Really excited about this series. I started SC2 near the start of the pandemic and played Gold league Protoss after watching Harstem videos. Fell in love with your Zerg B2GM and got all the way up to Diamond 2. Halfway through your Terran series and already at the top of Plat. It feels full circle coming back to Protoss and with your last video's build I'm already up to Plat 2. Now I have assembled all my Infinity stones and become a true shitlord Random main

Gotta say PiG, as someone who spends a bunch of time training ppl as part of my job, you are an excellent teacher! I don't play SC2 nearly enough to ever make GM, but you have made my matches soooooo much more fun with this series. I'm even thinking seriously about trying out the Core because it just looks like so much wonderfully geeky fun, and has that fantastic wow factor for my LAN party invitees =D (sometimes it's not about whether you win or lose, it's how much you can make your friends shake their heads at you, amiright?). Thanks for making this longtime favorite game of mine even more fun!

Hey, after hanging mostly in bronze-silver leaguae as terran since the start of SC2... I changed race a week ago to protoss. Yesterday started watching your series; did a new leagueplacement, won all matches and now in platinum ;-). Thank you for an excellent guide, and also so less stressfull now. Mostly gonna try keep this build in 2v2; hope it will work out there as well. Cheers from Sweden!

Hey PiG! Thanks so much for these videos. I started playing SC2 in 2010 when I started college. Life got busy and it wasn't until the 2 years after the pandemic started that I thought about sc2 again. Really cool that you're doing this as I've never learned the proper mechanics. I've wondered how pro's structure their playing and your videos gives a lot of insight. I'm playing for fun, though I wouldn't mind to land in GM one day!

1:57:00 was really insightful for me. I knew probes can walk through units if you click them to mine when I noticed that's how they work going through my hold zealot in the wall, but I never thought of doing that as an offensive move.

I’ve been watching gsl lately and haven’t played starcraft seriously since 2016. The landscape has changed a lot with the expansions being so quick. Seeing your build and series has motivated me to play again. So, thank you for doing these. Since you mentioned it’s the last time you do this, I at least hope you’re able to still share builds for each matchup.

I feel like you are unique amongst a lot of educational content surrounding competitive games in that you really lean into the fact that yes, this is a complex game, but that doesn’t mean you should be scared of it at all, and everyone can get good at it. thank you from the bottom of my heart for the help, without you I was thinking that learning a build up to 170 probs was knowing how to play, but doing it step by step and letting me automate little by little as you teach was rewarding. Now that I think I know something, every day I warm up the build against bots and practice hotkeys and go ranked after, because it's no use knowing the build and not playing and going through every sad but deserved defeat. I don't want to be the best but feel that every effort is working, the most frustrating moment was facing the reality that everything I trained for 1 week was in vain because I only knew the macro. (I have 15 game days and I started with zerg in January but I had to stop, I came back these days). After watching 2 videos of yours I learned 1 build and 2 variations (which I memorized so far) and I have 3200 MMR. Thanks again, for some it's useless, but since I'm without a job (by choice), seeing that each dedicated day brought results that improved my day and I even got my wife to play. And of course the game helped change things in my personal life. sorry for english google ;V

I appreciate these videos. I've watched replays and try to learn control groups, counters, etc but it takes much more to learn. This really showed the problems with my build orders. I have a pretty solid 4 gate one base all in, but I kept trying to use the same build for all games and it really hinders production. I watched the gold one already but I'm coming back to learn the stuff I missed. Great job!

I tried building the same build order in Silver 2, having very similar attack. But 2 games in a row I encounter Terran with Battleship. They crush my army without taking damage. 1st game lasted over 20 minutes, and I eventually made Carriers with +1/+1 upgrades. Then my 8 carriers met 9 battleships. I tried kiting my carriers while my interceptors fighted, but the battleships litterally didnt take any damge, so I eventlually lost all my carriers, while he didnt lose any Battleships, even tho I kited and tried focusing 1 by1. 2 Games in a row I lost to immortal Battleships from Terran. Litterally 8 Battleships took out everything I had. I had 60k rescources whle my enemy had 31k. I had over 300 unites, while he had under 100. He won. Battleships solo crushed me. He teleported the Battleships once they where in danger, and teleported them into my base when I was going for a attack. Absolutely broken, that 8 battleships can win over 30 stalkers, or a army full of archons, stalkers, immortals and zelots. It was not even close. How do I counter Battleships? it does not matter how big my army is. The take litterally 0 damage from Carriers. Litterally 0. I focused 1 Battleships with over 20 interceptors. It didnt take damage.

You need to spend all that money you have and get superior production. Carriers are terrifying when their interceptor numbers and the carrier numbers get high, but they are bad if there are less than 12. Void rays also counter Battlecruisers very well.
@connorsterrett
@connorsterrett Жыл бұрын
I think one of his points in this series is that you should be timing an attack off of your 2 base saturation. It shouldn't be possible for a Terran to get to a critical mass of battlecrusiers by the time your push is hitting and you'll wipe someone out that's pushing to very high tech units. If your push is coming too late, that probably means you're making macro mistakes and just keep practicing the tips he's giving in the series.

@PiGCoaching
@PiGCoaching 10 ай бұрын
Because you want to be able to jump to the base and have everything in very consistent locations. If your mineral line, nexus etc are always in the exact same spot you can look away and be watching the minimap and your hands can just go through the motions using muscle memory. Creating consistency in such a hectic game like SC2 so you can develop muscle memory is what takes the game from chaotic/stressful to Organised/Focus

Me too, there are a slew of Terran builds (like early battle cruisers) that I felt necessitated a stargate, and an opponent that flew his command center to a corner :/

Protoss is confusing, I wanted to play a slower APM race but I think that protoss might me too big brain for me. Terran seems to be more APM intensive but requires less brainpower to macro and operate. As for Zerg screw larva injection and creep spread... Just eww that's gross.

haha you're kinda right. Protoss is definitely the very flexible and a bit more "adjusting to the situation" race

Bad diamond player here. And even watching your bronze and silver videos tells me why I’m a bad diamond player. And I think the only reason I got to diamond was because of the amount of games I’ve played and scenarios I understand. IMO: your coaching is awesome. And your “meta” talk for us baddies is great but maybe emphasize on the fact.. us baddies will lose these games. It took “pig” loosing 100 games to understand it’s okay for bad Terran aggression to finish the build. You (us baddies) will lose these fights and the only reason why you’re( pig) beating these silver/golds is because you “understand “ the situation and you’re an fing GM. These videos are inspiring. And I hate the talk of you not doing another GM to master. If one Smurf ruins your entire gaming experience… StarCraft isn’t for you.

The game. Where pig uses the sentries.. against the terran. Liiiike. Holding a lil kids head while hes trying to swing on u.. i just wanted to say, thats not an end all be all. Yes, it is good. Force fields, sentries in general honestly. Like, very solid unit when used properly. Like me personally. I love infestors against almost everything. But ya, ive seen a harstem vid where harstem does the same thing.. but hes playing against the kid... Clem. And clem just scoops up his units that got seperated with medivacs.. and brings them around with boost to the main.. fuggin sc2.. SOOO SWEATY!! GIT GOOD BOYZ!!

@1:59:20 I hear you getting crap from the Twitch chat.... F those bastages.... Yeah, would be doable for him to get a group of people together for a custom game but that honestly wouldn't "prove" a "bronze to GM" type of video(s). It would only be concepts. This is ACTUAL people on the bronze/silver/gold ladder that are literally trying. Is @PiG stealing MMR from lower level players? Yeah but... in this game... they should just take his advice and review the replay and improve!!! Point being... There is ZERO reason to get mad at PiG for beating up on lower level peeps. Its really only a few games total... less than 10 I think before gold.... Its not like hes constantly down there in the lower ranks beating up on newer/worse players. Just my 2 cents.

It's still super solid, you're just not doing it right. Check your benchmarks. Are you also having charge, immortals, archons and at least 105 supply hitting the enemy by 8:00? If not, you're not doing the build right

really appreciated the contend, but the amount of times you say "advanced" and brag about your "pro moves" makes this unwatchable. The drone pull f.e. , where u mineral walk the probes in position before attacking, is a f*** great tip, but you are just to full with yourself to appreciate it....

I think it's more to explain to people that they won't perform at the same level, or react as quickly as he is and to not expect themselves to. I think anyway, I don't think he is stroking his own smurf-boner

Exactly Alex. People new to the game want to emulate everything you do, you have to make sure they know what is expected at their level and what's not

Pig is an actual pro player. This guide is for people who are in bronze ect. I'm in diamond and it doesn't bother me. If I can do it, I will. Chances are I already can/do. However everyone is mechanically limited, even GMs, so it's important to be efficient. The bronze/silver player who is more mechanically limited will prolly take longer to execute it than it's worth and developing muscle memory is more important. This guys prolly the least full of himself doing this type of content.
