Yes, please, more of this. I'm always interested in the writing process of a fellow writer. Good luck hitting that amazing 10.000 word-count each week.

This is so fascinating! I'm a writer for video games, and the "devlogging" community (showing the process of making a video game in vlog-form) is quite big on youtube. But I don't think I've ever seen a traditional author vlog their process like this. Really really cool! Good luck, Andrew! I'm rooting for you! 🙌

"As long as you're moving forward, it's all good" - I love it! If you ever had the time (or inclination!) I'd love to record a Zoom-chat with you some day. Your writing, your experience as an Indie author, your reading - oh my, I bet viewers would find all that FASCINATING!

Would you ever consider doing a deep dive on your experience preparing and publishing your novel? I'd love to hear about your decision to pursue independent publishing vs. traditional, what it took to get book ready (I see you have a map!) in terms of editing and formatting. Just generally curious about your process. Congratulations on your achievement, the cover looks great.

I'm interested in writing videos! Especially videos on the process and routine. This content makes it feel like I could actually approach writing a book. Plus, it's cool to see your opinion on world building and info dumps, which I thought was handled well in the first book. And, more blood magic in book 2!

What a wonderful way to write the next book, take a break by signing copies of the first book to get inspired. :) Keep it up.

Definitely interested in more vids like these! So good not to feel like I'm operating in a void. :) My pants/plot process is roughly the same as yours. I create a STEP outline (sort of a storyboard, based on Robert McKee's book/seminar "STORY"), then weave and adapt the actual chapter specifics based (mostly) on what the characters are telling me they want to do, and also what question I imagine the reader is asking at that moment in the narrative. Sometimes something I think will take 10 pages ends up taking 100, and vice versa. I'm now in the final chapters of book 3 of my trilogy, and it's been a challenge giving every character a satisfying arc while still hitting all the plot beats that need to happen and weaving it all together in a way that flows naturally and isn't forced. Love the idea of shooting for 10K works a week. I have generally just scheduled set "writing hours," and let the words come at whatever pace they need to, but that approach can get frustrating when I get to the end of a week and don't have many actual words on the page to show for it. Thanks!

Yeah that’s very similar to my process too! Ooooo the end of a trilogy is exciting. I hadn’t realised you had all 3 written! Yeah the word count is what works for me. Seeing the progress helps keep me motivated

Okay, I only know you from your secret project vlogs, but this was amazing! I'm definitely putting Harbinger of Justice on my 'not allowed to buy until you finish all the books you own' list lol, I need more indie books on my shelves

Very cool to see how an inde writer writes- I feel like so much of the advice and stuff we get about writing processes is from huge names that work in a really different manner.

Also do you use Campfire? I know you watch a lot of Daniel Greene and that's one of his main sponsors. Honestly it's so good to keep track of your world building
@the_fools_tale

I have used Campfire! But I was terrible at keeping it up to date because so much of the small world building aspects I came up with while writing and I forgot to go back and note down. I’m looking into other ways to keep track now because I need it for consistency for book 2 haha
