I have made an honest 400hp with a Pontiac 400 with 6X heads which is a Pontiac 350 head.

Hoping so! Next step need to get it in the shop and pull the motor/transmission to see what we've really got to start from. Glad you're stoked about it!

I think a 400 would be a better choice to start with. I realize you are already a month into it. Plus, you already have the 350. Whatever you build I am with you. I 'm curious what a Poncho 350 is capable of running. Uncle Bob likes Pontiacs? Who knew, very kool!

Pretty much in all things, at all times, a Pontiac 400 is a better choice over a Pontiac 350. Originally when I purchased this car I was told it was a Pontiac 400 IN the car. Unfortunately I got screwed, and I don't happen to have a buildable 400 sitting around so.. we're gonna see what this thing can do. Fingers crossed I'm not just wasting a giant amount of money!

I just got a 69 Lemans but the engine is out of a 73 Catalina, 350 2 barrel, so I am looking forward to seeing what you do to the engine to pull high 11's.

I would build it clean, simple and fast. Elbow grease is free. Fiberglass hood and fenders. Clean up the entire car and put it in primer. Nice period correct wheels for some drag radials. Install the pans, cut out all the rust, take a bunch of weight off the car, make it look like a “Day Two” car and let Bob do his thing on the motor. Make look as nice as it his fast. The rat rod, rust hole pretending it’s patina is horrible imho and every single small channel does it and it’s frankly lame. The roadkill recipe is old, played out and was never appealing to begin with. Sorry for the rant. I just would like to see something I haven’t seen in many many years. A car on a budget that looks as nice as it is fast. Best of luck to you with the project and I look forward to seeing what you guys build.

You see how quick src's garage and finances blew up right that's why. I mean I saw them with nothing but that S10 and the falcon just getting by and winning a few races now look at all the cars they have new shop

Why not put the 455 in the car you want to run 1150
@AutomotiveAdventuresWithAustin7 ай бұрын
That car can already run mid 11s on a tire, so no excitement or challenge there. Doing it with a 350, on a totally new car build is much more interesting. At least in our opinion.

I don't know anything about those Pontiacs but I know I had a couple friends with those Oldsmobile 350 Rockets and those seem to run great what's the difference
@AutomotiveAdventuresWithAustin8 ай бұрын
The big thing with a Pontiac 350 is the long stroke versus small bore, great for making torque, not so much for making RPMs. Olds 350 Rockets were over square so kind of the exact opposite, big bore short stroke so they could RPM well.
