After Vader took that hit in the hall he got pissed. He deflected kenobi’s thrust and grabbed him, head butted him as he threw him to other side of hall. Then he followed up with left hook, striking down with his saber on the left to throw him off balance with strength as he deflected it, and followed up with the backhand and force push- beautiful choreography move for move. Almost every move and his body language resonated with aggression and anger, exactly what I would expect from him.

I love that throughout this version, the fighting actually contains attempted strikes, slashes, thrusts, that get parried, dodged, or blocked. So very effective.

Vader is ALWAYS angry. He just tightly controls himself. What you see when he “gets pissed off” is just that tight lock on his anger loosening. Unleashing the beast as it were. That enormous self control of his rage is what makes him almost as powerful as Palpatine. He actually CONTROLS the dark side. It does not control him. He bends it to his will.

I also can't help but see this playing over into Luke vs Vader in Episode five. Luke used the same strike Obi-wan did here on the catwalk and Vader became more aggressive as a response. It is like Vader remembered the pain from the earlier battle and saw Obi-wan in Luke, causing him to respond and hurt Luke despite some stories meantioning Vader not wanting to damage the 'Emperor's prize'. It can be seen as a link between the two battles and the student / teacher relationship the two combatants shared.

Something in the remake that I kind of noticed... or at least its the way I perceived it... that was pretty cool. Towards the end of the fight, when Vader landed the glancing blow on Kenobi's stomach area and Kenobi countered with the Force push, Vader hung back looking at Kenobi and actually let him get back up before advancing again. In my mind, Vader at this point knew he was going to win, but somewhere in him, decided to give his old master the dignity of dying on his feet rather than coming at him when he was down.

"Impressive, ...MOST IMPRESSIVE!" Almost seamless editing, outstanding computer graphics, and dynamically fluid action. Somebody, call Disney and have them re-shoot this fight scene, paying and using these guys "reimagining" as a paradigm. Then re-re-release the movie again, using the new fight scene, on DVD and/or stream. They'll make 10-20X the money their investment. We've been waiting for this kind of Episode IV fight scene for over forty years.

i understood the movies but during the original scene i really didn't think vader was powerful because of the bad choreography, but this shows me how powerful vader is and should be. One scene can change my whole perspective on a character's position. How amazing

If Thor Skywalker had a decent budget, he's had some really good fixes for The Last Jedi. Even other critics like MauLer and such have come up with interesting fixes here and there that not only remove plot holes, but create more tension and add more meaning/weight. I'd be down for a TLJ re-shoot by fans, but Disney would likely claim the fuck out of it lol.

If the Kenobi movie ever comes to fruition, I'd absolutely love to see Master Windu to appear in it to leave way for his movie. Who would you cast as a younger Mace? Also, to see Master Windu after he survived... I would bet that Boba Fett shows up to avenge Jango. My favorite character is Obi Wan, so I want to see that first. I guess as long as they all hold quality, I just want more of all of Star Wars! May the Force be with you.
