4 months is perfect learn the cards, buy singles, enjoy tweaking, happy bank account. Magic is unapproachable because you need to learn an entire set in less than a week then by the time you learn one color the next four sets are out.

Fair opinions here, but I don't aggree about : 1/ 4 month is not too long. 4 month leave us time to compete, test a lot, get used and adapt to the moving meta. Running a set every 2 or 3 month would be too oppressive to me... 2/ "Just Drop it" = easy to say. Printing a whole set takes ages to prepare, they don't print on their own so FFG has to plan it with partners and a whole prodution chain. Way more difficult than you would think...

The things you listed as 'bad' are not bad at all, imo. I hope they keep to the 4 month release schedule. It allows time to collect, test, play a competitive cycle, do extensive limited events, and then build excitement & anticipation for the next set. Anything less and you barely have time to play the current set before another drops. And ALT product might be coming. The game literally debuted 4 months ago. Give it time. Also, I hope they do not overflood the market and instead keep this game at the LGS level. Helps build the community and encourages stores to run premiere and limited events. Finally, I think you vastly underestimate how difficult it is to get an immediate reprint/more product in a game that just debuted. If they continue to have supply issues at set 3 & beyond, then its a legitimate gripe.

This is absolutely reasonable so I'll stay here 4 months in between sets is fine just as long as maybe in the future yes we can get some alt products that's becuase to I do look through the lens of a content creator as well so that might be a me problem for sure. As far As the overflood that I get you want to help build up a community, that's a great point. Something I did not think about at all might be why FFG is gonna trickle in reprints. The last thing is I clearly have no idea how hard it is to get reprints going I'm sure it takes time but if that is the case FFG need to be more direct in their messaging don't be so vague if it's gonna take awhile just come out and say to Precise in your language thats all by set three I do have confident they will get this cleaned up this video is not praying for anyone downfall quite the oppsite really I'm a huge fan of thus game currently of my favorite me and my friends and family love playing during our game nights so I hope this game has a ton of long success

I disagree so strongly with most of what you’re saying. I think four months is perfect between sets. I don’t have an extra $800 a year to spend on whole extra set let alone two extra sets that you’re talking about. Also, I think half of the artwork in the game is biggest flaw. Also, I work in the game industry when it comes to mass overseas printing for the moment you say it’s a minimum of six months before that’s in your warehouse.

The product allocation plan has allowed shops to continue to have product available for limited play or prize support consistently in my area. This has allowed people to build their collections locally without resorting entirely to tcgplayer. Dropping your entire stock at once is a good way to exasperate supply issues rather than managing expectations.

@@tcg_madness I can assure you that they will be trying to secure larger print runs from here on out and hopefully the larger partnership with disney as well as the promise of repeat business will enable them to do so. But production at scale is all about scheduling, contracts and storage. Imagine if this product was a flop and they had gone wayyyy in on a huge overprinted release. Thats the kind of thing that can put a company under. A bunch of their minis games got shifted over to AMG and now X wing is officially donezo. Asmodee, FFGs parent company got saddled with like 900 million dollars of debt after the restructuring of embracer group which can't be helping things either. Basically they had to be careful with their new unproven game but now that it's a hit, I'm sure they'll go ham. Easier said than done. Since the printer they're using may have other obligations and new printers may not have the capabilities to produce cards of the same quality. Then there's shipping and storage. But it'll be fine I'm sure.

1. 4 months is GOOD time frame to release. Releasing a set every 3 months is far too fast and player purchase burnout is real. Magic for the LONGEST time only had 3 expansions a year. And it was all we needed. Now we are getting stuff so fast that every time we turn around, there's another set and you can't keep up. 2. I agree some other kinds of sealed would be good. Ravensburger is killing that. 3. "Cheap product" means there is no value. No value means no investment. No investment means not enough product will sell.

I’ll say most people I’ve talked to say the 4 month gap is great we don’t always have money to be buying a set every 2 or 3 months so having 4 months to play around with a current set and enjoy it before needing to jump into the next one is great. The showcase pull rates are also a lot worst than you thought they are on average 1 in every 288 packs or 2 cases and even then you aren’t guaranteed one

Seems to be the consensus fr most which is fine I will say tho be very curious if/when FFG eventually goes to mote sets a year I mean they are a business after all I imagine they wanna try and compete with the likes of pokemon yugioh WOTC etc so be curious how the community handles that. The only reason I'm able to keep up with the game is because of just 3 sets a year. The second it turns into 4 (or god forbid 6) I'm out. And I don't know if with more sets that will continue to be the case, but set 1 meta was so good that even when set 2 was about to drop, the meta was still continuously evolving and seeing lots of movement, it was perfectly fine. It also didn't hurt that Spark of Rebellion made for the best first set meta of any tcg I've ever seen, extremely healthy, and extremely fun.

Three sets a years is ok for me with the high number of cards in the sets, people who want all the rarety, it's more than 1000 cards includings the Showcases. And more sets a year create print issues. I prefer they taking more time to create better art in general into the game than generic art we don't like. The most important is they need to print on demand the actual sets! The goods thing can be also bad too. It's our opinion after all, but more we can say good thing about the game more the game can be fun and growing with time! I'm out :P

Im with you in some point, FFG need to print more style of product to give acces the cards to other people than the booster box who sadly scalper take oportunity with low stock. I suspect FFG and Lorcana print at the same printing company, the foils are very similar and the "discard cards" are almost the same. So maybe Lorcana take the most print % and after that FFG will be ok for a while. We will see, and now we just need to have fun with the available product. Play and collect!

Ok I understand where you are coming from but respectfully: you don't know what you are talking about If things were that easy and that you could just print anything you wanted on demand do you really think that ANY card game would have production issues? Do you think they are dumb? Factory schedules are extremely busy between different card games, factories have full schedules for months in advance. FFG did want to ramp up production as soon as they saw the game's success and do you know what date the factories gave them? November 2025. By the time they saw the success of set 1, set 2 was already printed, that's why we are having the same supply issues in set 2. You can argue they should have anticipated the demand better, but once again easier said than done. The risk for the company if you undersell is MASSIVE, not only you are losing money on unsold products you are also losing money on storing all the unsold products. A company would always prefer to underprint and adjust for later than overproduce and go bankrupt. Predicting the demand for a brand-new game is very difficult, and that's why so many TCG companies get it wrong as well. They printed more products for set 1 than they did for the entire first year of Star Wars Destiny! Now that they have a better idea of the demand for the game, supply issues should be solved by set 3 onward. And I would argue they did a good job at handling the crisis, not giving all boxes at once but sending waves was the right move so it would make it so LGS would have boxes for draft instead of selling everything at once. They also had the great idea to keep most of the stocks for LGS, to avoid scalpers and give incentives for people to engage with the local community.

The first set was a enormous gamble for the studio and it paid off better than anyone could have predicted. They made decisions to minimize risk when launching a product so similar to Destiny that fizzled and died not that long ago.
