Having a character like Jay in a more-or-less 'Straight Up' show like SG-1 will always be a delicate dance. Clearly he was comic relief, but we also HAD to believe he really could do his job. That he wasn't hired on a fluke. I think they found that line, both times Patrick showed up.

Patrick was great in Stargate: SG-1 and I usually watch both of his episodes back to back because they are so much fun. I listed The Other Guys as one of my all-time favorite episodes because of Patrick's comedic timing and delivery. Great, great episodes. Well done sir, well done. BTW, Stargate: SG-1 was a favorite show among professors at West Point and our Department Head would argue which episodes were the best and he was a world-renowned chemist. Never underestimate how much influence you may have on people even decades later.

I remember when I first started to watch Stargate sg1 I was about ten years old and it would be on in reruns in the middle of the night and sometimes I would be up and I would watch Stargate sg1 and I fell in love with it and I still watch it 20 plus years later.

And yeah I first watched Stargate when I was 9 or 10 years old and now I'm 34 and just watched all the Stargate shows and movies again, I just finished the stargate binge a couple days ago and now I'm having stargate withdrawals, so I asked around a bit and found the show Dark Matter which has a lot of the people who worked on Stargate as writers directors and actors. Amanda Tapping directed at least one episode that I noticed. The David Hewlet who played Rodney McKay from SGA is in it as an actor, Torri Higginson who played Elizabeth Weir from SGA is in it acting, Mike Dopud from SGU is in it acting, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head. Great show though, it kind of feels like a darker version of SGU with a lot of killing and crazy acrobatic choreography. It even starts with everyone on a ship coming out of stasis pods with their memory wiped so it's kind of a call back to the end of SGU when everyone entered into stasis pods at the end. Also the show Firefly has some of the people from Stargate in it and is a short but great show and has a really good sequel movie called Serenity. I also heard Amanda Tapping has a lead role in a show called Sanctuary, and Michael Shanks is in there too, haven't watched it yet. there's also a show called Farscape with Ben Browder and Claudia Black. It's a pretty wild one with Jim Henson doing a lot of puppets and practical effects.

It never occured to me he was Harold in Red Green until your comment! Just goes to show how good and diverse of an actor he is.

@@MrLunario He mentions it in this interview, lol. Also, let's be real here, he both sounds and looks like Harold in The Other Guys (partially because he filmed SG-1 while RGS was still recording, 2002 while Red Green ended in 2006) that it was incredibly obvious to me when I first saw the show.

Patrick McKenna as Felger was awesome! One of my all time favorites. The way he played Felger stood out among all the other amazing episodes.

Patrick and The Other Guys, so much fun with just the right amount of humour and serious bits.

Felger was a great character, I really loved those episodes. Somehow despite watching the red green show as a kid I never realized he was the same actor. Neat.

"Felger...!" Interesting guy, bearing only a slight physical likeness, not so heavy, hair colouring (also not slicked down) and his usual voice... good to see him and hear his take on Felger, SG1 etc. Hope if the Stargate series flies he can be fitted into one episode, or, even better story arc, along with RDA, Amanda Tapping and the rest of the original cast handing over gradually yet also remaining linked in and occasionally appearing. oh my wish list.
