On June 18th in 1977 I was 12 years old. I had cut grass the previous weekend and had saved about $12. I rode my Huffy all the way from Rossville, Georgia to Fort Oglethorpe, a distance of about 10 miles, to the brand new Southgate Cineplex. Lines were already long. A lot of the people were there to see Smokey and The Bandit. But most of us were there for Star Wars. The line wrapped around the building completely. Some had camped out. I had to wait through 2 showings to get in. The ticket cost $2.25. Coke and popcorn was another 3. When the Imperial cruiser first came into the frame, I had the giddy sensation that the damn thing had somehow passed over the roof of the building, and was now coming into view in my large "window". I was stunned and forced back into my seat. I was a subscriber to Starlog magazine and had been reading about this film for months as the 20th Century Fox hype machine was in hyperdrive. It lived up to the hype. I was not disappointed. As a lifelong fan, I have since met dozens of people who were in the theater with me that day. It is safe to say that it changed all of us. Many of you younger Star Wars fans will never realize the impact that it had. It forged the potential of a lot of young people, including myself, into creative careers and hobbies. But more than anything, I remember that day feeling that I was getting a glimpse at the tip of a massive iceberg, the majority of which was submerged, and hoping that I could see more. Watching this complete timeline, I marvel at how all that potential has been realized. Sure, some of it has been disappointing, but so is life. In the end, I'm thankful that it has been a part of mine.

I was in the 8th grade in 1977, Star Wars was a HUGE part of my childhood, and still is today!! I've still got ALL of the first edition books, well over 350 and counting. It's a way of life for alot of us middle-agers. My 1 regret is I probably won't live to see the finale. Thank you Alex & Mollie, for everything you've done!! May the Force be with you all!!

Come on!! You saw the Finale with "The Last Jedi".....that was the death blow to Star Wars. Its been barely on life support since. Mandalorian breathed a tiny spark of hope but that spark has been all but extinguished now since Boba Fett is trash now too. @@NG480 How would that be possible? The Old Republic took place prior to the High Republic in Canon, and in the High Republic there is only JUST a new colonization effort of the Outer Rim. That means much of when the Old Republic took place simply hasn't been found in this Canon timeline. Some of the characters may exist, like Revan, but they will NOT be like they were.

Rise of Skywalker and Last Jedi were seriously jarring, even in the context of the Sequel Trilogy built up by Force Awakens. So it really won't help the films much at all, if only due to how sharply it changes things from movie-to-movie. But yeah, background info helps the overall lore.

There’s one mistake. The Martez sisters arc was placed in 21 bby, however I remember at the end of that arc ahsoka met up with Bo katan and they went to free mandalore right after. This means the martez sisters arc should’ve taken place in 19 bby alongside the siege of mandalore

Go with Legends if you want a well written plot with fully fleshed out characters and a plot that makes actual sense. While I appreciate and even enjoy the effort that is made with 7-9 and the creative decisions they took with it, it’s better to see the sequels as a stand-alone story.

Look at Lukes alcoholic descendant and see him destroying Sith, that was able to live more than 150 years with his crew of red-skinned bad guys!

I would love in couple of years maybe a Rey focused Disney+ show with the "spirit" of Ben always with her since they are a Dyad and a bunch of force ghosts helping her to bring back the Jedi, maybe even an old Ahsoka that help Rey to make the new Jedi to be what they really are supposed to be Also Finn becoming a Jedi !
