Starting a Boat on the Trailer with a fake a lake motor flusher

Here’s how I start my 2008 Mastercraft X2 while it’s on the trailer out of the water, I’m using a flush buddy fake a lake motor flusher. This allows me to flush the engine, or get it up to temperature so I can change the oil and also to test it out before I take it to the lake. Hey Myk - GREAT video. Very informative. I just picked up the 'fake-a-lake' to get our boat ready for the season; run the motor, check for leaks, etc. I usually do this on the ramp when not busy, but now that I have the flusher attachment... Curious of any risks to be aware of if I run the boat longer than it takes to get to temp so I can crawl around the engine doing the inspection?

I’m not aware of any risks. I would just idle the motor if you have to rev it put it in neutral you want to make sure to not put it in gear and move the prop out of the water. Best of luck!

I saw that the temperature is going up , if I do this for to long , the boat will overheat ? Cause I saw that the temperature needle was passing the middle , thanx a lot

You want to make sure you have enough water flow and only keep it in neutral. Check your temperature next time you're out on the lake, could be either you need a new impeller or a thermostat.

Start engine first. When it's running water gets blown out not running it can get into the piston through the exhaust port. I've had that problem before then you'll hydrolock your engine.

That’s true for a jetski engine. It would be very hard for water to get past the impeller, which is not moving, Therefore this is a safe way to start the engine.

You should if it’s hooked up correctly.

Thanks for the video I have a x30 identically to yours . Were you able to reset the service indicator on the dash screen after the oil service
