I feel like Setesh should have been what Ba'al was, a reoccurring earth based villain who could bring a different kind of threat for SG-1 to deal with

the thing about egyptian gods is that they had perdiods of decline, comebacks and even retconning depending on who was in power.

I also always felt like they could have done more with him, even if it was just him being on Earth causing chaos on a wider scale.
@sg-24Ай бұрын
Agreed, maybe he could have been a a minor issue they would have had to deal with. Maybe he would find out the gate was in use and was trying to get back to it or something.

I must've watched this series 2-3 times before I realized Baal wasn't Seth who had escaped somehow.

Kinda surprised that it wasn't mentioned but a good point to make is "how many hosts has Seth had on Earth" I doubt he had a Sarcophagus in his possession, especially as those things ain't subtle in their appearance, and his host as of stranding on Earth probably can't have lasted to the modern day, he would have died of old age. Therefore, how old potentially was the Seth host that got crumpled into a hole by Carter? I'm certain Goa'uld do give their hosts longevity, however, not 2000+ years of it without Sarcophagus assistance. The symbiote could I'm pretty sure based on Selmak but still.
@sg-246 ай бұрын
If I remember right Selmak did state that Seth would have to switch his host over the years due to a lack of a sarcophagus. My best guess is that switch host every time one of his cults failed.
@JimmyBlether6 ай бұрын
@@sg-24 Now that you mention that, him changing host every time he reboots his cult would make logical sense as it means he can't be as easily tracked

Regarding the point on minor gods. I am personally alright with that as in universe it has been thousands of years since the mythology was developed. Aside from the fact that actual stories can be exaggerated or otherwise misleading. The time span involved allows for changes in the fortunes and politics of the system lords. A major figure thousands of years ago might be a minor player in modern day. Enjoying the pure nerd experience tho. Please keep the videos coming.

Is there any chance of doing a video featuring my favourite character in Stargate SG-1, Dr Janet Fraiser? Brilliantly played by Teryl Rothery, she was killed off in seaon 7, a move that did not add anything to the show, her character should have been developed, instead she was underused, which was a shame because she had so much to offer.
@sg-242 жыл бұрын
Sure I can do a feature on her. Though I will warn you it might take a while because I have a list of request by people. That along with school mean it could be a while before I get to her. I do love the character too, and would love to do a video on her. Would you want me to give you a shout out in the video when I do do it?
@DavidSmith-fs5qj2 жыл бұрын
@@sg-24 Thankyou for your reply and kind words. No problem re how long it will take. Janet was a really popular character, dont know what it is with Stargate and doctors, not content with getting rid of Janet, they go and repeat the trick and kill off another popular character, Dr Carson Beckett. It doesnt make any sense from a creative point of view, the writers are deprived of potential storylines, just imagine Fraiser and Beckett together. Yes please, i would you to give me a shout out in the video, very kind of you to offer.

You have to wonder how he stayed so young looking for thousands of years without a sarcophagus? And if He did have a sarcophagus, what happened to it?

I believe the theory they said in the show was that he would switch host every few hundred years or so.

Perhaps Setesh singled Osiris out, of all of the Goa'uld who civilised Humans, to make an example. I mean who would be better then your Brother, to send a Message that you mean it?
