Of all the cutscenes in SC, the one where they blow up the Amerigo science vessel was stuck in my mind for all those years... this scene alone was so massively badass back in those days. Glad I found it here again, brought back some awesome memories... thanks!

The terrans in game: shoot straight. The terrans in cutscenes: shoot like stormtroopers, they can't even hit two zerglings standing a foot away.

This seems to be missing a few parts - also some cutscenes during missions give a lot of context and information, it seems like cinematics don't have continuity without them. Also seems like you're missing the first couple of missions when the Zerg first show up :)

Yeah, like the infested Terran command center wasn't clear or the parts where Raynor and Tassadar come to the understanding that their moral objectives are the same. Or how Raynor was interested in Kerrigan romantically.

Fuck man, the story of Starcraft 1 is just so wildly good - It's not Game of Thrones level complex, but it sure as hell has its intricacies, its emotional punches, its own distinct flavours and mixture of themes... I love it to death, and it shaped a lot of my love for good stories told well in games. And I don't care if it's been said before in the comments, I gotta repeat it... The Amerigo cutscene - It's a work of wonder. I remember the first time seeing it as a kid, and to this day it's left an imprint on me. Rewatching it, I am amazed at the cinematographic and 'directional' brilliancy, and the sheer bad-assery of it... and it's all told in the span of 4 minutes, while making it feel so much longer and suspenseful... God did Blizzard use to fucking destroy it with their different IPs in terms of storytelling

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I am super glad you enjoyed the video, to be fair this was quite an old video now back when I first started my channel. I can assure you my editing skills are much better now, perhaps at some point I will do a new & improved version. If you stick with the story all the way through to the SC2 videos game movies I did, you will see a pretty big jump in terms of improved edits and audio etc. Appreciate the sub and look forward to your thoughts on the SC2 videos if you get around to watching them :)

@@donHaize I have actually played the Campaign before for the original StarCraft and its sequal WOL and HOTS when it launched but wanted a recap of the story before diving into Legacy for the Void. So your videos were perfect for just that! :)

Nothing. The Protoss had to glass it to make sure the Zerg didn't have a hive cluster to live. Didn't stop the Terrans though to colonize it even if it was devoid of life.

@@donHaize i mean there's only so much they could've done to the cutscenes without completely remaking them, and people would've been butthurt over that. As for things like pathing, I think that comes down to limitations of the game at that point to a degree, though they did state the unit selection limit stayed for balance reasons, since it's harder to control large groups that way. It could be similar. To be clear, I'm just playing devil's advocate here. I agree it could've been better, and the pathing and selection limits are what drove me to just playing a mod for SC2 to play the BW campaign
