I wonder what would happen if EVE Online (32 years in the past) made contact with Star Wars during the first movie? (Disney Cannon) No way Palpatine and Plaguise's plans are going to work this time around What advantages would there be for the Five EVE Empires and minor factions to use and integrate SW tech into their own? Would Naboo plead with the EVE Factions for assistance in exchange for something? Would the Clone and Droid Armies still exist? How would the Jedi react to all of this? Especially the slavery of the Amarr and the very liberal (understatement) lives of the Gallente? The cybernetic transformation of the Jovian people? Capsulers? EVE Cloning and Droid development? How popular would the life-extending and 'immortality' EVE technology be in Star Wars? Would the Galente, Minnitauri, and/or Caldari attempt to join the Old Republic? Subvert it to join one of them? Would the Amarr Empire be an ally of the Separatist or become its new leader? Would neutral nations in Star Wars join one of the Five Empires? If so, which neutral faction joins which EVE Empire? Would the Jovians attempt to use SW tech to cure them of their depression-inducing sickness? Would there be a massive population explosion due to massive interbreeding? Intensive colonization of both Universes? Would the criminal organizations of Star Wars be subjugated by the EVE Outlaw Factions? How would the storyline of both franchises change? Force User Capsulers would be very dangerous combatants Imagine how deadly Thrawn would be as a Capsuler! Wouldn't surprised me if the Amarr, Caldari and Jovians attempt to turn their people into Force Users! (Possible in both Disney Cannon and Legends EU) Can Capsulers have children?

@Resurrected Starship it doesn't seem well-balanced. Your narrative is too controlled. You have Capital ships from Star Wars; the largest, and some of the largest ships from Star Wars against battleships from Eve Online. Not a fair match don't you think? Eve Online has much more than, and stronger ships then battleships. If you're going to limit this to Eve Online battleships then limit Star Wars ships as well.

Its more that EvE players are loot goblins, and will absolutely murder any ship thats not aligned with their own alliance for shits, giggles, and bragging about having killed something potentially rare and valuable. And you BET the prospect of killing a ship no one has ever seen would make most eve players salivate with envy. capsuleers do this among eachotehr on a daily basis, so you bet an outsider would see no mercy given. Overall, you gotta remember that the player behaviour in the game IS canon to EvE online, and these people need no other justification for war than "because its fun"

You missed out the part where the star destroyer corp gets wardecced by 15 grief corps instantly while 100 code catalyst destroyers gank and destroy it as it exited its travel and inform them that they didn't purchase a mining permit and should have for 50 million isk. Just to make sure it goes down, they call in a cyno beacon and 20 titans land on top of the star destroyer just to make sure.

Assuming this is post-Endor Legends: -Yes, the EVE factions gang up on the Imperial Remnants on EVE space, destroy or capture them and then reverse-engineer their tech -Then they invade Star Wars -The Rebels/New Republic allies with the Gallente -The Imperial Remnants are wiped out within a few weeks, survivors join the New Republic or the EVE factions -Yuuzhan Vong are found out and immediately exterminated with the few survivors joining the EVE factions -The Gallente-New Republic Alliance attacks the Caldari and is winning -Expect Han Solo and other people to instigate Slave Rebellions in the Amarr Empire -The Mandalorians and Chiss become client states of the Minntauri Republic and attack the weakened Amarr -Out of desparation, the Amarr and Caldari form an alliance -The Gallente, Minntauri and their allies also work together -Eventually the Gallente-Minntauri Confederation crushes the Amarr and Caldari and takes most of their territories -Unfortunately, relations between the Gallente and Minntauri sore and their break up their alliance -Meanwhile, the Jovians manage to cure themselves and start peacefully assimilating many minor factions in Star Wars

In my experience, as both a Machariel pilot in the past as well as many times a victim, once a Mach decides to ruin your day, they're going to succeed. It's just going to happen, may as well bend over and get it over with.

I was wondering when someone would do something like this! Very enjoyable video and you've earned yourself a sub mate :) If Star Wars ships and weapons can be quantified then it should be pretty easy to do a direct comparison as CCP give us a lot of information. That said, these two ships are designed for very different purposes and this is reflected in their armament. The mach is for shooting other big ships and the SD seems to be more for space superiority with its fighters and smaller but more numerous guns. Not a huge SW buff but I recall that in the films the turbolasers are capable of hitting fighters as they whizz by less than a kilometer away, good luck doing that with any of the turrets available in EVE. I'd love to see your take on the old republic or empire being invaded by a large alliance. Hell, maybe the story could be that gigX gets so angry that he collapses into a wormhole, sucking the entire region of Impass into the outer rim, along with many confused pilots.

Battleship sized guns in EVE are magnitudes larger than the ones found on most Star Wars vessels, on average. Even so, one of the Imperial-class Star Destroyer's turbolaser batteries would probably have the same dps as a medium blaster turret in EVE. Considering it canonically has sixty (60) heavy turbolaser batteries, a Star Destroyer could probably mulch most battleships in EVE if it actually had a tackler to hold down the target lmao.

@@christiandauz3742 In the EVE lore, Titan-class ships passing close to planets cause extinction level events just by passing close to them. Asteroid fields are easy to navigate and cause no damage, but are annoying. If we're getting nitpicky, EVE ships could go on the underside of the Star Destroyer, since there are no guns on that side (at least not shown). Though, thats less of a failing of Star Wars and more of one on whoever designed the Star Destroyer to be vulnerable on one side

Correction, wrt lore, Eve Online ships can FTL between systems under their own power. However, it is considered not as efficient compared to jumpgates. Additionally, from a tactical and strategic standpoint there is an advantage to using jumpgates. Specifically, all your ships arrive simultaneously rather than strung out due to differences in mass, FTL speed, etc.

How this would really go down... Star Destroyer exits hyperspace uncloaked (since in EVE whenever you use a jump-gate there is a mechanic in the game where residual energy cloaks your ship for 1 minute or until you start moving under your own power, whichever comes first. A hyperspace jump would not provide this benefit.) and gets suicide ganked immediately. XD

This was a fun video, thanks for making it. The only correction I would make is that J-space is not just unmapped star systems without jump gates in New Eden, they are actually in a separate but nearby galaxy called Anoikis. Anyways, I enjoyed the video.

More likely the Imperials would have made a poor choice and landed themselves in Jove space, no stargates connecting to the larger part of the cluster but still internal stargate connections between a dozen or so systems... if they bumped into Jovian who was in the final stages of the dreaded Jovian Disease... they probably wouldn't last more than a few minutes... Jovian ships & weaponry make the rest of New Eden look like we're playing with children's toys...

Very interesting take here Max, I honestly don't know for sure that the star destroyer could really even hurt the Mach, But hey, I run a corp called Freedom 101, we don't like pirates to much though :) but we do run with the Mordus Angels :) Fly safe, and remember, if it moves shoot it. If it doesn't move shoot it anyway, it might move later. If it starts to move, jam it and call for backup :)

Only complaints I can think of here is attributing speed enough to match a TIE fighter to the drones of EVE online, as said drones rarely break 2KM/S while the TIEs commonly engage at over 10X that, and the fact that the star destroyer is credited with traveling over 3KM/s without warp even in a planet's atmosphere, while the warp drive aboard EVE's vessels causes them to suffer a force akin to 'drag' in space, meaning that even with the Micro Warp drive the battleship wouldn't even come close to the speed of the star destroyer, but over all, still a great video and I really enjoyed it. The weapon analysis was well done, and I really enjoyed the scenario as you described it.

Tbh the star Destoryer would Vaporize the Machariel in seconds, the fire power on it would out class any ship or fleet of ships in the game. The common belief is that a ISDs carry 60 turbolasers (some say upto 200) each can average around 8 million terawatts of firepower, that is comperable to detonation of a 1900 Megaton nuclear bomb every second.

Objection! There is a lot of shield types and defense, I do not know fully on both types of universes capabilities, but to be honest, going underneath the ship should be a better strategy, and if point blank, there is a huge weakeness if they are broadsiding, and that is targeting the external command structrue, since obviously that is the weakest thing on the ship, even not penning it, it will give enough shock effect to knock out all of the officers within the bridge

I really enjoyed this video. As an EVE Online player since 2008, I'm pretty familiar with the Machariel. After watching this, I have to disagree with your verdict. As much as I love EVE and its ships, I actually have to hand this victory to the Avenger. I go into some further nitty-gritty details, but they are - in my opinion - enough to flip the scrip of this pretty heavily the other direction. The 72 Tie Fighters is pretty severely underestimated. Given each ship is capable of three classes of drone/fighter support, I'll base each tie fighter on a drone type for comparison using your Tie Bomber to Heavy Drone as a benchmark: - Tie Interceptor = Acolyte I - Light Scout Drone - Tie LN = Infiltrator I - Medium Scout Drone - Tie Bomber = Praetor I - Heavy Combat Drone I based the comparison off of the Amarr drones since their damage types would most likely be the same EM/Thermal variation. It's also important to consider the potential damage output. A perfectly-skilled pilot using the above mentioned drones, without any ship mods, can hit the following DPS amounts: - 24 Acolyte I's - 312 dps - 24 Infiltrator I's - 504 dps - 24 Praetor I's - 1,008 dps Combined, that is 1,824 total damage per second with just Tie Fighter support alone. Relative to EVE's combat numbers... that is a lot of damage. That is A LOT of damage. For comparison, that particular Machariel fit, with perfect skills, in the absolute best possible range/transversal scenario is capable of a maximum of 960 dps with its guns alone using the higher damage ammo mentioned in the video (Republic Fleet Phased Plasma, because PVP never uses T1 ammo). It can go up to 1,104 dps if the guns are 'overheated' pushing them beyond their normal specs at the cost of damaging them, but only for a VERY short period of time before the guns burn out and stop working. This damage drops off to 765dps when switched to Barrage - again, in an absolute best case scenario. The DPS you see in the video would be taking into consideration the Mach's Hammerhead drone damage on top of its guns. So effectively, the Tie fighter support alone is ~1.5x the Machariel's best dps. This is before the Avenger even fires its first salvo. Also, the Machariel only has 125m3 drone capacity, meaning it can - at best - house 15 light drones, and 5 medium drones, or 10 medium drones and 5 light drones. Either of which would be fully-dispatched by 72 fighters. Even if we consider 36 of them - the Tie Bombers - are focusing on the Machariel, 36 Tie Fighters would absolutely swarm and kill the Machariel's drones, especially considering Hobgoblin and Hammerhead drones are the slowest drones of their size class. However, all of this stops mattering if the fight lasts long enough for the Machariel to activate the MWD. The Tie fighter's maximum speeds are ~350m/s, which is faster than the Machariel, until it uses the MWD which accelerates it up to 1,828 m/s. At that point the Tie Fighters would only matter after the Avenger managed to Tractor Beam it back into close combat range. In the end, the way I would see the fight going - realistically - is that the Machariel would immediately warp off if it saw SEVENTY TWO 'drones' launch from a Battleship sized vessel. However, if it stayed, it's safe to assume given the suggested output of damage - the Mach would lose all of its shields in the first minute or two of fighting, kite to range where the Avenger uses the Tractor Beam to pull it back in. However it would still have at least some of its fighter support remaining, and instead of it warping off, it would have enough damage support on field to force the Machariel pilot to warp off. However - after that I absolutely envision - because it's lowsec - that the Avenger would shortly be introduced to what we in EVE refer to as a 'Hot Drop' where a ship would decloak a few kilometers off of the Avenger's bow, light a beacon and a dozen Capital Class Carriers and Dreadoughts would appear from their own Jump Drives. Assuming the Avenger takes longer than 5-10 seconds to spool up and enter a warp... it would likely be volleyed off the field in the first one to two salvo's of Dreadnought fire. After which the surviving crew would be met with various 'GF' symbols in their communicators.

Nope! The Avenger can't use it's hyperdrive in the EVE universe because there aren't any known hyperdrive lanes. Moreover, Star Wars star destroyers lack shielding, except in certain Star Wars Legends comics.

You completely forgot about the ships size, mass, etc,.. relative to light speed after the black hole. Unless there is a field separating the ship from space time; the ship is not going to survive light speed.

Cool video. but there are few mistakes you have made. The way physics in eve work, is that it's all connected to gravity wells(reason why ships can't go faster than selected speed, even tho they are in space). EVE Ships use gravity for everything, capacitors, movement, jumps ect. So every utility that they have (neuts, webs, scrams) are to work against ships built specifically in New Eden(as every ship uses same type of technology). However, Star Destroyer was not built in New Eden, It doesn't have PEGs(which is thing that connects eve ships to gravity power to use everything), so things such as webifiers and grapplers or neutralizers won't work on it P.S Waiting for part 2!

EVE might be more futuristic and more open world, but the star wars galaxy is more fun, full of adventure, and has more iconic ships that people can recognize. Combining Star Wars and EVE would be an epic combo. An open-world galaxy with iconic ships would be epic. (Not getting rid of the ships that are already in EVE)

Any Eve faction would outproduce the SW galaxy. a ISD takes more than a decade to be constructed, while a Titan 10 times larger takes just 2 months. Gathering info would be easier considering every time a capsuleer dies he gets all his memories and can be ready to pilot the next ship.

An interesting comparison - taking it a little more seriously a Star Destroyer is closer to a capital ship than the Machariel and likely having considerably higher defences especially as you noted its a relative slow ship at combat speeds. Its heavier weapons closer in approximation to low angle turrets on Eve's dreads and fighter capabilities more like that of carriers the only edge the Machariel has really is its speed and manoeuvrability but the Star War's universe tractor beams would reduce its transversal if it got in range of them (~120km though the effect would be significant diminished at that range) meaning it would have to tank the full damage of those ion cannons. While the size and speed combined with relatively decent damage of Eve's heavy combat drones would cause significant issues for the Star Destroyer's fighter compliment I can't see it winning out the war of attrition on that front as the fighters would quickly realise the strength of the point defences of their ship in combatting drones and only engage from the cover of them - also forcing the Machariel to come in closer or run away. Ultimately the fight is likely to come down to whether the Machariel's ranged DPS, where its speed and agility would most strain the Star Destroyer's ability to track it can exceed the probably not insignificant active tanking capability (a bit of an unknown) of the Star Destroyer the end result not being hugely different in that eventually one or both would be forced to jump away as damage whittled down their defences while the ranges would make it hard for either to pin the other down via warp disruption, etc. and prevent them leaving.

the eve ship is screwed if not supported by a massive fleet , as the mach, can only deploy 5 drones, as the starwars ship can deploy over 50, the drones strength alone would be the equalivant to assault of catalysts in swarm attacking freighters..., granted the guns tracking issues is nearly none -existant since the sig radius of the starwars ship is so massive, while the mach is tiny on comparison, one must also consider the sheer number and selection of weapons a starwars ship of that size has. range and tracking would not be an issue, as it can simply select what weapon to use, while also taking into consideration, the mach can only sport 7 guns, while the starwars ship can easily support over 5 times that. plus, the starwars ship has "expendable" assests, while the mach does not. simply put, there is no eve ship that fights mid to close range that can stand up to starwars ship of that type, but a titan could easily take it, as the doomsday weapons can literally break the ship inhalf with a single hit. but a mach...pff...its not a match in anyway, the interceptors sheer collective firepower and speed easily take the mach, kinda like a large number of eve fregits would if they that high a number
