Daisy Ridley isn't responsible for these decisions. It's Kathleen Kennedy. Daisy Ridley is actually pretty nice and a decent person. She never attacked the fans and she cares about a good story. She didn't decide anything in the sequels and was a victim of KK just like the fans

Rey was a mary sue of a character. like her or not, she is not popular enough to hold a title film, that and I do not think alot of people are w anting anything to do with disney and lucasfilm right now. they got money issues and all.

Truth be told, I’m glad this movie is going to fail. Luke Skywalker was the one that’s supposed to rebuild the Jedi Order not Rey. Now I wouldn’t mind her helping Luke train more Jedi. That would’ve been a better finale. It’s still ridiculous that they had Luke disappear all because he used “too much of the force”. Also cool new profile picture Jay 😎👍🏼

Don't forget the activist director who does documentaries and has a very specific agenda she wants to include in every movie she makes, and has no experience doing anything else (except some Ms Marvel episodes apparently I think, well, we know how successful that was), certainly not massive budget science fiction movies. The problem is they made such a big deal about Daisy Ridley and this director, trotting them out, can you imagine the woke backlash if they cancel this garbage? They almost have to do it, but if they do, it's going to be the most colossal failure we have ever seen.

Like I've repeatedly said before, if you want to save Star Wars, the first thing that needs to happen is the Sequels have to be erased from the canon, along with more or less everything else that has been done with the franchise since the Disney buyout back in 2012. Of course your more likely to see Jesus rise back to life and start break-dancing outside the Vatican than Disney trying to fix the sinking ship that they created.

That's at least 12 or 13 movies announced but never released, as opposed to 5 movies released since 2015. Even if Grogu and Mando is released, it won't turn things around unless it makes over $1 billion, and even that won't get the unwanted movies made.

This was never going to happen, it was just a last gasp by KK before she was escorted out of the building and sent on a never ending sabattical. Daisy knows this but she can't come out and say it, her dying career would probably gasp its last breath too if she came out and said it. The writer knew this too, he was just using it to boost HIS dying movie career, now he has revived that he can dump the project which he just dead. Kamran was right all along.

There must be a force in Disney that will try to push back this film until KK leaves. As you say Jay, it may just disappear like so many other cancelled Disney projects. The recent mega-failure of the Acolyte will not create a sense of urgency. KK and the rest of these boneheads still won't admit to themselves that their vision of the so-called modern audience doesn't exist. The virtue signal is a powerful drug.

IF, and that's a big IF, they could get some decent writer(s) and a script that's not like the series, I'd LOVE to see a Boba Fett movie. The character could be so much more than the series made him. And they need to keep Fennec Shand with him. Put them in Slave I and turn them loose in the galaxy far, far away! Temuera and Ming-Na deserve better than what they got.

I feel for Daisy.. Her character is weak at the core. And got worse with further exposure. Shes being used once again. I fear she only took this due to not hitting well with projects outside of it. Mark Hamill type situation he made something of himself outside of Star Wars eventuall after 15 years.. Daisy hasnt had anything at all land in 6 years now already. Shes despite to get another shot using Star Wars i don't blame her but it was actually Disneys Star Wars and her terrible character and the agenda behind her character that destoryed Star Wars in the eyes of fans.. She seemed to have some idea that there were a sizable if not majority audience not happy at all with Star Wars under Disney, that had issues with her character. This her return and siding with Disney against the audience is just not going to go well for her. Its going to undermine the whole reason she returned to accept that job.. To have another shot at launching a serious career in major films.. Whose going to support you really if you've signalled your not able to see why fans arent happy. Its curse at this point to be in Disneys Star Wars.. Daisy careers dead, John.. Same. His star is extinguished. Oscar had the best run.. Has at least been cast in things.. Not the main character though. Dune part 1 a fine example. Thats his career. He was signed up to Metal Gear Solid the movie... But lets be real. Hes not the right choice for Snake. Snake is more Clint Eastwood than Oscar who well..... Hes hispanic.. Snake isnt hispanic. Sorry. Hamill no career really.. Harrison same as before really no change. But hes largely out the game now due to age. Carrie well... She did the same kind of thing as Oscar but on the silver screen. Bit parts in shows or the odd episode of something. The New Order cast.. Andy Serkis seems to have less work since The Last Jedi... Domhnall? Nothing.. Gwendoline? Nothing... Disney utterly failed these actors and the audience... Where is the accountability for why Star Wars no longer works or appeals to anyone?

@takuid Here's the thing.. How is she to really know at the time. Most fans it seemed had hopes for Star Wars when George signed it over. No reason to think otherwise to start with.. Now if you're long enough in the tooth and cared about Star Wars in a big way and Lucas in particular how he tells stories. We knew.. By 2013.. We all knew Lucas' vision was ejected in favour JJ and KK and Kasden doing what Disney wanted which was a changing of the IP and a dropping of the story. She's just an actor and I think she had good intentions like all actors that went for roles in the new 'Star Wars'. They all signed contracts for 3 pictures... I think they all had a hard time because they were in this propaganda agenda pushing product using Star Wars as a flesh suit. Fans rejected them.. We all gave it a shot.. We all wanted Disney to do well with this IP just as George did.. Some didn't realise the damage they had done with EP7... Which dropped the EP part in favour of just the sub-title. I think by the 3rd and final film from this trilogy many of the actors seemed to understand the fan argument a bit.. John had come around for example. I think he was influencing Daisy a little with her approach at the time. But since then.. She's just not had another break. Like most of them, but her most noticeably.. Disney is desperate also.. So they reached out and she happily accepted due to not having anything else. Disney has mandated that it's actors must now push back against fans and opinions and state the talking point about the character from the higher ups. This has now become so common for Disney hired actors to attack fans of the properties for not being their "desired" fan aka quiet, happy, slop consumer with no questions. I was very much alone in 2013-2017... So much of the Star Wars fandom hadn't realised yet.. There were no Geeks and Gamers types really calling any of it out. There were true fans that felt as I did coming out of the cinema feeling like we were just assaulted and had Star Wars walked all over in favour of corporate slop within Star Wars for 2 hours. A few videos here and there.. But the wider audience didn't realise until 2017 with Last Jedi... That's when everyone was like.... Uhhh what is this garbage. What's been done to Star Wars? Then the retrospective with TFA began.... Rogue One came out and fans said it was good when it was painfully mid.

You summarized the entire situation very well. And it is desperate. I am not condemning them for the first time they signed contracts with Disney. However, Daisy Ridley is not this precious sweetheart blameless actress some online are very eager to claim. I call them the Daisy Brigade.. She was chosen by KK very carefully, not based on her merits but how well she would be part of "the plan" moving forward. I am condemning her for the second time she signed a contract. "Because it doesn't really concern me: I can't change the way some men see women." this is a direct quote from her about why some fans hate her character. She is not this shining beacon of logic and reasonable analysis while being surrounded by KK and her friends whose goal is to make the Force female or whatever else. She is their friend and ally. If she is not, then she has no integrity, acting like she is at every turn. I personally never watched TLJ or the Rise of Palpatine. My eyes are wide open about the stories that I enjoyed since my childhood. Disney and the actors that choose to continue to work with them do not deserve the benefit of the doubt some are giving them. That is all I am saying. Not at this point in time.

Honestly I believe the Star Wars mando and grugu movie is going to be a great success because of John favuro though I don’t believe the Rey movie will be a success under the people who’s writing directing and producing it I either believe the Rey movie’s is going to be canceled or it’s going to be added to the list of failed star wars projects like the acyolate failure or something if Disney releases it I believe it will be added to the list of Star Wars failures like the acyolate and stuff I hope the acyolate the Rey film the force awakens last Jedi and rise of skywalker gets removed off of Disney plus as I believe the only Star Wars projects I want on Disney plus right now besides gorges original trilogy is the mandolin Asoka book of boba fett tales of the Jedi tales of the empire obi wan kenobi mando and grugu movie and heir to the empire movie those are the only Star Wars projects from Disney that I want to stay on Disney plus because those were a bigger success Star Wars films on Disney plus that’s what I want to remain under Disney plus but stuff like the Star Wars sequel trilogy movies the acyote and the Rey movie I just want those to get the willow treatment because those were the biggest Star Wars failures made by Disney that’s the only reason why I feel I want those to get the willow treatment do I believe Disney will do it no not really but I really hope Disney does give those the willow treatment and listen to the fans for once because it gets worse than it already is
