I also grew up in the 70s with these amazing and beautiful Men. NO autotune, just pure talent. Todays music cannot be compared with all the autotune and added effects when they sing, plus they all are created by the cookie cutter mold. Most wouldn't make it, they have no talent. Want real talent? Check out Dimash Kudaibergan from Kazakhstan who came into world view at a Chinese talent show singing "SOS". That is a great reference to ssf tart your Dimash journey. He sings in 12 languages, plays 7 instruments, has 7, YES,7 octave range, 2 masters degrees in music and theater and currently working on his PHD and the best part is that he has remained humble and grateful dispite his HUGE success. Next is Diana Ankudinova from Russia who came to the world view with Rechenka (River) age 14. Age 15, same competition sing Wicked Game (cover to Chris Issac), HUMAN (cover to RagN'Bone Man). Now age 19. Her latest is "I can't help falling in love with you (cover to Elvus Presley), Crow (cover to LINDA. She has been classified as the rarest of human voices. She is a type 3 Dark Contralto with polyphonic undertones, simply put you hear multiple tones at once. Shaman, tribal, Primitive, etherial. Absolutely NO ONE to compare her to past or present. Another vocalist who is humble, grateful and kind. Enjoy

Loved your reaction. I’m 72 and I still get goosebumps whenever I hear this and so many others of their song list! Keep listening, you’ll come to love them as we have from the 1960’s-1980’s. The Bee Gee’s sang about relationship. No one has ever been able to harmonize as perfectly as they. Hands on hips, and in pockets they effortlessly sang this song. There was no auto tune in this era, just one microphone; they performed this masterpiece with no gimmicks, just pure raw talent.

Best ever? I think the Beatles might disagree. Certainly great vocalists but I think Freddy Mercury, Whitney Houston and a couple of others are a bit better. But I am jaundiced because I love their 60’s catalog, hate their foray into Disco and love their 70’s love songs. As an aside, they also wrote great music for other artists. Frankie Valli had a hit song (the TITLE SONG) in a similar movie (and song) named Grease. It was written by Barry Gibb.

The Bee Gees (among the most successful groups of all time) wrote & released Too Much Heaven in 1978. It was already #1 in US & Canada & #3 in UK before the Jan 1979 fundraiser, “Music for UNICEF.” They then donated, in perpetuity, ALL their royalties, not just from the UNICEF event, merch & compilation album (as the other bands did, though some just for a limited time), but also their publishing rights. So, UNICEF continues to get paid, from anyone’s version & any use (including in movies, TV, commercials, etc). As the 1st band to make such a donation to charity, they were recognized for it by UN Secretary General, Kurt Waldheim & invited to the White House by President Carter. The last official tally I saw was 2017, saying UNICEF had received more than $11 million from it, for emergency food & healthcare. I’ve seen others post it hit 20 million as of 2019, but I haven’t found a solid source for that. Barry included the song on his 2021 hit album, Greenfields, so that (duet with Alison Krauss) will bring UNICEF a whole new revenue stream.

To think, 43 year ago when I was 16, I listened to this and was blown away! This song was very popular for many, many years after.. too. What a great time to be alive.

What's cool is being brothers they vocally are similar, Barry in the middle was just a bit stronger is all, so their harmonizing was always point on! They also had a baby brother Andy Gibb who had his own solo career going on, but you can see him as well in the video "You should be dancing" he joins them on stage for this one. Great reaction.

It's a beaitiful song, both musically and lyrically. If you want another tearjerker from them, check out "Immortality" that they sang with Celine Dion.

As an oldie the best thing about this video is knowing you have so many more beautiful Bee Gees songs to discover.

I remember watching that when I was young. That was live on show. No auto tune. That didn't exist then. They were amazing. What you are hearing is THEM.

I loved your reaction and I’ve heard this song 1000 times and watching you react made me cry even if it’s a simple song it’s so powerful. Appreciate the real emotion and that’s what great songs can do. Even across borders and continents…. We can still feel the same emotions. Made my day!!
