I think Starships are awesome in concept, but they’re really held back by current power level like you said. I believe there’s a lot of potential for them post rotation and it kinda feels like Blizz did that intentionally. Which does suck rn but I’m really hopeful that post rotation the game will be sick.

Shout out to specimen claw and slightly shoring up the biggest weakness of starships which is them getting stolen. Completely stops Yogg, and alien encounters makes it very easy to blank Reska. It's not much but Yogg is probably the most ubiquitous neutral steal, enough so that I've had it come up in games

@@NitroMelonHearthstone doesn’t really follow that logic, there’s that Hunter legendary from DoD for example that’s literally just a ballista but it’s a mech.

@@thebigyes8482 Yeah it's almost just vibes based, but I think the consistency that's best is what they're MADE of. Metal is mech, some sort of primordial rock is Elemental, fish is like really commonly Murloc, etc.

Starships are an awesome concept, but they feel like a 2017/2018 mechanic that somehow made it into 2024. Its less that they're poorly designed in of themselves and more that they're poorly designed for the meta they're inhabiting. They would be *significantly* better if they had *some* sort of inherent effect. Preferably something that prevents them from being countered or stolen right out the gate. I can definetly see them buffing most of the Starship Pieces to encourage people to play them (The Warlock & Death Knight Starships in particular, while fun, really need it as there are hints of something really good there)

What i think a lot of us is forgetting is that so many of the huge counters to starships rotate out in march/april + more tools in the miniset. Excited to see what comes out of this next year.

I’m pretty ok with the Druid starship not being meta ever. I’m already sick of Zilliax and druid/warrior’s bullshit ramping and reviving a never ending wall of taunts/armor gain, i don’t need to be seeing them also having this get even more out of control.

I'll be honest when I say that once the previous year rotates out, Starships might finally be good. The power level will drop down to a degree that they can actually be usable.

My favorite starship has been priest in wild. You only use the piece that has taunt and gives armor, and spend the entire game resurrecting them. I can either pop the starship early and copy it into my hand and revive it a bunch, or just keep building the dormant until i can instakill with the offensive exodar protocol. Ive won against reno decks simply because of how many times i can bring n'zoth into my hand to grow more starships. The deck only really struggles with perfect mulligan pirate/murloc (especially if a shaman player runs devolve), steal priest, and quasar rogue with garrote.

I think the best buff to give Heart of the Legion, that stays on theme for "Defensive clear + life gain" is for the heart to also increase your max HP by the amount it heals you.

Really cool video, I love the new look but the music is a bit too loud and sometimes drowns you out, I would also recommend a different types of music, like lofi and such for background as too 'heavy' music can be distracting, personally I had hard time focusing on what you were saying. I had an idea about Warrior Starship which goes like this: 3 mana minion, 2/1: - Rush - Deathrattle: Magnetize to your Starship. - Starship Piece 4 mana 2/5: - Deathrattle: Summon 2/2 mechs that are also Starship Pieces - Starship Piece 6 mana spell: - Attach 2 copies of a Starship piece in your deck into your Starship (or build them if you aren't building a starship) and then dismantle your starship to summon its pieces. So the idea of this revolves around the 3 mana minion such that you kill the 3 mana to start building and then when you launch a starship while having a starship piece, your starship's effects and stats will carry over to a new one due to the Deathrattle.
