Your tip for using blend-if on the darks on the clone area to cover the white sky was great. It never occurred to me to try doing that to make a cloned area blend in better.

Nice tuturial. Curious why you didn’t use a linear gradient here to give it the glow as shown on one of your tuts a few months ago.
@MattKloskowski2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! All different ways to do the same thing and sometimes what mood you're in that day affects what you do. That said, I don't recall ever using the linear gradient for a glow. A "glow" in LR, is a very different effect than what I did here in PS. Best!

Hi Matt, thank you for another great video 👍🏼 Appreciate the explanations Could you please do a video on editing Milky Way in LR, with stretching etc TIA

Thanks Matt for a nice tutorial. When you save a layered file back to LR how long does it normally take? On my M1 iMac with the latest versions of PS, LR and up to date OS, I flatten my image first because it takes so long to save the file even when I only have 1 or 2 layers. Am I overlooking some setting that I need to change or is PS's save feature just that slow? (Waiting on a spinning ball just doesn’t seem worth the time)
@MattKloskowski2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nina. I depends. Even with 1 or 2 layers, those files (especially for big megapixel cameras) are huge. Mine is almost 1GB. So it tends to take 20-30 seconds sometimes and maybe even more. Hope that helps.

hey Matt, another great video. When you are doing the glow effect in PS instead of overlay or soft light have you tried Screen.????
@MattKloskowski2 жыл бұрын
Hi and thanks. Glad you liked it. I wouldn't use Screen because that's a brightening blend mode and I'm not trying to make the scene brighter in this case. Hope that helps.

@@MattKloskowski Thanks Matt I really appreciate your input. I just watched your video on the Orton effect and have started using your technique on a number of my landscape photos. Great instructional videos.

I love all your videos Matt, but I have to say this is the first one I've ever disliked, although I find the explanation of all the techniques very interesting. In the end though this just became so dark almost Black at the Left hand edge in particular. I dont think its right to try and improve upon what God or nature gave us, to change things so much from what we were given, by right, but accept this is maybe just my view. I liked all the edits that you did in LRC but its what you did in PS that I personally found a step to far. Keep the videos coming though, I`m sure the next one I`ll love.
