You know what would make a good show, Hondo series all his stories and the show is based on his first hand stories meaning its easy to write off as not true. Maybe they give Jay a part in the show to get better reviews, just pay what you would for a no name actor. @2ndprize-c4f I'm just wondering if everyone's just too jaded, which is sad. This seems more light hearted which I always considered Star Wars to be, especially if we're going back to 80's style adventuring. I also do not understand this "true fan" business. Wouldn't a true fan give everything at least a small chance, allowing themselves to judge on their own merrits? Look. Acolyte, I gave a chance. It failed. Bad Batch on the other hand? That seemed alright, as did parts of Ahsoka. People do not judge projects with all elements anymore, in fact in a Satar WArs group on Facebook I was the only one in the group talking about sound design, and I was going through all the references I could spot the trouble is I can't rememebr if I did that in Kenobi or Ahsoka, as it was quiter a while ago.
@jukesy19925 ай бұрын
@2ndprize-c4f I know what I'm about to say might sound a little bit elitist. It isn't meant to be that way, but I am going to try to say this but it's going to sound a bit blunt. I'm a totally blind person. I am noticing that sighted people's attention spans are dying. I can't upload the latest and greatest memes, so I write long posts. Even my Mum has stopped reading my long posts even though they are positive. I find this very sad that some people just can't be bothered, when in the early 2000's, long blogs were all the rage. Then, it does however get a little worse: I, genuinely, feel like a lot of the issues in this world stem from sighted people, including race. I've met black people and they are some of the kindest people and actually most intelligent and respecting people I've ever met. There are some people in this world who bork at someone with one arm on TV even for a second. Literally, one, second, out, of, fourty, five, minutes, of, content! It irks me. It makes me wonder how on earth can they call themselves a fan if they are so bitter, so... disinclusive and so not caring aobut other people's issues in the world other than, what seems to be, themselves. They seem to conveniently forget that some of the ebst actors, at least in stories I've heard, were once simple extras or cameos in projects. So what's the difference? How can the world be so... jaded?
@jukesy19925 ай бұрын
@2ndprize-c4f I have another long post for you, but I hope to fill it with as much positivity as possible. I hope you enjoy this and if you've got any questions or thoughts, ask and comment away and I'll get back to you because I'm enjoying this so much. Right, here goes. I was born blind and I live in the UK. My computer talks to me I'm on windows 11 with a free screen reader called NVDA. When I was five I learned to touch type. Started out with a screen reader called Hal which cost £100 a year just for upgrades. Then when NVDA came along I didn't look back. I've also enjoyed, for the longest time since I can remember, gaming, and these days the game console have UI screen readers so it reads the dashboards, stores, trophies/achievements, and I can do party invites, all by myself. Some games have screen reader stuff built in but not all, but it's a work in progress. I've also got an iPhone and android device whichhave built in screen readers (different to siri or google assistant, these are their own features entirely called VoiceOver and Talkback which change the phone's gestures and everything). I enjoy TV shows too, even stuff that's not described, as there's so much audio to experience. I love ride povs on KZbin and theme park blogs. There's also a lot more audio description, although DisneyPlus has anoyed me recently because the second season of Monsters at Work had no audio description tracks included. The Acolyte was completely audio described, and whilst I wasn't the biggest fan of that show, I liked the fact I could follow along with everyone else. My favourite audio description of all time is Mandalorian season 2 chapter 16 The Rescue. The way they audio described that entire episode was an absolute blast. So much so, that there are two different versions of it. The first version, the reveal did not have a name drop, only "The Jedi". Someone had to actually tell me who it was and my mind was blown. However, when I rewatched it with my Dad a couple of months later, they actually name dropped the character, and my mind was, unbelievably, even more blown than the first time because it actually happened. Now that's what I call attention to detail, and allowing the secret to stay secret until the time or even just after. The way the actual scene was described as well, is just incredible. The description writers must have had so, so much fun bringing this to life and the voice artist, well I can't even think how she felt whilst describing this. Then there's Bluey which I'd heard about The Sign and it made me binge watch the entire series, so much so I got to the end of season 3 just as those episodes were released, and, it was worth the wait: the end of season 3. Ghost Basket into The Sign was a very unique audio description moment. It's a guy, and something happens during Ghostbasket which is a fairly big reveal/lead-in to The Sign itself, and at the end he always says audio description by descriptive video works voiced by Christian Simpson, but he actually did using a voice/tone which fitted this reveal. Then for The Sign, I was apprehensive: how are they going to do a 30 minute special? I was so excited too, it had been a build up and I'd watched them over a couple of months and now, it was time, and then it started, and, I was so, so hyped. I watched, and I was very happy they braught back the same guy, I was whooping at my headset at the beginning. As it went on I just knew we were in good hands and then.... before I knew it we'd reached the end, 30 minutes flying by and I was left completely, and utterly, speechless, stunned beyond belief at what I'd just experienced. I cried my eyes out and had to use eight tissues. It took me a whole minute for me to find a word, and that word, was, wow. I said wow, around five times in a row, went to my parents and said, "worth, every, single, moment". My mind had answered the question, how did they pull off a 30 minute special? That answer was, "spectacularly well", I already knew that. But I still had to be absolutely sure that the thing I was realizing, was actually happening as my brain was debating something else as well. I am not kidding when I say that during that week, I watched The Sign 8 times with a mixture of audio description on and off for different watches. My brain was processing this so much so that it took me around three total days to come to a decision and for my brain to realize just how I actually felt, and that decision was, and still is now, Bluey, season 3 episode 49, The Sign, is one of the best pieces of media, in *any format*, that I have ever experienced in my life, up there on top of my media mountain as it were, with the following: The Rescue from Mandalorian, Spider-man No Way Home, the second season of Transformers Prime and A Darkk Room on iOS. I realized, it completes my top 5 peek media. I still talk about both The Rescue and The Sign even now. So that's peek tier. Below that is the tier where things demonstrate their artform very well and they know what they want to be, and that tier is also filled with things for me, too many to list here, from The Last of Us part 2's accessibility which has now been integrated into part 1 on PS5 as well meaning a blind person can play through the entire story, to a text-based game called TinStar on iOS, to a bunch of other stuff that if I listed we'd be here forever. I can say my favourite films of all time though, Lion King animated, and Toy Story 1, without hesitation. I have so many other franchises I love too. Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Star Wars, Back to The Future, would you believe I've still never had the chance to see Ghostbusters? I gotta correct that one day. You'll also notice I use the word "seen" even though I can't see, and that's because I consider the watching of something to be the activity, i.e: the watching, of, the movie or show. We watch shows, we listen to music, we play games. It just makes logical sense, as a collective. My favourite theme park ride is Pirates of The Caribbean. It has taken me a while but I think I will soon be ready to try an upside down coaster. However before I go into my theme park adventures it might be better for you to reply first because it's going to be another long one to explain my perspective on all that, if you'd like to hear it. But you may have questions and comments of your own first, which I'd rather read and go through and answer.

Don't tell me this about the beginnings of Max Rebo?....WOW!!!!!!!!!!! So he was living in Los Angeles (Orto) before moving to Tatooine? Amazing! :)

Story takes place during the early New Republic era of Star Wars, so maybe the little blue creature of indeterminate gender is Max Rebo's offspring.

It looks harmless. Unlike the crap that they've been doing for years.

STAR BURBS! If they can keep from bogging it down and mucking it up with [ . . .loading Critical Drinker voice . . . ] THE MESSAGE, maybe we can get a fun adventure for the kids.

I don't know, this doesn't look anything like SW. It's so odd... even with the other crap Disney SW shows there is usually at least something that at least looks like SW on a surface level, but this is totally off. Very weird.

No way! This is exactly what we wanted! A bunch of little kids running around for 8 episodes!

That werewolf must be a former storm trooper

That werewolf-looking character will probably be the best part of the entire show. At least fans will get one cool action figure out of all of this.

This feel more Star Trek than Star Wars but that’s mainly the environment itself. It look decent but am just meh it is a show that is made to approach kids

It does remind me of Goonies. But it also makes me think of Stranger Things. Maybe they're trying to make their own Stranger Things, with the Jedi standing in for Hopper or L. I doubt he's a stand-in for Sloth. That'd be funny, though: Jedi Master Sloth.

This is supposed to be "A long time ago... In a galaxy far, far, away..." Not, "Last Thursday... In a house down the street..." Seeing suburbia took me right out of it. There's no sense of immersion.
