A glorious, huge battle with tons of Capital ships! Got really intense towards the end and has a lot of ups and downs~ One of the hardest (and most fun) battles I've had in my many many hours of playing the game.
(Apart from that time I tried (and succeeded) to solo a UAF fleet that had 3 Solvernia's, but that was more annoying than difficult hence why I didn't upload it.)
COUGH Also, pretty much every single ship has lower DP Values to allow for bigger fights~

Here are the timestamps for anybody who wants to see the fancy? Intense? Idk, the parts I liked, I guess. ALSO THIS VIDEO IS 33 MINUTES LONG. WHAT. 0:21 - Fleet Commander jinxs themselves immediately. 1:08 - An overextending fodder dies like the fodder they are... Fleet Commander gets very cocky. 1:11 - Realization that the enemy has in fact, brought more than 1 ship into the field. Very scary looking ships might I add. 1:19 - Fleet Commander isn't intimidated for long and charges in with overflowing confidence! 1:36 - That went about as well as you expected it to go. 2:10 - Mild blunder from the Fleet Commander that scorches a teammate's rear. 2:17 - Overflowing confidence has returned as the Fleet Commander charges in, shanking some poor fodders. 2:50 - The Ramming Addiction causes the Fleet Commander to overextend here. 3:10 - The Fleet launches a devasting counter-attack against the Tyrant, disabling it briefly! 3:39 - The Tyrant yeets a corpse at the Fleet Commander. They will not forget that. 5:16 - An Indomitable with a Ramming Addiction that rivals the Fleet Commander's, and that goes about as well as you would expect. 5:39 - The Fleet Commander gets revenge and relentlessly chase down the Tyrant from earlier. 7:00 - The Fleet Commander overextends yet again due to Ramming Addiction... 8:05 - The Flagellator lodges itself into a shield somehow. 9:20 - Poor teammates suffer from the Fleet Commander's antics. 9:58 - Beautiful focus fire from The Fleet, obliterating a Renown. 10:50 - A Lillaru II dies off-screen, like a side character... What a shame. 9 Friendlies remain and you can tell things are gonna get bad when it's not even half the video yet. 11:25 - The Fleet Commander pull off a very nice drift into a "backstab" here. 14:01 - Another Lillaru II dies. 8 Friendlies remain in this fight, things are still... okay. 14:08 - The Fleet Commander thirst for blood when they see a lone capital. 14:19 - First Tactical Error: "I require assistance!! Help!!!" "Oh it's just a fresh wound, walk it off~" 14:48 - Danger beeps are never a good sign after all. 14:56 - A Reisen II explodes, bringing the total friendlies down to- 14:58 - The previous Rillaru II that was shown getting battered while screaming desperately to our Fleet Commander has died. Even worse, they got finished off by a few fighters, how embarrassing. At least they got the privilege to die on screen like a plot-relevant character. This brings the total Friendlies down to 6, the tide of the engagement is turning in a bad direction. 15:08 - One more Rillaru II disabled, only 5 Friendlies remain. The Fleet is getting damaged heavily in a short time frame here. 15:42 - Fleet Commander pulls off a nice torpedo dodge here. 15:50 - Neuxoria dies, things are looking dire now with only 4 Friendlies left. 16:03 - Yet another Rillaru II dies, 3 Friendlies left. 16:17 - The last Reisen II faces a brutal onslaught from 4 capitals before exploding, 2 Friendlies still alive. The situation looks dire for our protagonist... 16:20 - The last Neuxoria dies a pretty sad death as its Fleet Commander just watches it die unable to help. 1 Friendly remains, that being a Lillaru II. 16:37 - The Fleet Commander goes for a desperate "backstab" on the Onslaught. 16:45 - Second Tactical Error: Fleet Commander's ship get its rear scorched due to a "minor" blunder. 16:50 - The Rillaru II bravely pulling aggro of many capitals so the Fleet Commander can recover. 17:14 - Poor Rillaru II got killed off-screen despite the heroic last stand. Friendlies remaining: P A N I C 17:31 - The Fleet (what used to be The Fleet at least) Commander gets overwhelmed and overloads the Flux System. Suffering heavy armor damage during the down period. 19:07 - The Fleet Commander is in a dire situation... But still manages to take down an overconfident Renown. 20:17- The Endeavour strayed from its packed and is picked off by the Fleet Commander. The situation is turning around again! 20:44 - Spoke too soon, the Enemy Fleet launches a devasting counter-attack. Overloading the Flux System yet again and inflicting some damage onto the Fleet Commander. 21:58 - Confidence boost! One more hit-and-run! 22:09 - Another Renown is successfully taken down. This time without any Flux System overloading. 22:33 - The Fleet Commander is backed into the map's wall, gets scorched a bit. 23:05 - They overextend a bit, almost overloading their Flux System. The clock is bearing down on them as well. 23:51 - The Fleet Commander destroys an overextending Endeavour, the situation is finally turning in our protagonist's favor. 24:50 - The Skysplitter doesn't plan on letting the fight end so easily... Escaping with barely a sliver of Hull remaining. 26:00 - The Legion desperately tries to save the Onslaught from The Fleet Commander's "backstab", but fails. 27:18 - The Legion puts up quite the last stand, but eventually it falls as well. 28:22 - The Fleet Commander goes in for the clean-up round! What a video, this one was really enjoyable as well. Since you put a lot of dialogue for MC, some ships also had dialogue which I hope to see more of since they are really funny (especially that poor Neuxoria at the end). Looking forward to the next video! Edit: OH GOD THIS COMMENT IS LONG AS HELL.

Haha~ reading these timestamps is always a treat, perfectly highlights all of the best bits - and the humor you add is amazing! I cannot thank you enough for spending so much time just to do this as I'm sure it takes quite a bit of time to do. It truly fills me with joy hearing that you enjoy and look forward to my silly little videos as well! I can only hope I live up to your expectations! :) EDIT: Forgot to mention~ Your 1st tactical error caption is unironically almost exactly what I was going to have the text say lolol

@@AstralSpace_Oh! I’m glad you like the time stamps I added even if I thought some were a bit cringey haha.. And what a coincidence that my dialogue was almost the exact same as the one you were going to add.

Such a great video, ım using that flagship in my current playthrough it s very agile and good ship. A question : Why it s dp 16? You have so much s mod. İt must be so much hiegher
@AstralSpace_
@AstralSpace_ 8 ай бұрын
To answer your question, The vanilla DP cost of it is of course, 50 - which I then got modified down to 16 - and each S-Mod I BELIEVE adds +2 per built-in Hull-mod which brings it up to 27 total (There might be an artifact or skill that might lower DP a bit more that might affect this ship as well but I can't remember off the top of my head) If this were an unmodifed DP ship this thing would prob cost ~72 DP to deploy. If you wanna do something similar (and this can be easily done to every ship in the game - including modded ones of course) all you have to do is go to wherever your game is installed (E.G; where the .exe is) and as an example you go to; (Starsector\mods\UAF\data\hulls) and you can import the ship_data.csv file (make a back-up of this so you can easily revert any changes) into either excel or google sheets (I use google sheets personally). Once you have the spreadsheet open you find whatever ships you want to lower the DP value of and change the value under "supplies/rec" This value will change the DP point value of the ship to the value you input. All you have to do then is to download and replace the ship_data file from where you got it from with your modified one and then you should be all good! I've done this for *every* ship in the game, including all the modded ones, there are other ways you can also increase battlesize as well but I opted for this approach, mostly because it's arguably easier and doesn't require you to download a code-editing software like Notepad++ or Visual Studio to modify code within the game to change the battle-size. *COUGH* it's not really THAT hard, I'm just too lazy to modify it that way in all honesty and I don't remember what file you have to dig into but that can be easily found with a quick google search if you need it haha~ **Hopefully** I answered your question, but I'm glad you enjoyed the video and are having fun with the Aeria Charlotte, it is my favorite ship in the roaster thus far~ Man this is a long comment ;-;

Npnp~ I had a look and just from the forum page it looks interesting! Maybe sometime later this month I'll play around with their ships, but I already have my eyes set on a different faction for future videos atm. But rest assured, I'll get to them sooner or later! Thanks for the suggestions~

What mod did you use to reduce deployment cost and supplies to recover. I was looking for such mod for a loooong time. Or did you just manually edited settings files?
@AstralSpace_
@AstralSpace_ 7 ай бұрын
@spacesuit7263 I manually edited the .csv files. I would offer to send you a link to my google-sheets with all the changes - but unfortunately I have changed them to be default DP values. If you just want bigger battles (more ships deployed) you can manually edit the game files in VS Studio or Notepad++ To increase the max battle size from 400 to something bigger (I now have mine set to 650 as an example) If you wanna do the former, you can just open the ship_data.csv file in google sheets (or excel) and go to supplies/rec and change that down to lower the deployment and recovery costs of ships. If you wanna do the latter you can edit the \Starsector\starsector-core\data\config\settings.json simply hit Control + F with either notepad++ or VS Studio and type in "maxBattleSize" - change this value to whatever you want (Personally I wouldn't go above 650 - 750 max unless you have a really good PC) You may also want to change "maxShipsInAIFleet" to increase the max number of ships generated in AI fleets, as if you don't it *might* messed up AI fleet generation to skew towards smaller class ships. After you are happy with your changes simply hit Control + S to save changes, open the game and go into the settings and change the Battle-size slider up to w/e value you inputted in the settings.config file. Then you should be good to go~

@@AstralSpace_ Great explanation. Still it saddens me no one did supply reduction mod yet.
@AstralSpace_
@AstralSpace_ 7 ай бұрын
@spacesuit7263 - I don't really blame them, it can be a real pain in the neck to upkeep that kind of mod since anytime the modmaker updates their faction you will have to make sure your .csv files are compatible, and with so many different custom factions, it can get real annoying do it. It's better if the end-user changes those values themselves since it's not too difficult to open up the .csv files in excel/google sheets and changing the supples/rec value to lower DP cost/recovery costs. Though I can understand why some people might not want to do it that way as you can easily make things super unbalanced if you just change the values willy nilly to w/e you want. Though I would say if you do it yourself, a fairly safe bet is to just go with halving the values, and seeing how that plays out. The name of the game with this kind of thing is iteration, until you find that sweet spot. But this sweet spot is not the same for every end-user, so that's another thing that would be annoying to upkeep if someone kept a "mod" for this kind of thing. At a certain point you'd probably have hundreds of spreadsheets that you'd have to look through when mods update just to find the right sheets lol. But another reason would be because...I mean like I said, it's very easy thing to change. You don't *really* need a mod to change it for you, when you yourself could do it in a couple of minutes maybe depending on how many ships there are to change the value of. Same goes for Supplies/m usage. I believe it's right next to Supplies/Rec so you could change both very easily and very quickly. Based on how I *believe* the game works code-wise, this is the only way to *really* mess with those values, though I suppose you could also just make a custom hull-mod that you can stick onto a ship for 0-OP that negates 100% of Recovery/Maintenance costs and reduces it's deployment cost by a %. I can't say TOO much though as I am not well-versed in how coding a Starsector mod is (Although I do have a degree in Game Design so I know a bit about Coding - though I was mainly taught Visual Script so my knowledge of worded-programming languages is a bit limited) But I'd imagine it'd still be a pain in the neck even then. Not to mention the aforementioned problem of finding that "Sweet spot" as it is again, not the same for every person. But to put it into perspective, my google sheets file already has like 20ish+ tabs of factions, some with duplicates in-case I need a pure vanilla spreadsheet that I know has 0 modifications to it as a backup.
