The Vermillion Problem has never been an easy map to play to begin with. Add to that random missiles, Nukes and several Purifier Beams and it will only get more difficult.
In this video I play the "World on Fire" mutation mission on the brutal difficulty. This mission has to be my favourite one so far, as it's not just complicated but it requires a lot of skill to complete.

I really wanted you to play the microtransaction mutation. In my opinion that was the most technical since all your actions cost money and therefore you cannot just spam apm. Please consider doing a mission with that mutation in the custom mutators.

Did mine as Karax with a Vorazun random ally. Vorazun went and completed the objectives with Void Rays and I just held static defense and SoA. Sucked having those Purifier Beams camping around the extra base, but Karax's insta build resulted in swift recoveries.

always impressed by the amount of polish and dedication blizz puts into their games. i thought sc2 is dying and a company's obvious reaction to a dying game is pulling all assets out of it and starting a new one. blizz continues to pour cash into this game & diablo 3 to enrich the experience of the initially disappointed customers. and look how far both of the games have come

Honestly, the "game is dying" point is just silly now. It was an ongoing joke that got worse over time. There are still millions of players every month, and the fact of the matter is that even at the highest and lowest levels it takes seconds to find a competitive match.

I'm not sure how SC is dying, but maybe it wasn't as THE esport since DOTA I guess. So they did finally make a DOTA by their own brand. But they have money to pump into any game, yes. WoW made / makes enough money to support all other blizzard games if they ALL flopped! lol

karax and Swann combo is great. fast unit production, extra gas, global abilities. karax gets some turrets and carriers Swann gets missle turrets and science vessels / Goliaths/thors. they can deal with most things.

At a glance, it looks like you are less for direct activity as protoss and more for terran bio or zerg. And chalk one up for general annoyance since those missiles can even target toxic nests. Not to mention that the nukes are not doing friendly fire like they used to. Damn you Amon for thinking of the little things.

Much more challenging than last week's. However I did beat it on my first try w/ a random ally. I focused on defending bases from missiles and attack waves w/ D and the Spear as Karax, and he was Vorazun and attacked. We both sent out probes to pick up crystals.

The Vermillion Problem is all about attacking, and much less about defending. His Carriers are good, but it takes a long time to build up. I would say, try to focus on another Hero here instead.

kerrigan with nydus's upgrade is good too since allies can use it, but somehow can't transport workers carrying crystal =/

It's definitely doable with Karax. I found that with other commanders, we got overrun by rockets/waves. Finished it on brutal with a Karax / Swann combo, we just took the expansion very early and walled it off with cannons. Then went mass air for vision and used commander abilities to destroy mobs defending the ores. Then it was just a matter of not running your workers through nukes.

Karax is actually good on this map; in my opinion, he's the best to use for the following reason: he can insta-warp defensive buildings. That means as soon as you get a bit of a foothold on a new piece of high ground, you just cannon and monolith push until you completely own the piece of high ground. Then all that's left is to scour the low ground with units (you can leave your ally to do that).

You could get the bonus objective while you have the last xenon crystal in your base, that way you don't have to risk anything.

This was actually quite easy on brutal. I used Artanis and paired up with Karax. Karax took care of all the bombs and took out waves using his commander abilities while I used zealot tempest with some immortal support to clear bases and collect crystals. I didn't even take my natural. Fully upgraded zealots were more than good enough.

If I were a programmer doing coding for SC2, I'd be absolutely ashamed. To such a great game come to a crawl of about 10 fps is ridiculous. And all that because they can't make it use more than 2 CPU cores. And because it's using DirectX 9 that came out in 2003 (!)

I've completed it with Kerrigan. Obviously used Kerrigan to attack and maxed out Hydras to defend and attack as well. The real MVPs were the Omega worms though. Super helpful to get my army everywhere but more importantly to get my drones everywhere. You can't travel back with the crystals in the worms so you still had to worry about the way back but it all worked out really good.

I think the inital nydus network you build with a drone gets attacked by missiles cause it's considered a building whereas the actual worms you create with the network count as units and thus do not get attacked by missiles. you still have to watch out for nukes and enemy units obviously though :)

I was actually thinking of using nydus/transports for scvs and then recalling them back for quick retrieval. I am yet to test the recall but I have tried the other ones.

why the hell none of the youtube streamers doesn't even use queens ... they play the old style zerg where your units are cannon fodder instead of immortal beasts .... Guys FFS please use more queens , their DPS+HPS is crazy , in most brutal missions I don't think that more than 10-15% of my units ever die .

Lowko actually do use Queens on ground based army but he went mass muta this time and Queens r not much useful in mass muta.

Queen's are absolutely the wrong unit for this map; they're WAY too f-ing slow and will probably get killed on the low ground from the lava. Your creep tumors get killed by the lava. You need speed and mobility; air units are what you need for this mission. Lowko absolutely made the right call in building mutas while playing Abathur.

Queens slowly walking around with no creep when lava is rising while the mutas are on the other side of the map is a bad strategy.

If you actually look at the replay you can see that he also use roaches , the idea was to use queens at the central base to intercept enemy attacks , that way the mutas have a higher fleibility .

It's the worst co op mission to date. The goal is to go to the various islands and clear out the defenses there in order to be able to pick up these crystals which get delivered to this portal thing. Each crystal you deliver gives you an extra 90 seconds of time. You must collect 20 in order to win, but if time runs out before the crystals are collected, you lose.

I think the roach mutation is better than the leviathan because the roach version has teleport(burrow) and it can shoot air so it can go for aggression and defense base simultaneously. I mean just get 3 roachs and mass muta.
