David Arnold went hard composing this soundtrack for what should of been a throwaway sci-fi movie like Stargate. Like John Williams and James Horner did for other sci-fi series this soundtrack really elevates the entire movie, and should stand with the likes of Star Wars and Aliens.

I was born in 91 & remember these 90's movies "Stargate", " Independence Day" , "Jurassic Park" as being just SO MUCH BETTER than todays blockbusters.Even the Music Scores. I reckon because we were the generation first introduced to CGI we could really appreciate it. Where as its common place nowadays and under appreciated. Having said that I was just a kid then, maybe it was all through the eyes of a child. Am I wrong or where these movies above & beyond??

I went to the cinema in 1994 to see this movie when I was 15. I remember the effects at the time as being awesome. To me they still look awesome.

1:54-2:34 is the best! I love the way the Stargate theme plays one last time at 1:54. "I'll be seeing you around, Dr. Jackson."

The soundtrack is magnificent. I purchased it back in 1995 and I still love it. David Arnold must have been influenced by Tchaikovsky when he composed Stargate. This track shows it well. There are echoes of Tchaikovsky at 0:00 - 0:22 and then again at 1:16 - 1:49.

The amount of emotions conveyed is really rich, between the farewell when put in the context of the movie back then and us now knowing all the adventures that SG-1 will go through. Even if movie and show aren't inter-cannoned per say, the knowledge of what's to come is simply too enjoyable to not take in account; and this track bridges the two completely.

This whole score is both magical and yet still futuristic. Especially from 2:30 onwards, if l close my eyes and have my headphones on, l'm literally teleported back to 1994. Pardon the tears.
