The Pegasus replicators and Milky-Way galaxy replicators are an example of parallel inventions. Basically, replicators were invented twice: once in the Pegasus galaxy and once in the Milky-Way. They're also not exactly the same: Pegasus replicators were invented as nanites that take human form. Milky-Way replicators were invented by Reese as lego-like toys.

OR the "father" of the android Reese was an ancient that wanted to stone for making the Andromeda galaxy replicators by making something new a positive...and made Reese. Hey, not every good intention works out, right?

the Milky-Way/Andromeda Replicators evolved into nanite humanoids with help from the Asgard time-dilation device.

@@lordofalltime YES- they were younger creations and not as sophisticated. I'm not saying the "father" intended to make anything malevolent- but using the old base code might have doomed Reese to insanity.

we do the replicators dirty, because that is the ONE time that Stargate actually gets human behavior correct all of Stargate shows the best parts of human behavior, and the best concepts about how humans would react to situations, right up until dealing with the uncanny valley (robots that look too human)........mind you, when i reference human behavior, i am talking specifically of the SG-teams, whether Jack/Cameron's team, or Shephard's team, or their superiors, Hammond/Landry and Weir

I absolutely hated the human form replicators in SG-1. Terribly made villains and not very well explained, too overpowered etc. But here it makes absolute sense and they're super cool and scary.
@Educated2Extinction4 ай бұрын
So, they should have been the tropiest of villains and explained themselves to us? "We're going to destroy you, but before we do, let us tell you everything you might need to know to thwart our evil plans."
@Petrosman4 ай бұрын
@@Educated2Extinction those were the SG1 human form replicators you mean? Cause I loved the bugs. No need to explain anything, they're just machines interested in only one thing. Self-replication.

i have my theory about ascension. from everything that has been seen on screen......once you hit a certain percentage of brain power, your organs start shutting down, and you either ascend or die so first.....we use all 100% of our brain right now.....that is what MRI's and EEG's show.....but these are not able to determine what is being used by the conscious thinking, verse the unconscious thinking. I "imagine" that, 5 - 10% of your brain power is conscious, while the other 90 - 95% is your unconscious, controlling things like circulatory system, cardiovascular.....even breathing (when you are sleeping).....all of your organs, being controlled by your unconscious. The higher the percentage that comes under the conscious control, you now have to CONSCIOUSLY think about making those systems work. If you don't focus on controlling those systems consciously, well, the unconscious lost control, because YOU hijacked the system.....if you don't do it, the unconscious can't, and you die.......everything from consumption, to digestion, to waste disposal, to circulatory (heart beating), to central nervous system.....all of the organs that produce hormones and endorphins.....circulating the blood, cleaning the blood, refueling the blood, RESUPPLYING the blood.......i imagine, that if a person were able to come to 95% of the brain under conscious use, he/she could devote a significant amount of attention to bodily processes, and they could push themselves easily to 98% or 99%, even 100%......but at this point, all the person would be able to do is, focus on their own elevation (enlightenment)....but let's face it, once ascended, that is really all that the ancients all others to focus on, their own continued enlightenment. once you reach 95%, your path is locked in, you either focus on maintaining your life, or you die......the only reason to focus on maintaining your life, is to be able to achieve a higher percentage, upto 98 - 99 - or even 100% that is how i imagine ascension

Instead of just destroying this new city ship, they should’ve tried…a certain trick, that they use later in the series, to *take* the city from them. Then we’d have a spare city ship.

The show depends on them always limping from one overwhelming situation to another. With this many zpm's they would be too powerful for the series to remain interesting.

Casting David Ogden Stiers in this episode always felt a little off to me. Also, the interest some of these replicators have in "ascension" is off, as the individuals all seem to be linked to each other, so if one is interested then why not all of them?
