From the moment that we announced the eight classes in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ fans have been pitting them against each other, arguing who would have the advantage in a one-on-one fight. The hallways of BioWare echo this debate, with the writers, combat designers and other developers all chiming in on which class they feel reigns supreme.
In our new video series "Choose Your Side," members of the Star Wars: The Old Republic team plead their cases, highlighting only a few of the many skills and abilities that set their class apart from the rest. In the first video of the four-part series, two of the most iconic classes in the Star Wars™ universe stand toe-to-toe as the famed Jedi Knight squares off against the feared Bounty Hunter.

Hmm...The Jedi has powerful abilities in range and the Bounty Hunter has powerful abilities out of range. Tough call. If the Jedi can get in close and stay there, he's going to win. If the Bounty Hunter can make the Jedi stay out of range, then the Bounty Hunter is going to win.

Yeah, the characters in the beta certainly did look very different. But I can't help but wish that they'd stuck with some of the old looks. Characters with (male) Face #3 looked a lot better in the beta, for example.

What is choosing? The choice that is bestwoed is the making of your dealings en route returning. The calling of one duty is entail, the workings of forces that consists of many in reason. Purpose. Honestly, they're both awesome. But it depends on a particular players fighting-style. In the Star Wars mythos, of course, many Bounty Hunters have been made infamous for being "Jedi-Killers". However, a Jedi Knight is just as powerful as a tech'd-up Hunter. It's mostly just a matter of opinion, though. Some Jedi are powerful enough to overcome a Bounty Hunter, and some Hunters are resourceful enough to take down a Jedi Knight.

Am I the only one wondering why they put the Bounty Hunter in the weird helmet? I mean the Knights gear doesn't look great either but geez. Also in the fight they showed above the Bounty Hunter would win. A Jedi Sentinel vs a Mercenary who has heals mapped correctly will win every time. I would like to see a Guardian vs a Power Tech though, that has potential.

I haven't played for a while... but I'm not sure about that. Don't the sentinels have a tree that is dedicated to making life for healers a living hell? Thought it was the watchman's spec, (also the one I went as... though I can safely say I was terrible at pvp but good at pve.

Anytime I go 1v1 with a a merc on my Mara in PvP I win. Only time I've ever lost was when an op or sin would hop in and start Backstabbing me. merc heals work well for groups but they won't be able to cast when they have two savers striking them for 2k an ability (massacre). And if they stun me or use a quick cast ability it only really prolongs the inevitable. Also the healer SPEC mercs get melted because they don't have the DPS to deal with me

Born on the world of Lothal my OC is human male born with a high midichlorian count of 17,000 but is too old to join the Jedi and would rather not risk being betrayed as a Sith, so he decides to wander the Galaxy until he meets Braden who teaches him the basics of shooting a Blaster and CQC, they don't really get to know each other well but do keep in touch just in case, after learning all he can from Braden my OC heads to the black market and is able to get his hands on a pair of Mandalorian Guantles in order to combat a Force User in case he were to ever encounter one, after a couple of years my OC is able to make somewhat of a name for himself as a Bounty Hunter and is called on by Braden for the grate hunt where his true story would begin. (This is my Bounty Hunters backstory.)

For those that have played, the whole bounty hunter story is that blunt. You want to be nice, be nice, you want to laugh and mock everyone who threatens you, you can do that too, it really is very independant and allows you to play pretty much how youd like :)

A jedi can only block so much. I can imagine launching a wrist rocket at him and as soon as he reaches out to stop it in place, follow up with a large series of blaster shots to get him to move, immediately following that with a flamethrower to corner him.
