Bendu. In addition i think you are totally right that most of the questions we had in the end of season 2 did not get answered or contributed to the current storyline. Hopefully season 4 will bring loads of answers as i have a feeling we are getting our last season and potentially the start of something new for Animated Star Wars.

Maybe near the end of season four we have an imperial meeting with vader, tarkin, thrawn, and the emperor to discus the rebels. the emperor sends tarkin to deal with the (along with vader) and then send Thrawn to the unknown regions in order to map it out.

Kanan' attempt to recruit the Bendu. Reminds me of serveral similar situations in Merlin season 2. Where Merlin goes to the Dragon for advice but he's stubborn about it and only giving it to him. Hell the Bendu reminds me a lot of the Great Dragon/Kilgharrah.

Overall, rebels is an OK show but these episodes are disappointing IMO. As usual everything goes well and they end up winning even when they get defeated..... The fact the crew never loses and that no real major rebel character died this season is pretty boring. During both episodes I had so many questions going through my mind. Why didn't they bomb the rebels until they get anihilated instead of making a ground assault and having their butts kicked or if they wanted prisonners so much why not besiege them and wait for their surrender? Why didn't they send all their TIE fighters instead of 6 fighters to counter and destroy the mandalorians? The empire are supposed to be relentless, merciless experts, yet they take stupid decisions and make rookie mistakes. When will this show become better? Disney has to make this show a bit more mature cause you can clearly see the target audience is little kids and not Star Wars enthusiasts in general. Clone Wars was a way superior "kids" show. I find it kinda sad, they were finally making progress, with the previous episode with Maul's death. This episode was awesome. Finally a major character out of the picture. They could have at least killed Kallus this time. I don't have high hopes for season 4. If the show continues to be so predictable, I'm pretty sure it will end up like this: Kanan and Ezra will just flee and hide from other force sensitive people to justify why you don't see them in the OT. Sabine will go back to her family and not fight the empire and Zeb will go back to his home planet.

Albeit they did do alot of stupid stuff like kanan surviving a direct orbital hit and being thrown from a exploding speeder then being able to cut the legs off a AT-AT while doing a back flip less then four hours later, Thrawn's general plan worked if it wasn't for the bendu (and for some to next no reason a person basically disobeying thrawn which would lead to court marshal and him doing it for no reason as in the entire show he never showed anything aganst thrawn) My hopes in all honestly were for rex or zeb to die and somebody getting captured, I did expect that atleast kallus would die and somebody else would be captured, Sato's death was really stupid in all honestly, His character was barely developed and frmo the start he seemed like a throwaway character with next to no personality

I said if it continues being so predictable and overall my prediction is no one from the main crew dies and they get an obvious reason related to at least one previous season as of why you don't see them in episode 4 to 6. it's Disney after all, no one dying or people living happily when the story ends is the safest prediction.

Juan Strong well they didn't take any real risk in 3 seasons of Rebels and also didn't take risks for their Star Wars movies so far. Like no risk at all, it was a lot of fan service tbh. TFA was a remake of episode 4 and Rogue One didn't bring anything new either. Plus I'd like to add that besides the last scene of R1, the movie wasn't that good. At least to me it was disappointing. They should have chosen a completely different approach, mainly focusing on Galen Irso, Jyn and Saw Guerrera. It took way too much time to actually see them steal the plans, which was what people bought their tickets for.

Star Wars Explained. Hey Alex! When I saw the Rebel pilot with the mustache I thought you might like it. At least Sato and Mykappa won’t be bothering anymore. I didn’t like how The Bendu’s prediction to Thrawn might lead to him having a breakdown and let his doubts and fears contribute to his defeat at the hands of the REBELS.

This was a love letter to thrawn in the best way. This episode was so cinematic and well paced I might save this for a triple feature: Zero hour > Rogue one > episode 4. I agree with the video's critiques though, well done.

Zero Hour is better than Rogue One in my opinion. Rogue One was mostly boring. If the Battle of Scarif, The Attack on Eadu, or if the scene where Vader choked Krennic wasn't there, it wouldn't have been as liked as much.

I think the Death Troopers were probibly assigned after the assassination attempt. They were basically just bodyguards for key Imperial figures, and Thrawn was key to Palp's expatiation efforts.

I didn't think that Thrawn would be killed, and I'm very glad that he wasn't. But when I noticed that those Death Troopers were with him for almost the entirety of the episode, I was a LITTLE nervous.

did anyone notice one of the ships in the episode was from Return of the Jedi? I forgot what it was called it had a brief look in return of the Jedi and appeared in Rogue One but in star wars rebels recon they mention it will appear in rebels and it did, it's good to see something so that is barely remembered showing up again

I want thrawn to live and the reason he is not in return of jedi was because he was in the unknown regions. he was in the unknown regions for let's says 5-10 years. the end of season four would be than completely destroying the rebels only to be foils by something but because of how smart he is he adapts and reks them as the new underdog.

This is the most and best use of Star Destroyers in any tv show or movie. This is the first time they acted like actual fearsome battleships. They used their big guns to actually destroy other ships and to do orbital bombardments. It was clear that they could have punched through the shield with continued pressure. They didn't get wrecked just to make the rebels look tough.
