Yeah, I've seen fleets from both show up to vigils for players who died IRL. EVE is a community over all else. We will absolutely murder each other, but we also band together when we need to. I think PanFam and Goons would have absolutely destroyed the Imperials and then duked it out. Or they might actually have come up with some kind of salvage agreement, carted everything off and left. EVE is definitely shocking like that. You never really know what's going to happen.

"Capsuleer fleet is undisciplined" yeah, tell this to the aplha fleets.. And yes... dat fleet composition. Let it be from the perspective of an average nullsec claim alliance. If titans dropped it means that supercaps will be in the field with the cap fleet, support fleet surely will be there as well. Let it be about 30 titans, 50-60 mothersips, about 50 faxes and +-50 dreads and carriers combined. Support subcap fleet will be about 100-150 main damage battleships, let it be machariels, about 50 logis and 20-30 support ships like anti-frigs/destros+interceptors+dictors etc. Lets not mention any combined coalition forces... Star wars dudes have no chances.

CVA is not the oldest Alliance in New Eden! This title falls to Ushra'Khan, Minmatar Republic loyalist. The Alliance is born 5 days before CVA, which seems a blink as they both go to their 13th birthday. Still, UK is the oldest alliance in the whole cluster.

There are some inaccurate points in the battle itself. First of all, the fighters within alliances are in no way disorganised. The commanders give them movement and target priority. The imperial super destroyers would also have no way of destroying an avatar class titan. Should one be deployed in a battle, it would never be alone. Repair cruisers and their own nano hull and shield regeneration devices can easily repair an avatar.

You fail at 11:30. The super laser of that Eclipse can only be equivalent to a Titan doomsday weapon, not stronger than it. A ship the same size as a Titan with equivalent or less technology cannot magically have a weapon stronger than the Titan. And one Doomsday shot cannot drop the shields of one of those stations.

The huge advantage that the Admiral has, is something real. Strategic Brilliance, military training and discipline. He's the sort of person New Eden would tap to make the manuals they teach. A fluid fleet of skilled, rapidly adaptable military minds could easily squeeze an escape in that situation due to tactics and the ability to act faster than the players react. The thing is, those Star Destroyers, a single type of new ship that could bypass station defenses like that would be Meta Magnets attracting allies wanting to get their hands on star destroyers and new technologies. I think though, if Thrawn was leading, or the Emperor (Who is already debatable an immortal), the battle would have gone to the empire fast. And the emperor, or Thrawn wouldn't fall to the same troll-bait that angry Daala did.

Do note that its very unlikely Harkov would have been eligible to become a capsuleer. Not everyone can become one, as you need to be basically a peak human being both physically and mentally for the procedure not to be essentially lethal. 20/20 vision, perfect hearing, intellect in the 95 percentile, blood pressure withing a very specific range, ability to run for 60 kilometers without pause and to give your full attention to several things at once... Those are all BASIC REQUIREMENTS. Overall, 14 percent of candidates only pass basic screening, and only 5 percent of these become capsuleers. So the odds of Harkov being able to become a capsuleer are really, really slim even with the technology available, especially since the last step is literally killing yourself to experience resurrection for the first time. And hell you could say the odds of any leader of the empire being eligible to be a capsuleer would be really slim. Overall, capsuleers tend to be (wealthy) nobodies that won the genetic lottery that ascend into power, rather than already powerful individuals that want to secure their immortality. If becoming a capsuleer was easy, the empires would fill their fleets with them

This was an amazing story, thanks. However calling the fleets undisciplined is a stretch - most of Goonswarm was formed by real life, deployed military. Goonswarm literally had documents on fleet discipline and won wars against far larger targets by having real life military formation, coordination and expertise. When Sean Smith passed away in Benghazi he was acknowledged as a great diplomat IRL which explains how overwhelming Goonfleet's diplomacy and intel gathering was. We had 90-something aged WW2 veteran who said EVE with us was the closest he had to the WW2 experience and he suffered from the classic "left the war, but the war never left him" problem. Over the years other factions learned from our doctrines and became more organized. I think you're conflating the goon psychological warfare (pretending to be clueless, make jokes about the players being newbies, intentionally confuse enemies, trolling) with the experience fleets had upon encountering them: it was made very clear to them that the judgment they had made beforehand was a deception and laying down the guard was arrogant, and fights that were expected to be quick wins ended up being drawn out losses as the tight formation and fleet doctrine destroyed entire corporations' reserves. Nevertheless the storytelling was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10 would listen to part 4.

Darth Vader use good tactics fram what I have noticed he is very different from Thrawn when Thrawn is fighting big battles he makes sure that no ship will leave the battle like in the battle of Atollon but Vader is taking risks like in Rogue One the Rebel Flag ship could have escaped through hyperspace but still I found that very impressive cause all of the turbolasers started to fire right after they had came out of Hyperspace and the Rebel ships were caught by suprise

I'm really enjoying the series. But will say that i thought including capsuleer tech in imperial ships was a bit of unneeded flair. It would take an immense amount of time to integrate the technology needed to truly unify the ship systems to function via a capsule. I also feel like you're either purposefully downplaying the organization of EVE players, or not really aware of how big fleets are structured. While i'm no expert on starwars, from what i gather in chat the imperial forces easily have the Ace in terms of firepower. However, what i have yet to see is any kind of dynamic logistic ability for imperial forces. Capsuleer fleets of almost any size, and especially capital sizes will have dedicated Logistics. So even if imperial forces can decimate capusleer ships. Without a similiar ability to mitigate damage, the imperial fleet would be gradually grinded down against the capsuleer fleet, whom would be able to repair and keep ships in the fight. It has been proven time and time again that logistics and numbers wins EVE fights, not just raw DPS.

I love how no-one ever includes the massive coalition north of PanFam into anything ever. Never bothered, mentioned or credited with anything. Just sitting there. Quietly. Minding their business, biding their time. Their only issue is not firepower, organization, good space, money or numbers. They have all that. The only thing they don't have, is a wealth of infamy and fame. Their only solace in the slower than average recruitment this leads to, is the majority of their recruits end up staying, as there are very few 'glory seekers' or even out-right sociopaths and assholes who go north to join the GOTG's alliances and corporations. Recruiting for a corp in this coalition is a time-consuming and sometimes depressing task, but one can't complain about the quality of those that stick around.

The rule of thumb in EVE seems to be that the longer a battle goes, the more organized and planned the fleets showing up will be.
