Its great to see this, not many people go into this aspect. I’m not on your level of experience but the ability to read a dog seems to be something natural to some people, others need experience and some may do it for years still not really knowing 😂

I’d love to see a video about young dogs redirecting in Bitework and how to handle that. Redirecting upon lift off in frustration and when touching the dog in drive.

I love seeing the connection, trust, control and commitment you have with some of these dogs. Takes a special human! Wish more humans had it for each other. Can we could put all the social media trolls in a big truck and haul them up to you so you can work with them?

Love seeing this! After training as a decoy under an experienced trainer for a year, I’m building the foundations of bitework with my off-breed for Mondioring. Working on getting a fuller grip 🤞🏼this video is so helpful!

I love your content, if possible can you show how to start a dog that is slight hesitant, that maybe doesn’t have a strong bite yet but can develop it. You don’t see that at all, even usually develops the dog enough to were they already engage but never right from the start.

in my experience I've noted that it's best to lay the foundation but to quickly move them onto a decoy other than yourself. Can never work your own dog fully in defense as they begin to view it more as a game or play because they wont show aggression towards you as the owner. if the end goal is to do real protection and work them in defense/fight drive to switch them early on to a decoy but lay the foundation 💪 great content

I have never seen the ecollar used in the bitework context to condition the bark specifically. I have conditioned the ecollar , starting with momentary stim at the lowest level, essentially using it like a continuation marker ( tap- food) and then eventually taught the dog to turn off the stim by asking for a behavior the dog is already proficient in, then applying continuous stim (at the Lowest level) releasing the stim as soon as the dog commits to doing the behavior and then using positive reinforcement at the end. My question is, in this session are you using the ecollar this way as a first step to condition the dog to understand and listen to the stim in the bitework context, so you can use it later on as negative reinforcement to motivate behavior, or do you have a different goal in mind? Anyhow, love the channel and all of the information you put out there for free!! I have had such an easier time understanding and digesting information during protection seminars because of everything I have learned by watching your channel! Thank you 🙏

And if for sample a good friend who comes to your house daily wears the bite sleeve? Is it save for him(the friend) to be around the dog like other people she knows except her own familie she lives in?

This is great. I've got a 1 yo Doberman female. She's very well trained off leash and I find continually teaching and challenging her with new commands & scenarios is enriching for us both and also helps keep her satisfied (attempting to tire her by running alone isn't feasible, that Doberman stamina & speed is ridiculous). She loves to play tug more than almost anything else but she's a thrasher. After she bites she'll violently shake her head from side to side. Why is this a 'negative'? (you mentioned thrashing as undesireable in this vid)... i.e. if she was biting a person or animal, would the thrashing cause more damage? Does it make for a looser grip? Hello from Ontario, Canada :)

Hi. Have a question about bite techniques. Have heard that GSD have more will to pull than to use the push bite. And that the GSD is more possessive of the sleeve, They want to own that thing. What is your experience in that matter?

with the button in the hand with the current unfortunately my friend that's not a trainer the trainer doesn't need these training tools because he has techniques..my opinion is based on the techniques I know, I have never used a choke or a delicacy for 16 years, There are techniques 2024 we are not in 1990! Evolve!

My 5 month old guarding breed puppy is fearful of vehicles when they drive close by when im walking him. Is this normal for puppies of this age?
@liroymiller2926
@liroymiller2926 3 жыл бұрын
To break through this fear you needed to socialize your dog when he was much younger and expose him to all sounds people places and pretty much everything you can. What you can do right now to solve this issue is to just expose him more to what he fears (in your case cars driving close by) and WHILE a car passes by give him a reward and praise him it will must likely distract from his fear and make him learn to focus on you more and he will initiate his fears with something positive. If he doesn’t want to take the treat which is very likely to happen what you can simply do is spend a few days with your dog doing the following thing for an hour and it will work wonders. Walk your dog on a sidewalk near the highway and literally just walk your dog dont talk to him or anything just walk with him. Reward behaviors that you like with a treat or with affection. Do this for a few days and im sure you will get the results your looking for. Remember you will NOT see a change instantly it’ll take time but expose your pup to as many things noises and places as you can and if he fears anything work through it with him just like how i explained and you will have a very confident dog thats a promise. All good luck to you my friend.
