Man, I would do everything I can to make it to the meetup if y'all came to Australia. Been following for at least 2 years, since you started streaming in Heavensward; whilst I finished and graduated University, and now have an actual, real-life job. Nah, I could definitely make it under the guise of going to visit my sister at the same time (since you'll probably go to the overpopulated mess that is Sydney, instead of the best city in Australia; Brisbane).

Garrett is right; stepping into the attack after the snapshot feels great. I actually like the system a lot more for that design decision.

I'm very surprised other FFXI vets didn't mention that the game has something that is exactly like what Garrett was asking for. It was what Kyle suggested: A JEUNO RUN! FFXI has three starting cities. You can choose any of them. All three are about the same distance away from Jeuno, which is the main hub. The game's story requires you to walk to Jeuno, a dangerous trek where death causes a loss of time and XP, long before you are strong enough to take on the monsters. It was a rite of passage back in the day. WoW had something similar, if I recall. But that was actually less stressful than the Jeuno run.

Hey FF14 player that picked up FF11 2 years ago for a year+. Its an awesome game; real old MMO feel where rare items are actually INSANELY strong, and the grind was a grind. The game is class identity x100 and a major reason why FF11 players complain about FF14 classes ( summoner could summon sprites at low levels for example, paladins could use white magic, dancer had a bunch of utility dances). The systems in the game are awesome. One major flaw is the set-up; Windower(software) and some texture upscales make the game way better looking but take a bit to set-up.

The reason they rotate the Unreal fights is not just for max level balancing, but to ensure each patch players grinding it learn the new fights. Otherwise they would only learn one fight, whatever is the easiest for that expec, and only return each week for that one fight. That would lower the dev value of putting in the effort upscaling the fights.

DSR technically does but not really. You still get a full length ultimate after that. It’s really only a story device and it’s an amazing story. Cleared all the ultimates other than uwu. They’re really fun fights. Edit you got there. It is indeed a troll check point

They REALLY aught to make hall of the Novice at least semi-optional. They aught to directly and very bluntly point it out to you, probably even in a voiced cut-scene since people don't know how to read in this game.

i am in favor for some optional dungeons duty support, but i do think they need to do some retcons to have level 63 trial and level 73 trial, and 83 to have some option for duty support. there is also the optional stromblood dungeon that fill the blank from 61 to 65 that i think should have duty support. for some msq stuff, i still think ifrit should be a solo duty, since from story point, the advanturer is the only person that was not enthralled, the level 73 trial could have non playable race allies (we had a frog for gubai library as tank/DPS, also, while it would be a nightmare, ARR aliance raid that is MSQ should have duty support, and it should be the only duty support that allow the player the be revived by npcs, also, with bots doing the minimum damage needed to clear, it would allow the bosses to use some of the mechanics we hardly see.
