Regarding Pirates 2024 playoff prospects, right after this video was published the Pirates played all 3 NL West contenders(Padres 2 series)and lost every game falling 9 games out of the last WC spot. The Bucs are very competitive and play hard but have a long ways to go to actually be a playoff team.

@_JamesBrown yes, that's true with all good pitchers, but that doesn't mean there isn't an extreme amount of stress on the arm tendons. You should check out some of the newest research on the subject, it's unreal the amount of stress pitching puts on certain parts of the anatomy.

If the Pirates ownership doesn’t put a winning team around Skenes and Jones they should be stripped of ownership by the league. Pittsburgh drafting generational talents is nothing new. Lemieux. Joe Greene. Jagr. Crosby. Clemente. And these are just the very best players. This city is spoiled with amazing players and championships. For a small market city it’s wild. Skenes looks like a real ace. The dude throws smoke. Freaking rockets. And his breaking pitches are disgusting. And he’s only 22. So this season may not be a playoff run, but the pirates are a joke if they don’t break the bank to put a winner around Skenes before another team breaks the bank to take him away. If this guy is for real long term, there’s no way he plays his career out in Pittsburgh. There are teams that would pay him, just him, more than the buccos entire salary hit each year. A lot more. So Pittsburgh better not waste time.

Skenes is an extraordinary talent but as a starting pitcher he can impact his team's fortunes only about once every 5 games and propbably not the entire game. Position players are out there every inning of every game unless given a day off. Position players take every turn at bat and can play a demanding position in the field. Starting pitchers never bat anymore unless you're Ohtani and aren't known for playing the field much.

I think it’s pretty funny to see how Skenes, a rookie, is unanimously pushed to the All Star Team, but in the WNBA, the pettiness and jealousy has stopped them from putting Caitlin Clark on the All Star Team. I think it says everything about why people love men’s sports and overwhelmingly dislike women’s sports. The women just ruin it all over their stupid emotions and pettiness lol. All the players in the WNBA went on about how Clark isn’t ready for the All Star Team or the Olympic team, when she’s the entire reason people are even watching the WNBA right now. I know this has nothing to do with this video, but I just thought it was a bit funny how everyone agreed how Skenes, a rookie should be on the team, but in the WNBA, they all went against Clark, purely out of jealousy, when she’s no doubt one of the best players in the entire league.
