I just got the esprit 120 and thinking of getting the apex reducer. How have you been getting along with it since the video was made?

Also, Do you know if it's able to completely fill up an aps-c sensor?

I am now using skywatchers own 0.77 reducer flattener. I found getting sharp stars right to the corner with my aps-c sensor impossible with the apex reducer! And also the vignetting was really strong which of course is possible to fix with REALLY good flats but I wanted something to cover the aps-c comfortable, and changed to the skywatcher 0.77 which is beautiful! Lovely flat even frames everytime no matter what gain I set up on the camera. Pin point stars to the corners. Very pleased with their version! 👍

@@waynescave3844 thank you so much for clearing that up for me! The Apex just seems a bit too aggressive and even though I'm using 4/3 I want to have ability to shoot with aps-c. Not many discussions comparing these two but now I'm sure I'll take the sky watcher! Do you have you photos online somewhere? Would love to see what you've made.

Guys, this just helped so much! Im owning the skywatcher reducer and was thinking of switching to the apex L. After reading this i changed my mind. The Skywatcher reducer is working flawless after putting some 1mm spacers. Thank you so much!

Would love to see some sub-exposures before and after the reducer

Yes I see what you mean. It'd be a good visual compare. It's a pain taking it out and in again as setting focus is totally different places etc. I have only shot M33 without the reducer so I may try to get some comparison shots in if I can before M33 goes out of my view in the sky! 👍 Thanks for your input.
