Starbuck scenes BSG Classic Ice Planet Zero with different hair length

I like the 70's hair on Dirk Benedict in this clip. Notice the long hair in the beginning of the clip,and the shorter hair in the following scene.

I'm more impressed that when the report came up on the screen, 'Chief' was spelled 'ei' but when it was printed it 'auto-corrected'. I wish my printer would do a final spell check for me.

The different hair length is because this scene with Corporal Komma was shot more than two months after the bulk of the episode was filmed. This was because while "Gun On Ice Planet Zero" was second in production order, it had to air fifth overall to accommodate the fact that Jane Seymour was lured back to do one more episode after the pilot, which became "Lost Planet Of The Gods." That episode had to air second from a continuity standpoint and this scene with Komma makes reference to a specific event from "Lost Planet Of The Gods" (the new female pilots) in order to ground the overall episode's continuity within the proper time frame.

I often wondered why Richard Hatch’s and Dirk Benedict’s hair got so long. By the end of the series their hair was just past shoulder length. Were they not allowed to get it cut?

Don't forget....this series was rushed to air by the Network. They were not ready at all. Episodes were being written as they were filmed. They had very little time to reshoot scenes. A little thing like that wasn't worth the effort. Thanks to Network that's why we got the recycled special effects.

No. May be the same computers but it was a narrower walk way with the same computers on each side.
