The first game was brilliant by gumiho, I always wondered how are you supossed to deliver the killing strike with battlemech when all your big units are so slow, how are you supossed to get them across and kill the main without a runby annihilating your echo? Surviving by the teeth of your skin to repeated pushes until the zerg had mined his main, natural, third and fourth base! That way he needed to mine the bases closer to the "Frontline" and that solves the problem of having to kill his main! You can just "hop" over the frontline, murder their bases and since those are their last mining bases you just kill their income and brutalize them to death

Used to not be as much of an issue because in SC1 the marines, firebats and vultures were more powerful, and they were pretty fast too with stimpacks. I'd even say vultures were strong against ultralisks because of their mines. I know you can produce marines faster in SC2 but also zerg make units like 4x quicker than brood war

I'm not sure why GuMiHo pivoted away from the mech plan. Mech is actually really good right now after the buffs. His opponent showed a penchant for roach/ravager play, which Mech deals with very well.

These games are a perfect example of why Terran NEED Static defense like Flamming Betties and Auto Turrets !! Fet this thing out of the Raven's arsenal and replace it by the Healing Disk from the Nova coop misson to get a really chance for Battle Mech!! Also for the love of SC2 please give the Banshees their AoE ability Barrage to make them teplace Tanks on the front line !! And again for the love of SC2 give Thors their AoE ability to do damage to ground in AoE form and a little CC with the stun !!

I understand what Lowko is saying regarding GuMiho's APM, but as a D3 player it's so funny to me seeing APM like that be derided as simply not good enough. On a good day I barely break triple digit APM. Either way, great series - I really enjoy GuMiho's decision making in-game.

Well, if you say "You can't argue with statistics.", then someone could tell you: "Well let's look at statistic how many Zerg, Terran, and Protoss players was in top 10 over the last year. Based on that lets decide that Zerg is overpowered and Protoss is underpowered." Someone else could argue back "Maybe those Zerg players were just better at playing the game". But then you can argue with every statistic in this way. Overall I think that discussion is pointless, because it is impossible not be biased, because you will always look from the point of view you are most familiar with. Great game and casting BTW (even though Zerg was the on that won, and I'm a Terran player at heart, and it proves that all Zerg units are overpowered, especially those pesky Drones that killed a Marine and those Overlords that can fly so fast they can scout. 😆🤣 )

Maybe a silly idea but in Game 1 when he was just throwing Ultras into siege tanks I wonder if a Nydus behind the zerg army with some queens for transfusions could’ve made those fights efficient enough to tip it. Feel like a splash of relatively cheap tech like that which is different than what you’ve done over and over again maybe could at minimum throw the Terran off guard?

I always feel the same when I see thousands of resources thrown to a turtled Terran’s front line. Yes, sometimes when you have plenty of resources you do that, but you should realize after 2-3-4 waves that circumventing the front line would be a better option (nydus or overlord drops).

@@plszuts Yeah I mean doesn't even necessarily have to go behind the line as that might not work, just find a way to get a little more efficiency. Several times there were engagements where when the Vipers ran out of energy the Zerg army wiped but there were still Ultras up and very little Terran left. Couple of transfuses and that might've been the game. But also all the queens could go bye bye and he needs injects for the strat he is playing. IDK.

From a Nydus area behind the lines the Queens wouldn't have nearly enough range to transfuse into the battle area. At this level of play they also can't wait for tumors to spread. Nydus worm would have to spawn in the battle area which is pretty much impossible as the Terran could see it.

I think they are mostly to kill the helions/hellbats and throw at scvs. Killing the hellions lets the zerglings survive hopefully and you need those for tanks/thors.

The mistake which all of these pro zerg players do is this. They get an early advantage. Then they loiter in low tech. Then they try to trade the army, but instead they max out with same stuff when starting a transition. The mistake is that they needed to invest into new transition before maxing out. Then taking an engagement with maxed out army immediately. Preferably, trading somewhat efficiently and not losing everything. Then you can fill supply with higher tier units while maintaining low tier buffer. Another mistake is that these pro players do not keep the pressure when they get such an advantage. They neither try to rush tech or expand beyond what they need. If they do not want to do either, at very least zerg could expand into terran's neighborhood and focus on mining bases which would be exclusively terran's. This would force them to move out or would hand a win for a zerg on a silver platter if game goes to late game.

Ling bane ultra is insane now. What did they think omg. Zerg a-moves, and Terran even with the proper counter composition needs to siege tanks/libs, burrow mines, stim and split bio and snipe for life. All of it to beat a-move?? @@basedandredpilled7920 Ok, I agree, Zergs used to be imba, but now a lot has changed, yes, the top players in the world are still Zergs, but it should be noted that as a race Protoss are much easier in gameplay, in the lower leagues most players have problems with Protoss, for example, Zergs have imba abilities that Viper has but in order to use this ability to the full, you must have high skills, protoss on the base require less microcontrol and this is a decisive factor in low leagues.

@@basedandredpilled7920 Also, the information that somewhere someone says that Zerg is an imba shocks me, I live in eastern Europe, here almost every player will tell you that protoss are an imba, so they think in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and some people in Poland. I can give you an example of the largest Ukrainian KZbinr about starcraft - alex007, he has a lot of videos on his channel in which he complains about Protoss. In the English-speaking community, the largest KZbinrs have always said something else, and so people began to think. Finally breaks the opinion that zergs are now imba by the fact that new balance updates are progamers, not a blizzard.

Lowko is talking in the context of pro-gamers. Sure, Gumiho is faster than non-professional gamers, but when you compare him to players like Maru, Cure, Byun, even Innovation, he's slow. Since this is a pro game, Lowko is comparing Gumiho to other pro gamers. It's more of an apple to apple comparison, instead of apples to oranges. Why would Lowko compare Gumiho to non-professional gamers when commentating on a match between pro gamers?

Try Thors & hellbats. Use the thors to target fire the ultras. Hellbats deal with the lings.

Did you transition the mass thor? Hellbat thor beats ultras, it’s the easiest way to deal with them. Libs, marauders, ghosts are the other ways. Defensive tank / bunker / PFs. But if you want to just A-move across the map hellbat-Thor for sure.

Marauder/ghost/medivac. But in two squads, the ghosts are for stopping fungals and anything that can stop stimmed marauders. You minimum need 8-12 rax to send waves of marauders.
