Ok so it is about a year later now and I can tell you that I had to revisit most of the things in the video. I had to remove the starter and take it apart and clean it on the inside and while i was at it , lubed it all up with new grease. The carb needed a new primer pump that was replaced, and the gearshifting issue was solved by swapping out the gear selector sensor, I beleve its called the angle sensor on the gearbox. Water or condensation forms on the inside of the housing and eventually finds its way into the sensor thus making it work sometimes and sometimes not. It was also a good ide to lube up all of the gears to the gear selector motor while at it. But since then it has worked non stop with 0 issues hot or cold. Let me know it you guys want some more vdeos on this. Could use a good service.

Next time Google the Honda operators manuel and would save you a ton of time and give you some pointers on whats going on with machine. The blinking N means its not all the way into neutral gear. Which is why it was pulling over engine when you were pull starting motor. Also take apart all electrical connections to clean and apply dieltric grease to male/female ends. The Rancher 350 is the easiest quad to maintain of any I've ever had. I have had most and Honda is the the best for dependability and longevity. My 05 Rancher 350 fm es full time 4wd has 8,954 miles not Km's on it. Up until this last summer the only thing I'd ever done was fr. brakes and reg oil changes. I use Mobil 1 full syn with Lucas oil additive 3oz's. Last summer I changed the tie rod ends,ball joints,and front wheel bearings since new. Front end parts replaced due to me way over weighting the machine using for trapping animals. Another thing with Honda's that sets them apart from all others is shaft driven,not belt. All other ATV's are belt driven which i absolutely dispose. Once the belt is wet you don't move and most likely have smoked the belt. So a replacement is needed ASAP before you can drive again. Those usually run from $75 up to $300 for the supposedly best belts. Check your wire couplers on R side of oil radiator. Thats usually the problem with the electric shift. Enjoy the machine, will go anywhere the others will just a little slower in the beginning. But in the end you'll be 1st at the finish line cause their indestructible!!!!

You seem to know your Honda's 😃 The funny thing is i actually did get a hold of an operators manual and like you said, i probably should have done that sooner. Did the grease on the connectors and I also had to take the starter apart eventually to get it greased up (the charcoal inside was rusted stuck) and the gearbox issue was helped when i changed the gear selector sensor on the gearbox (water had gotten into it) But now it works flawlessly and have so for quite some time and looking forward to it helping me with the snow in the winter. Thinking about making another video on a service on it since i don't think that has ever been done. The Honda is now staying with me so i might as well take the time to learn some more about these machines.

I have the same issue. Hitting it with a hammer works for a bit replace the starter as it has a bad spot on it.

It diddnt last, my recommendation is to replace the starter. I took it apart and lubed everything up and now it works 100% time but it was really difficult to get it back together and who knows how long it will last this time around. Its the hard coal brushes that get stuck inside the starter due to rust and old coal.

Before you do the angle sensor just wiggle the cables over the steering rack.....the green one....in the middle I think....most likely dampness causing your electric shift problems. Well am I right ?

Havent gotten to the sensor yet. But I have used the atv during a few occations. Some behavior I have found is that everything works fine if its really cold, like a cold morning. Then as it heats up I get random numer flashing codes on the gear indicator and it stops working. 7 and three flashes in a row mostly, so now, like you say, i think there is another issue at hand. Sounds and feels more like a cable/cold solder issue. I will take a look at that wire and se if anything happens 👍

Disconnect brake lights at lever and see if gears works when disconnected. ....the spade connections I mean. You may have corrosion in connectors under handlebars. Hard to unplug.....be patient.....slide them off their retainers / metal tabs first, then unplug. Oh and greetings from Ireland.

06 Honda Trx 350 won't start. Starter is working its getting a good spark good compression cleaned out carburettor. The bike was going fine the day before. Has anybody advice that could help

Change the angle sensor and remove the plate and clean it out. Has worked flawlessly for about a year now

Now it does. Remove the plate that the angle sensor sits on and clean it out from rust. Then the issue will be resolved most likely.
