If you're enjoying Starfield, good for you. Fact is, the game is mid as hell and there are plenty of deep dive reviews that show you precisely why that is. They aren't just "hate" videos, either. The reviewer played the game, explored the content and the character development systems, tried some different builds, and are giving you their two cents from a position of firsthand experience. The fact that people's negative impressions without that experience turned out to be mostly accurate is coincidence. I have nearly 200 hours into the game myself, and it's not worth the money in my opinion either. That's not being a "hater," that's being honest. So what’s the problem with someone who payed the money, bought the game and hated it? Their opinion is valid. So is yours that you really love the game. No need to go after haters unless it’s a great way to get clicks. Why not let people dislike the game if they do and you do you? In the end, Bethesda made loads and loads and loads of money and we aren’t all getting a share. They’re the real winners. So there’s no need to attack the haters. I trust Bethesda over any vlogger or random critic. From the opening hours of the game I was hooked. The amazing visuals, the characters, the set pieces, the incredible music, the list goes on. I know I'll get hate for this, but so far I like Starfield better than Baldur's Gate 3, and I absolutely loved BG3. Some of the minor side quests are your typical run of the mill quests you see on any standard open world game. But some of the missions I've played so far are among the best ever in a videogame. The Free Rangers questline investigating a farm on another planet was absolutely epic, going from planet to planet as you try to uncover the truth. Tracking people down leads you to large areas, each of which took me almost two hours to complete. The early missions of the UC Vanguard questline were a masterclass in suspense and gameplay. Make no mistake, a LOT of time, effort, and passion was put into Starfield by the Bethesda team and it's totally unfair to crucify and demonize them for it.

This is a rare case in which the bad reviews came 2-3 months after release, which I don't recall ever happened to any game. Usually a belated change of public opinion is from bad to good -- Fallout 76, No Man's Sky, etc. -- usually after major fixes. But because Starfield didn't have embarrassing bugs at launch, and that it is a long game to finish before you can notice its other problems, the public opinion remained positive for the first few months. But when people started to finish the game, the light bulbs went on, and they noticed the inherent problems with game designs. There was no "smoking gun," no clear tell-tale signs of the problems; and only people who have spent a lot of hours in the game would notice them. That may be why the negative public opinion came so late and suddenly. I've played it for 40 hours, and I tend to agree with the general consensus. I think it's like Mass Affect Andromeda, which is also an open-world game with not enough interesting things to fill up an open world. I rate both games 3 out of 5, a marginal recommendation.

yeah, i will go as far as to say that the concerns about the exploration weren't as warrented as people think. They've been saying FOREVER how the game is "Skyrim in Space" (i think it's more like Oblivion in space but regardless...), how it's a "Bethesda RPG through and through" and even when the reviewers tried the game out 2 weeks in advance they all said, including Luke, how it's -"NOT LIKE NO MAN'S SKY"-. And on top of that, Todd answered that there would be no land vehicles ages ago. Honestly, the biggest lie was Pete Hines' who, when answering a tweet, said that we could walk across the surface of an entire planet (which despite being TECHNICALLY true, is a very misleading way to put it). People who were expecting a Bethesda-branded No Man's Sky could've rearranged their expectations long before release.

I am a Bethesda fanboy and I think Starfield sucks tbh. Exploration is terrible, space flight is awful (you barely move/ your ship is more like a turret), companions had much better personalities in fallout 4, questing is a mixed bag with better dialogue options but with tired boring fetch quests for artifacts, gun play is good enough, and bugs are a given so I can’t complain about that. Admittedly, I don’t play Bethesda games for their storytelling or for their combat, so that’s not a big reason why I don’t like Starfield. The big thing is that exploration is tedious and bad. The world doesn’t have the same wonder as Skyrim or even fallout 4. It feels hollow. None of Starfield’s hubs and locations compare to the cities of Skyrim, or whiterun’s plains, Riften’s birch trees, the snowy mountainous region near windhelm, lake ilinalta, or the forests of falkreath. That is not to say that in starfield does not have cool locations; however, they are diluted by the amount of lifeless generated content and barren planets. Example: try visiting earth; it is so lazy! The Empire State Building surrounded by desert and no other buildings, London has one building, and then there are the pyramids of Giza nothing around them. Where did all the other buildings goFallout 4 and Skyrim‘s game worlds feel open world, wheres Starfield feels like a bunch of hubs that you fast travel between. One of my favorite games of all time is Star Wars, Knights of the old republic, which is an example of how hubs can be done right but the hubs in starfield are lifeless and boring and the generated content doesn’t interest me. In conclusion, like starfield, if you like starfield or hate Starfield, if you hate Starfield. But don’t act like Starfield is perfect and don’t diminish that it is a disappointment for a lot of people who are Bethesda fans. I have played 50 hours at this point, and I am still trying to persevere through the game and find the magic that is in every other Bethesda universe. Believe me I want to love this game, but right now it’s mostly boring with sprinkles of good questing and good systems like ship customization. I had high expectations going in starfield, but I didn’t think it would reach Skyrim levels. I was expecting the game to be more like fallout 4 and for me, I would rather play fallout 4.

The average player count has fallen below fallout 4 and continues to decline even further than I expected it would. Modders are already bailing on the game because why on earth would anyone waste time modding this game over better options. Hell, at that point just make your own game and profit rather than doing free labor for bethesda. Meanwhile Bethesda is starting to unleash their paid mod program for next year so for all the fanboys saying "mods will save us" Bethesda is licking their chops ready to monetize the fuck out of those mods that will make the game better, and you'll be paying 5 bucks for a goddamn weapon skin. Honestly, Starfield has been a mixed bag for me. I don't consider myself a "hater" when it comes to this game. I spent a lot of money to build a computer and on an ultrawide monitor, so I felt very invested in wanting this game to succeed and to enjoy playing it. So far, I've encountered a game breaking bug that will not allow me to complete the Crimson Fleet quest. I've tried starting a new game and I've tried going back to an earlier save, but nothing seems to work. I submitted a couple of tickets last week, but I've yet to get a response from Bethesda. I've seen that a few other people on Reddit are having this same issue, so it's not just me. Game breaking bug aside, I'm finding it hard to get immersed in this game. It's not "trash" like some of the more vitriolic reviewers claim. But it's not a masterpiece either. In the end, it feels like an average RPG with a space theme wrapped around it. The characters have deep dialogue trees, but not all that compelling. Aside from the Crimson Fleet quest, I've been able to complete all the other faction quests, and they're okay. But it feels like there's something missing. I just don't feel emotionally engaged. The Mass Effect trilogy may be relatively "smaller" in some ways, but it felt much more encompassing than this game. And it seems like no matter which background I select, it doesn't make that much of a difference in my experience. This is something Matty pointed out in his own (very balanced) review, and he's far from what can be classified as a Bethesda hater. Believe me when I say that I really want to like this game. And I'm plowing through hoping that there is a spark that will engage me at some point. But so far, it's just no resonating for me. This is just my opinion, I'm not saying that anyone else who is enjoying this game is wrong to do so. I'm happy for you if this game as fulfilled or exceeded your expectations. It just may not be the same for everyone.

As one of the haters I felt like I had to comment here. I want to be clear on my feelings so here they ard. I loathe starfield. I think its the worst game of the year. I know there were a lot of bad games this year, and starfield was at least functional. However those games didn't have anywhere near the budget, resources, time, etc.. that starfield did, so yeah, I think it easily deserves worst of the year. I watched your video and I agree starfield has had a very successful launch. Nobody is really arguing against that. I would argue so what? There are a lot of games that sell well that are not good games. CoD, assassins creed, madden, fifa, these are all games that sell well. Would you call these copy and paste off the previous iteration games good? Just because a game is financially successful doesn't make it good. Whether you like starfield or not, I think we can all agree that this game has been devisive to the bethesda fanbase at the very least. There has been A LOT of negativity pointed at this game, and you are deluding yourself if you think it's nothing but trolls. A lot us really wanted to like this game, but that didn't pan out. There have been a ton of posts, reviews, comments, and messages about all the design flaws this game has, and how has bethesda responding to this? Bethesda has told its pc players its not the poorly optimized games fault that it runs badly, you just need to upgrade your PC! Players saying that lot of planets are boring and empty. Bethesda response is to talk about how astronauts didn't find the moon to be boring or empty. My personal favorite is when bethesda responded to steam review by telling him he was playing the game wrong. I'm sorry but I seem to remember bethesda games being DESIGNED around the concept of us playing the game how we want to play it and it still being fun. All these deflections tell me that bethesda doesn't care. They know better just like they did with 76, but they just don't care anymore. To keep my post from going too long ill get to the main point. Yes a lot of us hate starfield, but that's not really why we're mad. We're mad because bethesda doesn't care anymore, and that doesn't bode well for the games we actually care about like elder scrolls 6 and fallout 5. Considering how badly they screwed up with starfield, why wouldn't i assume that they'll do same with ES6 and fallout 5. That's why so many are stirring up trouble. We want the games to be better. For those who like the game, I just have a question. Do you think starfield is a good game, and if so why? Seriously I mean that, I think a lot of people defending the game are bethesda fanboys and shills. I've watched quite a few videos about starfield both positive and negative, and even the positive ones had plenty of criticisms for of the game. You might think I'm a hater, but those are my honest thoughts.

In my opinion, the game is already good and a great sandbox. But I still see a tremendous amount of wasted potential. It's wrong to always rest on the idea that it's a "Bethesda game." It's wrong. It's wrong because Bethesda appears to exploit this mindset. Todd Howard personally stated that the engine had been pushed to its limits and everything had been optimized. Just a few days ago, that was completely disproven. The game is simply not well-optimized. One could argue that many people are trying to gloss over the problems because they've spent too much money on the game and need to somehow justify it to themselves. The "haters" have by no means lost. We should stop rewarding developer studios for their laziness. Bethesda, especially Todd Howard, once again shamelessly lied to the community and clearly misrepresented weaknesses in the game. See that Moon there? You can actually go there! You just need a hundred loading screens! (An obvious exaggeration, but you'll understand what I mean.) I like Starfield, and I often get lost in it. But ignoring issues and praising the game without compromise is simply wrong.

Initial sales don't necessarily reflect how good the game is, it could mean that the marketing was done right or that people were excited for an RPG after many years not getting any good ones. I was excited for this game so I bought the premium and I put 100+ hours into the game. I wanted to love this game but the bugs made me decide to not finish the game and put it aside until it's fixed. I couldn't enjoy shipbuilding/buying new ships due to the "inaccessible" bug that prevents you and your crew from entering, so I just stuck with an A class ship getting wrecked by C class pirates and bounty hunters. The ship rewards you get from FC and Walter's quests? I didn't get them. I could not take advantage of the outposts because those were bugged too, from stations becoming "obscured" for no reason to buttons becoming greyed out when you use the bird's eye view, oh and being unable to remove buildings and stuff on the outpost if you wanted to make changes. And let's not forget the bug where you get locked into a conversation and unable to leave so you'd have to use a save from 7 hours ago to continue playing. I think it's a bit childish and dismissive to lump all criticism into a "suck it losers" refutation, especially when there are legitimate concerns. The ones I listed here are just the ones I could remember, I encountered many more and I eventually just got fed up.

Hey, im on the same line. People dont get that we get mad because we used to love Bethesda. But this is a bit too much. Im fine with people enjoying the game, im not going out of my way to be mad at them lmao. Im just thinking that Bethesda could have made an amazing game if they bit the bullet like 10 years ago and switched to a modern engine, instead of slapping new graphics and systems on their Gamebryo, that has the same annoying issues for almost 20 years now. Oh, and better writers, dont they own Arkane? Dishonored was one of those games driven by great, emotional story and they couldnt at least emulate that a little?
@UKGeezer Жыл бұрын
I can understand your frustration with the game. I'm really enjoying it, but some of the bugs are so irritating. I've experienced the one where you get locked into conversation mode with no escape. I was talking to my companion when an enemy started attacking her. She retaliated leaving me in limbo, I couldn't select any sentences because they all vanished and I was unable to abort. Lost quite a bit of progress on that one. Another bug was when I was trying to sell some items at a kiosk, but the game wasn't giving me the credits for the sold items, and another is when I select the star port landing area at NA, it lands me in the middle of nowhere in a desert and not at the star port. I haven't got into ship building or outposts yet, so sure there are plenty more coming my way. I do hope Bethesda addresses these issues soon, I'm on xbox so probably won't have the same level of mod fixes that PC gamers are likely to get.

If you remove everything that bad about this game, which includes: An amazingly outdated game engine sprinkled with crap on top. Bad graphics, bad story plots, sluggish sound, incomplete quest, incomplete areas, bad character design, ugly NPC's, stupid quest dialogs and awful character creation. Crazy game ending crashes and bugs and also multiple physics flip outs, clunky game controls, fake planets and loading screens for basically everything. No city maps, fast travel is a joke and when you get where you are going, there is nothing to see. What's left? Yup, that's right! We have an almost OK Ship design Simulator which is the best part that mostly works. Even that gets exceptionally boring ten minutes in. It's so bad that modders like myself won't touch this game now. I'm going back back to playing good games like: Skyrim, (Before Bethesda went belly up), No mans sky, Star citizen and Baldurs gate 3. Once Bethesda gets rid of that antique engine and switch over to Unreal Engine 5, hires some real game creation talent and Todd takes himself out of the game creation process maybe Bethesda will actually make a good game out of Elder scrolls 6. I won't hold my breath though. Chances are they are still going to be using the creation engine for that too which of course will bring along instant failure regardless how good any talent may be.

But man, after the game came out and with all the problems, you're still defending it like the game is suffering unfairly, I can't defend your side now. Starfield is objectively troubled beyond performance or any technical issues that would ruin the flow of the game, it's about design. You know why there's no creativity in the criticism part, it's because people aren't hating and looking for things to hate, nor inventing stuff to justify hate, they're seeing the same problems, they exist in the game that everyone played. You should drop this position of positivity that disregard negativity, justified negativity, it's attitude born out of arrogance. Starfield sale number is only a product of a MASSIVE marketing campaign. Being critical or simply pointing out issues does not make one a hater, the game is not optimised, even worse than fallout4, although the game isnt a bug fest, some missions have bugs that make you stuck/not being able to progress, unless you use commands to bypass which disable your achievements. One of the important lessons you learn as you get older is that it doesn’t really matter what the majority of people think. I think Starfield is great. I’m 50 hours in and I’ll be playing it for a while. People tend to overestimate how good older games that they loved were. That and the hype for Starfield has left some people unhappy. In the end, I don’t care…I like it.

I agree, lots of rose-tinted glasses going on for Skyrim and Fallout 3/Fallout 4. Starfield is probably Bethesda's best game. I am enjoying it a TON. I can understand that this game isn't for everyone out there, and the flow of the game takes a little while to get used to. At first I was disappointed that the space sim angle is lacking in this game, but now that I'm 30 hours in and have gotten so much done but feel like it is only mayyyyybe 10-15% of the content available (and I am by no means doing all the best content first either, purposely leaving quest lines on the back burner and spreading things out), so given the fact that it has taken me 30 hours to do just 10-15% of the content of this game, if the space simulation and exploration was a bigger part of this game then this game would take FOREVER to complete, and you'd be wasting so much time travelling around in your space ship doing basically nothing. I do wish we could fly in atmosphere and choose a landing spot, that would be fun, but it would eventually get old and I'd just be fast travelling anyways, if fast travel were to even be included in such a game that takes the space sim angle really seriously.. I think Bethesda made the correct call by sticking to excellent quests and characters and storylines, and going light on the space exploration side of things. And even still there is a decent amount of fun to be had with exploring in this game! It just isn't quite up to Fallout or Skyrim levels in that respect. Outside of exploration though, this game is better than those ones in all other ways. With a few PC mods installed (DLSS, Better Inventory UI, Removal of the colour correction/"LUTs" and FOV set to 100) and this game is a real banger now. They just gotta give us some brightness+contrast+gamma sliders though (or a mod that provides these). Can't wait for the future updates and DLC as well. They've built suuuuuch a good template here for content releases + mods etc. I hope they do several story DLCs and that the DLCs add a lot of other, smaller goodies to the galaxy. A big wish right now would be some kind of vehicle for traversal, mechs would fit the storyline/universe they've made PERFECTLY. Give me a mech that runs maybe 1.5x - 2x as fast as sprinting, without any O2 meter and I'd be happy with that even. I feel it'd be really easy for them to implement too because it isn't really a vehicle, it is basically just an on-foot character that's a bit bigger and can move faster. Should be totally do-able and doesn't mess with their vision for the game at all. Oh well, a mod will 100% do this I am sure, if Bethesda isn't up for it.
@Mark-ed5pu Жыл бұрын
@@mraso30 I agree with most of that. The exploration and the ship fighting parts of the game aren’t the best and inventory management needs help. There are lots of things to pick on but hey, no complex puzzles that I have to look in youtube for a tutorial on 😂. There are a couple of things the game does really well. The weapon design and feel is amazing, the death animations are incredible and whoever created the lock picking mini game is a G. With mods and some DLC the game is set up well in the future, your are right.

Maybe its because the actual gameplay stayed the same since Oblivion... graphics are better, but i didnt care about those, nor the bugs. Its just that if you look past the graphics and scifi setting, its just all the same, boring Bethesda gaming loop. Story is laughably written, NPCs too, it feels like reading a Reddit hugbox and not some brand new, budding human "empire" that´s struggling to get a grip. Fans of the game probably think that all the haters are just these nobodies popping out of nowhere, but its the exact opposite. Just look at what other games have been doing, NMS, Elite:Dangerous and even Cyberpunk. Each of those games have at least one superb quality carrying the rest, while Starfield couldnt even manage one, even years later lmao.

@@vavra222 I loved fallout 4. One of my favorite games ever and if I had to name it’s standout quality it was the soundtrack. The V.AT.S system was kind of cool too. @@andreassk Same. Have not got Starfield, because of Bethesda's deterioration over the years. But I love Bethesda games and I will try it after few years. Also they say they will introduce new ways of travelling, which I hope gives us more ship based travel options. Currently they have an insanely good ship builder feature, but the ship is hardly used anywhere. The orbital dog fights will get boring soon. I have no interest in that. We should be able to use the ship to fly to space stations, fly in space and explore asteroids, do some EVA missions. None of that is there, which is extremely disappointing. I played a lot of Empyrion Galactic Survival - space game and the best part about that game was that, you can explore worlds while flying. That was extremely fun and if they dont offer that, then I will be disappointed. What I find positive is they got back Skills and even added Traits - both which were absent in Fallout 4 (a serious gut punch, if you ask me. Skills are the foundation of any RPG). Apparently dialogue has trait and skill checks, which is interesting. I will not even bother with the main quest as the writing of these main quests have sucked in all Beth games. I might just play as a role playing scientist and just do surveying and stay away from factions and main quests for a very long time. But in order to enjoy that experience, they gotta enable in-atmosphere flight. Without that, it will be pointless. So will take a call after a year and half and then look at the state of the game.

Come on, there's a laundry list of problems with the game. You know it, I know it. Literally ANYONE who's played the game knows it. You can pretend otherwise, you can even enjoy the game DESPITE the problems, but for the love of Skyrim, at least give people enough respect to actually ADDRESS that criticism instead of glossing over their points every single time. Sheesh. Never seen such a pathetic display of whataboutism. Attacking reviewers and labelling them 'haters' because they don't agree with your views is as low as it gets. If you don't actually have a good argument against their critiques then you're the one on the losing side. Want to critique? Answer this: • Why are we still seeing the same Bethesda bugs that have riddled previous entries using the Creation Engine? • What is the point in half the ship modules when they offer NOTHING? I can literally buy a medbay but can't use it? • What is the point in building outposts? They're dead, lifeless, nothing to do in them or on them. Best you can do is add a spaceport for ease of shipbuilding later. • What is the point in visiting barren moons? They have nothing on them except copy+paste points of interest with the exact same enemies in the exact same positions. • Why even have a ship stealing mechanic when you have to BUY a license for the damned thing at almost cost value? • Why is the story so unbelievably garbage? The main quest is literally just one big fetch quest with a seriously underwhelming ending. Honestly, you literally sound like one of Bethesda's PR team - who by the way have been responding to reviews with the same uninspired copy+paste responses that do nothing to address literally ANY of the points I've mentioned or the many other criticisms there are. Given the channel name, it would not surprise me if that were the case.

I have now clocked in 120+ hours on Starfield, and am very close to 100% the game. I have some thoughts, mostly good but as everyone here knows the good is quite endless. ⚠️Absolutely no hate but… SPOILERS! Starfield, after completing the main campaign. Left me with more “I want” than “I’m satisfied.”. I want so, so much more from the starborn. Unique weapons, unique areas of just friendly starborn, something like a “nexus” perhaps I’m stealing the idea from NMS, but I can’t help to “want” a in game vanilla gun set… or two… to match my new suit and ship. Speaking of the new guardian ship I received in NG+, I really really really find myself “wanting” to change it! Not much but… can’t we decorate the inside? Plants? Benches? Colors???? Chairs for companions? Something? it’s wonderful! But again I find myself wanting more in that regard. More unique starborn. Yes I’ve played through NG+ For outposts I also find myself wanting… more. More Habs… more exterior stuff. For instance… you are almost practically forced to place the armillary on your ship if you are any sort of aesthetic player. I like big, protected bases and not small collective colony habs… sooo that ends up leaving me have to setup my bases in a style to accommodate for an exterior armillary instead of building a glorious indoor one inside a giant glass dome surrounded by trees and turrent a alike. I understand the nasa punk. But I want to make my ships and my outposts feel more in-depth. I want my ship to be a reasonable version of the collectors even! Or… maybe just color my guardian black, or green, or blue. One last thing would being able to modify your weapon receivers to match your skill level. (Advanced, refined, calibrated, etc.)

This is a 7-month-old channel solely dedicated to discussing Starfield. It began with a focus on Starfield, which raises questions about the impartiality of its content. It's hard to believe there isn't some form of compensation involved for consistently praising the game. It's quite possible that this channel is orchestrated by a marketing team associated with Bethesda. Naturally, when you receive a game for free (this includes all game pass subscribers), it's easier to view it favorably, as any complimentary experience tends to be enjoyable. Upon closer examination, it becomes apparent that Starfield doesn't align with the typical expectations of a space exploration game; instead, it seems more like a space-themed loading screen simulator with rpg elements. This departure from the genre's norm can be disappointing, especially if you've enjoyed other, more expansive space games. Which you clearly haven't These observations may lead one to question the prevalence of misinformation and the susceptibility of individuals to it. Recent events have shed light on the fact that there are millions of people who are not critically discerning, and this realization can contribute to the overall chaos in the world.

I think it's a bit disingenuous to call people ignorant and completely demean the fact that Bethesda once again lied completely, there's grounds for this to be called a scam with how different the product actually is compared to what was advertised. Starfield wasn't "review bombed", 6.4 out of 10 is still an above average rating. But yes, the game is indeed around average, it's not great, nor is it awful, it's just okay. There is no need for "creativity" in a negative review, most of them are objectively stating the fact that Bethesda lied, mainly about exploration which was their biggest selling point, I don't understand what "senseless and out of context phrases" the reviews are apparently using, perhaps the time when the Boss of Bethesda said you could walk around a planet and it actually turned out you couldn't? So your argument is that because it sold well it is a good game? You realise it's only been out for a week, people are buying to try, a decent portion will refund, but yes, of course a Bethesda game is going to sell well, especially with the shady deceptive marketing they constantly do, I still fail to see anyone "loses" from this? A new release from a AAA company will always come with decent sales, especially on release month. All I'm getting from this video is anyone that says anything negative about Starfield is a "Starfield hater" becasue it sold well on release week? Despite all of the issues the game has, the fact that the advertising is completely misleading and the fact that the game is very restricting people are "Starfield haters" if they complain about any of that? I didn't expect much from this game and I still got dissapointed, I've put in 30 hours so far, it's okay, and that's all it is.

There was zero false marketing about this game. Everything said in the interviews has yet to steer me wrong as of 70 hours in. @@CEC_Engineer I mean you're arguing subjectivity here, if you like it fair enough, but the game is objectively average right now from the reviews alone. There was 100% false marketing from almost all times it was showcased, as I mentioned in my comment the head of Bethesda was caught lying about stuff (he had 150 hours in the game at the time he lied about walking around planets), you can say it doesn't exist all you want but it quite literally does. People were definitely upset over stuff like the planets being loaded into, I didn't much care, and I think many other came to realise it's not that big of a deal, but then the extra stuff they hid until release was simply too shady to disregard and 100% valid to criticize. I don't understand what you're arguing about "comparing it to star citizen and no mans sky"? They are games in the same genre and do what Starfield was advertised to do better, No Man's Sky had 4 developers initially and Star Citizen maybe a dozen and they did a far better job than a 400+ employee AAA studio at space exploration, which Bethesda specifically advertised as "unparalleled" which I guess is ironic because it is unparalleled, just in the wrong way. People expected what was advertised, and then when Bethesda set expectations for loading onto planets they adjusted, but Bethesda had several dozen more issues with the game they didn't address and people have caught on, it's simple.

That does not reflect the truth about the game. It is not a brilliant game, but it is objectively a good game for people who like the sort of game it is. There is no legitimate reason to leave a negative review about it.

@@Safetytrousers It actually does reflect the truth about the game and you can see this when even thumbs up reviews often point out Starfield's many issues.

There are not 'many' issues. Some of the complaints are what it doesn't do, but no game does everything, you have to judge on what it does do. I personally had one spinning object in 3 and 3/4 playthroughs and that was the only performance glitch I encountered.@@jamesmeldrum4563

The haters are OBSESSED. I’ve seen people obsessed with games they love. *I’ve* been obsessed with games I love (like Starfield)! But I don’t think I’ve ever seen people obsessed with *hating* on a game. It’s nothing short of BIZARRE!
@Crystan10 ай бұрын
People are rightfully disappointed. Labelling them 'haters' is a convenient way to dismiss their arguments without actually having to address them. Sweeping it under the rug, so to speak. So instead of saying 'haters are obsessed with hating' why not actually look into the reasons they don't like it. Most of them are legitimate issues that Bethesda likes to pretend don't exist.
@angeloluna52910 ай бұрын
People are hating it because they fear the next fallout or elder scrolls game will be vastly inferior than their last games.

Wow, starfield really does have delusional fanboys! I wanted soooo badly to like it since I’m a huge Bethesda fan but I couldn’t, it’s just boring and repetitive with no real exploration which is why I’m back to playing Skyrim again. It’s just the truth that starfield is at best a 6 or so out of 10 game. Maybe in a couple years it could be great, let’s hope so

I have a passion for sci-fi and exploration, but unfortunately, this game didn't meet my expectations. While I knew what to anticipate, it failed to introduce any groundbreaking elements, feeling more like a step backward for Bethesda. I'm not a hater or a devoted fan; I'm simply a gamer who found this title to be average and unable to fulfill its hype.
@ABustyBanana Жыл бұрын
I Don't lose anything because I don't care about the game at all. it's just another Bethesda game just like Halo Infinite is another 343 Game. The fact people care this much about a video game is shockingly stupid in general. It's a Mid game and we all know it. P.S. Complaining about how the "Haters are in an Echo Chamber" when this videos comment section is an echo chamber is just straight up hilarious.

I played about 25 hrs, and I must say: the story and world building are so, so banal and bad. I hoped Bethesda would take the best from its previous games and advance, instead it regressed. It’s not a bad game at all, it just doesn’t deliver on its promise, it’s potential is untapped. I just don’t know how they weren’t able to create a better story, side quests and world building in so many years of development. It’s unfathomable to me..

I've run into a lot of current day social issues in the game. Makes me chuckle everytime. Sad that the writers couldn't seperate themselves from their social/political ideals enough to make something fresh. Makes me want to troll most of the npcs in the game with all their relationship drama quests.

As an rpg, it's a success. No complaints there. As a space sim, it's a complete failure. Solo devs with indie projects have come up with better gameplay in their alpha builds. Also...the absolute androgynous state of the character creator is pretty sad. God FORBID a woman have breasts or more than three feminine hairstyles. Plus, there's been serious issues discovered with the code recently, or so a VKD3D dev claims (whatever that is). All in all, they could've done better, and there's absolutely no excuse for producing an unfinished product when you're a gaming studio as big as Bethesda.
@torinmoore Жыл бұрын
the character creator is fine idk what you mean by that but i do agree that exploration sucks ass but it doesn't need to be that good for this kind of game

@@torinmoore I'm talking about there not being a single female hairstyle that is shoulder length or below. The only thing I can think of is that they got lazy with the hairstyles and didn't want something that could clip into their armor designs. Once again...unacceptable.

My opinions of Starfield are mixed. I'm not all that far into the game, so my opinions might change as I continue to play though. My main issue though is that I don't really care about my character, the story or the world. I simply wasn't all that hooked into things from the get go, and I don't really feel connect and pulled into to the world and lore in the way I am in some other games. This might change as I continue playing, but I shouldn't have to force it. This pull should come naturally, and it simply didn't for me. I believe that the traveling system is a part of this immersion breaking for me, and would like to see it revised - but I doubt it'll happen. I'm also not all that excited for the procedurally generated planets. I prefer hand crafted content, but understand the need to use procedural generation for games of this scale. It's just hard to be excited about the more generic, generated content. And then there's the performance issues. This game seems to be unreasonably heavy to run, given the visuals. At lest when compared to other games. But I expect this to improve with a couple of patches.
