So Legit, I do love the budget build, unfortunately the tooling used may not be available to everyone, but hopefully friends will chip in for welding, fitting, etc. In any case, this video proves that patience can decrease cost drastically. If you can wait for the right body and the right chassis, everything can work out! Thanks Casey for showing a true garage build.

It was great to see how you mated the donor chassis from a modern passenger car with the old style truck body. I've never seen it before, and it was not just entertaining, but informative too. Halfas customs showed using a special wheel on a grinder for doing windshields and other laminated glasses. It rips through the material in a controlled way.

@@CaseysCustoms Great job on this build. What happens with the side windows, do they need to be cut down or do they still operate normally and just don't get rolled up as far? I could see if you changed the dimensions of the opening the windows potentially not fitting any longer but can't quite wrap my head around if it's a problem or not.

Not having done this type of swap, it was interesting to see your process and all the more so on a budget build. I would have liked to have seen more of what you did with the interior, but still an amazing amount of work to make this project happen and all the editing work that went into it. I have a blue 56 f100 with GM sb motor mounts, turbo 350 transmission and an impala rear axle. It’s been sitting since the mid 1980s without an engine. It’s been in the family since my grandfather bought it in the early 1970s. My father converted it to a GM engine and drive terrain. He went to school to be a welder and he ended up becoming a arborist for the rest of his career, lol.

I really enjoyed this and it gave me a great idea. My brother just passed away from cancer and I want to build his first project truck he never got to build. 1954 international pickup body is going to go on a 1996 s10 blazer 4x4 frame with the vortec 4.3 engine. I just thought I’d share. 👍🏻

Great video, I’m pretty sure if you would have been able to sand the windshield first before moving it may not have broke. Was probably a small crack from the cut/snap that shot straight up the same way your controlled “crack” does. Hope this helps!

👑 2 years late😊. Tip for putting in windows. Put a small rope in the channel of the rubber andbsetbthe bottom in, then pull the rope and mostly the rubber will pull over the lip.
