I'm an EU immigrant, came before Brexit to do my PhD at one of the best UK unis. I'm considering leaving because the UK is such a dump. I don't want to pay taxes to see it spent on millions claiming all kinds of benefits: the "sick" who could work, people who decided to have (lots of) kids without being able to pay for it themselves, illegals, asylum seekers, crime from non-natives and people whose origins lie elsewhere, healthcare tourism, healthcare for lifestyle illnesses people don't want to fix themselves. Rafe is quoting 'net migration' figures as gross total new residents. Unfortunately this is the norm in media. Beyond frustrating that people can't understand net vs total migration.

Not true. Rafe makes the distinction in his video. Indeed, Rafe has done more than perhaps anyone to warn people not to be fooled by net migration figures and always to use ths gross number. It is something he is passionate about and he has said this repeatedly in the media, in lectures, conference speeches etc. Several of these are on our KZbin channel.
