A mid-February start, wow. I hiked the PCT in 2018 like you did, though I started well after you did, so I'm pretty jealous seeing you hiking the AT now (and the CDT). My wife's getting the AT bug, so hopefully we'll be out there in a year or two. I wish you good fortune on your hike!

Enjoyed the video! Love hiking in the eerie fog, snow and rain in the mountains. Surreal. I admire the fortitude to keep rolling past Hawk Mtn Shelter at 5 pm knowing you will be setting up in the rain and darkness. You are beast. I don't think I have ever seen an AT vlog start with sunny weather--it seems like everyone starts with cloudy, foggy, cold, misty or snowy weather on the first day. I actually thought that it was kind of cool that you started the trail at the monument all by yourself. It just seemed like a great quiet solo moment as you began this experience.

Just wanted to say “hi” I’m a fellow thru hiker AT 21 and i loved watching your start. Just some small advice , remember the trail is super long , take your time and enjoy every step. I walked with several people in 21 who started out of the gate with to many miles and by the time we made it to Virginia they were burnt out. Walk lightly Slow down to enjoy the steps And soak in Mother Nature She’s good medicine Smiles for miles Edge ✌🏼🤍
