This movie explains why Vader was so pissed off at the start of episode 4, moments before confronting his daugther he saw with his own eyess that her ship escaped with the plans just to have her look him dead in the face and say "not got a clue mate" lol

Did you finish the Mandalorian season 3 though?? The last 2 episodes had some insane fight sequences and I loved getting more madalor-lore. Ya, I could have used less of Bo Katan, but Jin Darin never wanted to lead the mandalorians, so I was ok with her taking the lead in that sense. The original mando characters were still the best characters.
@Krisishere
@Krisishere 7 ай бұрын
@@leora8278 I did finish season 3, and I did not mind Bo Katan having a prominent role in the season, my issue is more so with the writing and pacing of the story they did try to tell. There were moments for sure when the season was great, it's just that the vast majority of the season had rushed elements and they had to jump through several loops to accomplish what it was they were trying to do, e.g. Din giving up the Dark Saber in the manner that he did. I wasn't opposed to Din giving up the darksaber, but the direction they took was very lazy. To summarize: weird pacing issues, rushed elements, but still some great moments by the latter part of the season. You can't deny there was a significant drop in quality from season 1 and 2 to 3. The story felt like it had far less weight.

Alan Tudyk (the actor playing K2SO) accidently hit Diego Luna (Cassian Andor) for real in the, "I'm taking them to prison to imprison them," scene. If you go back and look at it, you can see that Luna covers his face...because he is laughing in surprise. You have to imagine the scene being filmed, with Tudyk standing on stilts, wearing a mo-cap suit with long arm extension things, super embarrassed because he just accidentally decked one of his co-stars.

The great thing about this film is how much it improves the other films. You totally understand why Vader was fucking pissed at the beginning of A New Hope. Princess Leia straight up lies to Vader's face: "I'm a member of the Imperial Senate on a Diplomatic mission to Alderaan." Vader must've been like "Are you fucking kidding me!? I literally watched you blow up an imperial base 20 minutes ago, now where are the damn plans!?"

I am German, 62 years old and have been a fan of the films since 1977 (A New Hope). I no longer believed it was possible for Star Wars to return to its roots. A plot in which all heroes die without exception, and none of them suddenly come back using some cheap trick. An action that is determined by reality and not some pipe dreams. Dead is and remains dead. The question is how far the “heroes” will go to carry out their tasks. . Everyone is clear about it. what is the consequence that results from one's own actions. It's all or nothing. An outstanding film with very, very good actors. I didn't believe that Disney of all people could pull off this feat. Luckily, I was absolutely wrong. A film that wasn't made for the bubble-gum audience. The one who expects a happy ending with a final award of a medal and a longing look, Fortunately, you will be massively disappointed. At the end our friend Darth Vader appears and shows everyone what he is, a merciless killer.

i really wish they stuck with this style of Star Wars films. cause even George Lucas said it himself that he created the Star Wars trilogy and then planned to do each other Star Wars film as separate films about different characters within that Cinematic Universe who fought in or were related to that Part of the original trilogy's war against the Empire. and Rogue One is so Interesting because it embodies that format because lets face it in the grand story of all this Rogue One's team are a bunch of nobodies and if we saw them die in the original Trilogy we would think nothing of them, theyre just side characters and NPCs but when you make a movie like this and you give them a character, story and mission and then show them die it makes you think How Many Other Great People Fought in or Died in the Original Trilogy that All Had Their Own Incredible Lives and Stories Before Joining the Republic or the Empire.

This was an incredibly well made movie. Amd in the theater... holy shit was it good. And ending leaving us literally right when Episode IV starts. Suchban awesome story of a major thing that we had only heard of. The humor fits perfectly. It feels genuine amd not forced. That soace battle at Scarif is so damn good. Disney hasnt done perfect... but all of them have been fun. I honestly enjoyed them a lot. The main issuebwith 7-9 is that Disney was too worried about what the fans wanted so they played it safe instead of taking risks and making something like Rogue One. I have a very good friend who was a show writer for Star Wars Land. They had toral access to everything from the films including 1st drafts of 8 and 9 as they were being written. He let me read hisbcopy ofbwhat 9 was going to be before the fans lashed out over 8. I enjoy 9bas it is, but it was going to be badass as hell. Disney seems to have learned though as the shows have been very well done. Mandalorian. Andor. Extremely well done. I hope they give us a film in the universe that is something equally new and unexplored. THAT would be am adventure.

This movie is so good it irritates me. Likeable characters characters characters, great dialog, and a great story that expands the universe while closing the original plot hole that led to so many fandom debates. All this greatness from SW while Disney was in charge, and still, they tried to convince us the 8hr of unmitigated trash fires they call a trilogy was the real masterpieces over Rogue One. Goddammit Kathleen

Fun fact: when Alen Tudyk approached Anthony Daniels, the original voice actor for C-3PO, and asked him how to make his character of K2 as much of a beloved character as C-3PO, the actor said, “oh, that’s bit of a lofty goal, so I will suggest, just making it your own…”, and upon seeing Daniels before the premiere he told Daniels “I’ll be asking you for notes afterwards, if that’s alright..” and at the after part Tudyk asked, “So what did you think!?“ To which Daniels replied, “Fuck you…” 😄 Immediately after Tudyk asked, “Can I quote you on that?😆“ Daniels gave the affirmative of, “Oh yes!”

As much as I like Rogue One, this is the worst part of the movie since it kind of ruins the beginning of A New Hope. The whole beginning of A New Hope is "We have some spies that have told us your ship has the plans that were stolen from us. So we're going to search your ship until we find them." and Leia saying "You have no proof. You stopped us randomly and we're a diplomatic vessel. I don't care what information you have about some plans aboard our ship." When you combine them together, it involves Vader literally at the door to their ship watching the plans go inside. He's about to murder them all. Then he turns and watches that ship leave. Then he apparently gets in his ship and jumps after them. Then, knowing with 100% certainty that they have the plans, Leia still attempts to convince them that there's some doubt. Plus, we're not sure how Vader tracked them to their location. In my head cannon this only makes sense if ANH was like a week later and they randomly ran into them...but then what were they doing during that week?

Yeah, out of all the Star Wars movies released under DIsney, this is the one that's the most well regarded. And it's understandable to see why. The script is pretty tight for the most part, the action is spectacular, the cinematography was next level, the characters (while we don't have much time with them) are all pretty cool (at least in my opinion) and it has one of the most unique endings out of all the Star Wars movies. I mean, all the characters die and they don't even know for sure if the Rebellion will succeed in the end. But they made the ultimate sacrifice anyway just so others would have a chance to restore freedom to the galaxy. God, I love this movie!

Storm troopers are actually extremely effective soldiers. The only reason why you never see them do shit is because you’re always looking at them from the perspective of characters with plot armor. A normal trooper is said to have the ability to land 1 in 5 shots on an enemy, which is impressive even by a modern soldier’s abilities. It’s more likely that they’ve already killed most of the good guys already by the time the movies kick off. Regular rebels die pretty often to a storm trooper. They’re like the Combine in Half Life

Fun fact: the actor for K-2SO, Alan Tudyk, physically acted out his scenes on short stilts while wearing a mo-cap suit, to sell the authenticity of his interactions with the other cast members. That slap he gives Cassian when they get cornered on Jedha was real and improvised by Tudyk, and they left it in. You can even see Diego Luna trying to cover a surprised smile during the rest of the scene. 😂 Also: many of the shots of the X-Wing pilots at the end of the movie are unused shots from the Death Star battle in A New Hope. You probably don’t remember, but some of the actors in this movie have also portrayed a character in the MCU. Mads Mikkelsen (Galen Erso) was Kaecillius in Doctor Strange 2016, Forest Whitaker (Saw Gerrera) was Z’uri in Black Panther 2018, and Ben Mendelsohn (Orson Krennic) was Talos in Captain Marvel 2019. Jimmy Smitts previously portrayed Bail Organa in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Bail is Leia’s adoptive father. Out of all the deaths, K-2SO was the most emotional. Even as he was on his last knees, he still held on long enough to help his friends achieve their goal. My favorite characters overall were Chirrut Îmwe and Bodhi Rook. The Ip Man himself Donnie Yen is always a win. I also teared up as Chirrut in his dying words told his friend Baze Malbus to find him in the Force. Chirrut isn't a Jedi, but it's implied that he's Force-sensitive. He was able to sense Jyn's kyber crystal. What's special about kyber crystals is that they're connected to the Force. They're also what give power to the lightsabers. Also, Chirrut gets the funniest moment in the entire movie when they bagged him. Bodhi also deserves credit for his contributions to the team. His protocols were highly essential, especially with infiltrating Scarif. By the way, Riz Ahmed was also Carlton Drake in the first Venom film. He’s also a rapper and a member of the Swet Shop Boys. They haven’t released much music together as a group, but if you put Riz on the mic… watch out! Diego Luna reprised his role as Cassian Andor for the Spanish dub. He also has his own series titled Andor which takes place five years before the events of Rogue One. And yeah, he dubbed for his show in Spanish as well. The first season has 12 episodes, and a second season is on the way. The recent strikes delayed production, but Diego recently said that filming is almost complete. There were also plans to make up to five seasons, but after some extensive reviewing they decided to conclude the show with season two.

Its my fave star wars movie also, I went into the theatre with mid expectations but wow was i blown away, the way it is shot, the score, the action and characters... and the way it seamlessly transitions into a new hope is just so so good.

40:40 - You called C-3P0 “Goldman” (I don’t think you called him by his name even once)…trust me, we’re used to it, and it’s part of the charm of your reactions. 😂

The door being jammed. Everyone turning to see what the noise was. The eerie silence. The heavy breathing. Lightsabre ignition. (OH WE'RE FUCKED) "OPEN FIRE!" There's nothing they can do, ad we knew it,

The amount of excitement coming from Alex during this entire movie is amazing. Glad he enjoyed it as much as we did.

I still love the little bits of detail, like how some of the x-wing pilots grew moustaches before filming to fit in better with the 70s aesthetic of the original

If I'm not mistaken, they actually just used footage of the original actors from A New Hope in the final battle

Both actually, but well spotted, as there are new pilots for Blue Squadron and others that died before Yavin... shame to not see Porkins though hehe

So glad to see a hype reaction for the end scene with Vader. I was grinning like an idiot in theaters when I saw this. I missed Episode IV by a decade so it was so cool to see Darth Vader on screen being an absolute badass.

Fun fact the Blind Man was using force shield to protect himself hence why the Death Troopers couldn’t hit him. And why the one noticed and shot the terminal to cause an explosion instead of directly trying to hit him.

Even more fun is the blind man is Donnie Yen. He also played Ip Man AKA Bruce Lee's teacher.

Was that like the EU explanation or was that what the writers/director of the film originally intended.
@hagank1111
@hagank1111 7 ай бұрын
@@dibsdibs3495 There was no EU explanation cuz the EU was destroyed by Disney back then. This was the explanation given by context and lore. Including in the visual guide and Disney books. I am an EU purist but sadly no this isn’t based on the EU just context clues.

@@hagank1111 i know I mean Disney expanded universe. An expanded universe is what you say to refer to extra content that expands on a particular saga. It’s not a term that’s exclusive to Star Wars. I wasn’t referring to Legends. It’s quicker to say EU than “novel, comic book, guidebook, audio drama, video game, etc.” I was just asking cuz I know there was that comic about chirrut and the other guy and also the prequel novel to rogue one called Catalyst. If you’re just basing this on context clues then it’s just head canon. The force could’ve just moved the blaster bolts away because that was the will of the force and not necessarily chirrut using the force. That’s always been the justification for why the protagonists in SW movies never get shot.
@hagank1111
@hagank1111 7 ай бұрын
@@dibsdibs3495 In this case as I said it’s based on context clues, which dose not mean head-canon if your actually knowledgeable on the subject and have evidence, information form the visual guides, books, and comics, esc. It was indeed the Will of the Force but he was slightly force sensative as well. So it’s not head canon. Also Disney dose not actually use the term Expanded Universe as that term eludes to the old EU and that’s something Disney hasn’t wanted attached to them until recently. They renamed the EU Legends because they wanted to change its name, it’s meaning, and it’s weight. The EU did mean material outside the movies but it grew into something far more then that. However, Disney has never had an EU as they don’t call their things outside their movies EU. They just call it apart of their Universe because they want it to all be one thing. The Disney Canon. This is something they’ve made known time and time again.

Alex, i saw this opening night. And it was unforgettable. Just imagine the crowd starting yelling at the top of their lungs when vader slaughtered everybody. Then the door opened showing Leia and then everybody went silent and some in tears and then the entire theater giving a standing ovation! Love this movie!
