+Gérémy Sorlini Giguère tbh, the traits you mentioned were GREATLY exaggerated in SC2 and respective lore, even regarding the Conclave. In SC1 they were critically wrong to distrust Tassadar and his allies, but it's not like that was completely baseless, and they eventually admitted being wrong and too stubborn and joined forces with them. Overall, the Protoss in SC1/BW were much like the above poster describes them. Conservative in some regards, yes, but not quite on the scale SC2 portrays them. And the Protoss are actually very much wise and culturally developed when it comes to societal affairs and preserving natural balance, especially when compared to humans.

I wish Arbiters would return in Starcraft 2. Protoss live for hundreds of years and this unit truly characterizes their vast experience. You can hear centuries of wisdom and enlightenment in his voice. I get the impression an Arbiter would prefer to avoid violence - much like Spock or Obi-Wan would.
