What the Captain said was correct. When Jasmine told the Captain Aladdin was a victim of circumstance, Abdul was also a victim of circumstance due to being killed because Aladdin stole a loaf of bread (along with the other guard, the sword swallower and the guy who sleeps on nails). The captain introduces Baful to the audience as the twin brother but refers to Abdul's death.
