Ignoring the prequels is a slap in the face to Star Wars a whole (which they did). Did I enjoy the force awakens trilogy? Yes. Did it have problems? Absolutely. You can’t just ignore The Last Jedi because it received backlash. It happened, and they’ve gotta accept it. The biggest issue I had was the lack of connection ROS had to the prequels. It would’ve really been great if Ben had a scene Anakin or Vader himself. For the film that concludes the entire Skywalker saga including two previous trilogies Disney/Lucasfilm really missed a lot of great opportunities.

On the end of the series, I did not feel satisfied like I did at the end of A new Hope when I didn't know there would be another movie, just like at the end of Return of the Jedi. I did not think The Rise of Skywalker was a bad movie, in fact I loved it, I just wasn't satisfied at the end.

Loved that the sequels gave us more star wars but darn it it could've been better with a planned trilogy. It's like the episode 7 re-introduced us to a galaxy full of mysteries, The Last Jedi made us question what balance was and what the future could become. And then episode 9 was like, oh yeah and all this has to do with the last movies by the way even if we didn't mention or took it into account and now we will try to tie in the end of the saga, the trilogy, and all of The Las Jedi's things that made people mad. Still appreciate each movie for what it TRIED to accomplish.
